Isaiah 38
1 In those days Hezekiah became mortally ill. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came to him and said, “This is what the LORD says: ‘Put your house in order, for you are about to die; you will not recover.’”
૧તે દિવસોમાં હિઝકિયા મરણતોલ માંદો પડ્યો. તેથી આમોસના દીકરા યશાયા પ્રબોધકે તેની પાસે આવીને કહ્યું: “યહોવાહ એમ કહે છે, ‘તારા ઘરનો બંદોબસ્ત કર; કેમ કે તું મરવાનો છે, તું જીવવાનો નથી.”
2 Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD,
૨ત્યારે હિઝકિયાએ પોતાનું મુખ દીવાલ તરફ ફેરવીને યહોવાહને પ્રાર્થના કરી.
3 saying, “Please, O LORD, remember how I have walked before You faithfully and with wholehearted devotion; I have done what was good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
૩તેણે કહ્યું, “હે યહોવાહ, હું કાલાવાલા કરું છું કે હું કેવી રીતે સત્યતાથી તથા સંપૂર્ણ હૃદયથી તમારી સમક્ષ ચાલ્યો છું અને તમારી દૃષ્ટિમાં જે સારું તે મેં કર્યું છે,” અને પછી હિઝકિયા બહુ રડ્યો.
4 And the word of the LORD came to Isaiah, saying,
૪પછી યશાયાની પાસે યહોવાહનું આ વચન આવ્યું કે,
5 “Go and tell Hezekiah that this is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: ‘I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will add fifteen years to your life.
૫“જઈને મારા લોકના આગેવાન હિઝકિયાને કહે, “તારા પિતા દાઉદના ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ એમ કહે છે, ‘તારી પ્રાર્થના મેં સાંભળી છે અને તારાં આંસુ મેં જોયાં છે. જુઓ, હું તારા આયુષ્યમાં પંદર વર્ષ વધારીશ.
6 And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city.
૬હું તને તથા આ નગરને આશ્શૂરના રાજાના હાથમાંથી છોડાવીશ; અને હું આ નગરનું રક્ષણ કરીશ.
7 This will be a sign to you from the LORD that He will do what He has promised:
૭અને યહોવાહે જે વચન કહ્યું છે, તે તે પૂરું કરશે, એનું આ ચિહ્ન તને યહોવાહથી મળશે:
8 I will make the sun’s shadow that falls on the stairway of Ahaz go back ten steps.’” So the sunlight went back the ten steps it had descended.
૮જુઓ, આહાઝના સમયદર્શક યંત્રમાં જે છાંયડો દશ અંશ પર છે, તેને હું દશ અંશ પાછો હટાવીશ!” તેથી છાંયડો જે સમયદર્શક યંત્ર પર હતો તે દશ અંશ પાછો હટ્યો.
9 This is a writing by Hezekiah king of Judah after his illness and recovery:
૯યહૂદિયાનો રાજા હિઝકિયા માંદગીમાંથી સાજો થયો ત્યારે તેણે જે પ્રાર્થના લખી હતી તે આ છે:
10 I said, “In the prime of my life I must go through the gates of Sheol and be deprived of the remainder of my years.” (Sheol h7585)
૧૦મેં કહ્યું, મારા આયુષ્યના મધ્યકાળમાં હું શેઓલની ભાગળોમાં જવાનો છું; મારાં બાકીના વર્ષોં મારી પાસેથી લઈ લેવામાં આવ્યાં છે. (Sheol h7585)
11 I said, “I will never again see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living; I will no longer look on mankind with those who dwell in this world.
૧૧મેં કહ્યું, હું કદી યહોવાહને જોઈશ નહિ, જીવતાઓની ભૂમિમાં હું યહોવાહને જોઈશ નહિ; હું ફરી કદી મનુષ્યને તથા સંસારના રહેવાસીઓને નિહાળીશ નહિ.
12 My dwelling has been picked up and removed from me like a shepherd’s tent. I have rolled up my life like a weaver; He cuts me off from the loom; from day until night You make an end of me.
૧૨મારું નિવાસસ્થાન ભરવાડોના તંબુની જેમ ઉખેડી અને દૂર કરવામાં આવ્યું છે. વણકરની જેમ મારું જીવન સમેટી લીધું છે; મને તાકામાંથી કાપી નાખવામાં આવ્યો છે. રાત અને દિવસની વચ્ચે તમે મારું જીવન પૂરું કરી નાખો છો.
13 I composed myself until the morning. Like a lion He breaks all my bones; from day until night You make an end of me.
૧૩સવાર સુધી મેં વિલાપ કર્યો; સિંહની જેમ તે મારાં હાડકાં ભાંગી નાખે છે; રાત અને દિવસની વચ્ચે તમે મારું જીવન પૂરું કરી નાખો છો.
14 I chirp like a swallow or crane; I moan like a dove. My eyes grow weak as I look upward. O Lord, I am oppressed; be my security.”
૧૪અબાબીલની જેમ હું કિલકિલાટ કરું છું, હોલાની જેમ હું વિલાપ કરું છું, મારી આંખો ઉચ્ચસ્થાન તરફ જોઈ રહેવાથી નબળી થઈ છે. હે પ્રભુ, હું પીડા પામી રહ્યો છું, મને મદદ કરો.
15 What can I say? He has spoken to me, and He Himself has done this. I will walk slowly all my years because of the anguish of my soul.
૧૫હું શું બોલું? તેઓએ મારી સાથે વાત કરી છે અને તેઓએ જ તે કર્યું છે; મારા જીવની વેદનાને લીધે હું મારી આખી જિંદગી સુધી ધીમે ધીમે ચાલીશ.
16 O Lord, by such things men live, and in all of them my spirit finds life. You have restored me to health and have let me live.
૧૬હે પ્રભુ, તમે મોકલેલું દુઃખ મારા માટે સારું છે; મારું જીવન મને પાછું મળે તો સારું; તમે મને સાજો કર્યો છે અને જીવતો રાખ્યો છે.
17 Surely for my own welfare I had such great anguish; but Your love has delivered me from the pit of oblivion, for You have cast all my sins behind Your back.
૧૭આવા શોકનો અનુભવ કરવો તે મારા લાભને માટે હતું. તમે મને વિનાશના ખાડામાંથી બહાર કાઢ્યો છે; કેમ કે તમે મારાં સર્વ પાપ તમારી પીઠ પાછળ નાખી દીધાં છે.
18 For Sheol cannot thank You; Death cannot praise You. Those who descend to the Pit cannot hope for Your faithfulness. (Sheol h7585)
૧૮કેમ કે શેઓલ તમારી આભારસ્તુતિ કરે નહિ, મરણ તમારાં સ્તોત્ર ગાય નહિ; જેઓ કબરમાં ઊતરે છે તેઓ તમારી વિશ્વસનીયતાની આશા રાખે નહિ. (Sheol h7585)
19 The living, only the living, can thank You, as I do today; fathers will tell their children about Your faithfulness.
૧૯જીવિત વ્યક્તિ, હા, જીવિત વ્યક્તિ તો, જેમ આજે હું કરું છું તેમ, તમારી આભારસ્તુતિ કરશે. પિતા પોતાનાં સંતાનોને તમારી વિશ્વસનીયતા જાહેર કરશે.
20 The LORD will save me; we will play songs on stringed instruments all the days of our lives in the house of the LORD.
૨૦યહોવાહ મારો ઉદ્ધાર કરવાના છે અને અમે અમારી આખી જિંદગી સુધી યહોવાહના ઘરમાં વાજિંત્રો વગાડીને ઉજવણી કરીશું.”
21 Now Isaiah had said, “Prepare a lump of pressed figs and apply it to the boil, and he will recover.”
૨૧હવે યશાયાએ કહ્યું હતું, “અંજીરમાંથી થોડો ભાગ લઈને ગૂમડા પર બાંધો, એટલે તે સાજો થશે.”
22 And Hezekiah had asked, “What will be the sign that I will go up to the house of the LORD?”
૨૨વળી હિઝકિયાએ કહ્યું હતું, “હું યહોવાહના ઘરમાં જઈશ એનું શું ચિહ્ન થશે?”
