< Isaiah 22 >

1 This is the burden against the Valley of Vision: What ails you now, that you have all gone up to the rooftops,
Obunnabbi obukwata ku Kiwonvu ky’Okwolesebwa: Kiki ekikutawanya kaakano, n’okulinnya n’olinnya waggulu ku busolya,
2 O city of commotion, O town of revelry? Your slain did not die by the sword, nor were they killed in battle.
ggwe ekibuga ekijjudde oluyoogaano, ggwe ekibuga eky’amasanyu era eky’ebinyumu? Abantu bo abattibwa, tebaafa kitala newaakubadde okufiira mu lutalo.
3 All your rulers have fled together, captured without a bow. All your fugitives were captured together, having fled to a distant place.
Abakulembeze bo bonna baddukidde wamu; bawambiddwa awatali kulwana. Bonna baakwatibwa ne batwalibwa wamu nga basibe, kubanga badduka.
4 Therefore I said, “Turn away from me, let me weep bitterly! Do not try to console me over the destruction of the daughter of my people.”
Kyenava njogera nti, “Munveeko, mundeke nkaabire ddala nnyo. Temugezaako kunsaasira olw’okuzikirizibwa kw’omuwala w’abantu bange.”
5 For the Lord GOD of Hosts has set a day of tumult and trampling and confusion in the Valley of Vision— of breaking down the walls and crying to the mountains.
Mukama, Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye alina olunaku olw’akatabanguko, olw’okulinyirirwa n’entiisa mu Kiwonvu ky’Okwolesebwa; olunaku olw’okumenya bbugwe, n’okukaabirira ensozi.
6 Elam takes up a quiver, with chariots and horsemen, and Kir uncovers the shield.
Eramu ayambalidde omufuko gw’obusaale, n’atwala n’abavuzi b’amagaali ge n’embalaasi, Kiri asabuukulula engabo.
7 Your choicest valleys are full of chariots, and horsemen are posted at the gates.
Ebiwonvu byo ebisinga obulungi bijjudde amagaali, n’abeebagala embalaasi bassibbwa ku wankaaki.
8 He has uncovered the defenses of Judah. On that day you looked to the weapons in the House of the Forest.
Okwerinda kwa Yuda kuggyiddwawo. Ku lunaku olwo watunuulira ebyokulwanyisa eby’omu Lubiri olw’Ekibira.
9 You saw that there were many breaches in the walls of the City of David. You collected water from the lower pool.
Walaba amabanga agaali mu kwerinda kw’Ekibuga kya Dawudi, wakuŋŋaanya amazzi mu Kidiba eky’Emmanga.
10 You counted the houses of Jerusalem and tore them down to strengthen the wall.
Wabala ebizimbe mu Yerusaalemi n’omenya amayumba okusobola okunyweza bbugwe.
11 You built a reservoir between the walls for the waters of the ancient pool, but you did not look to the One who made it, or consider Him who planned it long ago.
Wasima ekidiba omuterekebwa amazzi wakati w’ebisenge ebibiri, n’okuŋŋaanya ag’ekidiba ekikadde, naye tewatunuulira Oyo eyakisima, wadde okussaamu ekitiibwa Oyo eyakiteekateeka mu biro eby’edda.
12 On that day the Lord GOD of Hosts called for weeping and wailing, for shaven heads and the wearing of sackcloth.
Ku lunaku olwo Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye yalangirira okukaaba n’okukuba ebiwoobe, n’okwemwako enviiri n’okwambala ebibukutu.
13 But look, there is joy and gladness, butchering of cattle and slaughtering of sheep, eating of meat and drinking of wine: “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!”
Naye laba, ssanyu na kujaguza, okubaaga ente n’okutta endiga, okulya ennyama n’okunywa envinnyo. Mwogere nti, “Leka tulye, era tunywe kubanga enkya tunaafa.”
14 The LORD of Hosts has revealed in my hearing: “Until your dying day, this sin of yours will never be atoned for,”
Mukama ow’Eggye akimbikulidde n’aŋŋamba nti, “Ekibi kino tekirisonyiyibwa wadde okuggyibwawo okutuusa lw’olifa,” bw’ayogera Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye.
15 This is what the Lord GOD of Hosts says: “Go, say to Shebna, the steward in charge of the palace:
Bw’ati bw’ayogera Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye nti, “Genda eri omuwanika oyo, eri Sabuna avunaanyizibwa olubiri omugambe nti,
16 What are you doing here, and who authorized you to carve out a tomb for yourself here—to chisel your tomb in the height and cut your resting place in the rock?
Okola ki wano era ani yakuwadde olukusa okwetemera entaana wano, n’otema n’amaanyi entaana yo waggulu mu lwazi, ne weerongoosereza eyo ekifo eky’okuwummuliramu?
17 Look, O mighty man! The LORD is about to shake you violently. He will take hold of you,
“Weegendereze Mukama Katonda anaatera okukuvumbagira, akuggyewo ggwe omusajja ow’amaanyi.
18 roll you into a ball, and sling you into a wide land. There you will die, and there your glorious chariots will remain—a disgrace to the house of your master.
Alikuzingazingako, n’akukanyuga mu nsi engazi, nga bwe yandikanyuze omupiira ogusambwa. Eyo gy’olifiira, era eyo amagaali go ag’ekitiibwa gye galisigala, ggwe ensonyi ez’ennyumba ya Mukama wo.
19 I will remove you from office, and you will be ousted from your position.
Ndikuggya ku ntebe yo, era oliggyibwa mu kifo kyo.
20 On that day I will summon My servant, Eliakim son of Hilkiah.
“Mu biro ebyo nditumya omuweereza wange Eriyakimu mutabani wa Kirukiya.
21 I will clothe him with your robe and tie your sash around him. I will put your authority in his hand, and he will be a father to the dwellers of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah.
Ndimwambaza ekyambalo kyo, ne munyweza n’olukoba lwo, ne mukwasa obuyinza bwo. Aliba kitaawe w’abo ababeera mu Yerusaalemi, n’eri ennyumba ya Yuda.
22 I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
Ndimukwasa ekisumuluzo ky’ennyumba ya Dawudi; bw’aliggulawo tewaliba aggalawo, bw’aliggalawo tewaliba aggulawo.
23 I will drive him like a peg into a firm place, and he will be a throne of glory for the house of his father.
Ndimunyweza mu kifo ng’enkondo ennene, era aliba ntebe ya kitiibwa eri ennyumba ya kitaawe.
24 So they will hang on him the whole burden of his father’s house: the descendants and the offshoots—all the lesser vessels, from bowls to every kind of jar.
Ekitiibwa ky’ennyumba ye kiribeera ku nnyumba ye, ne ku zadde lye ne ku nda ye yonna, ne ku bintu bye ebinywerwamu, okuva ku bibya okutuuka ku nsumbi.”
25 In that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, the peg driven into a firm place will give way; it will be sheared off and fall, and the load upon it will be cut down.” Indeed, the LORD has spoken.
Bw’ati bw’ayogera Katonda ow’Eggye nti, “Ku lunaku olwo, enkondo ennene eyakomererwa mu kifo n’enywera erisalibwa, n’eneguka, n’egwa, n’omugugu gw’ekutte gulisarwako.” Mukama ayogedde.
