< Isaiah 2 >
1 This is the message that was revealed to Isaiah son of Amoz concerning Judah and Jerusalem:
Ko e folofola naʻe hā mai kia ʻIsaia ko e foha ʻo ʻAmosi ʻoku kau ki Siuta mo Selūsalema.
2 In the last days the mountain of the house of the LORD will be established as the chief of the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and all nations will stream to it.
Pea ʻe hoko ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻamui, ʻe fokotuʻumaʻu ʻae moʻunga ʻoe fale ʻo Sihova ʻi he tumutumu ʻoe ngaahi moʻunga, ʻe hiki hake ia ke māʻolunga ʻi he ngaahi moʻunga; pea ʻe tafe ki ai ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē.
3 And many peoples will come and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways so that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
Pea ʻe ʻalu ʻae kakai tokolahi mo nau pehē, “Mou haʻu, ke tau ʻalu hake ki he moʻunga ʻo Sihova, ki he fale ʻoe ʻOtua ʻo Sēkope; pea te ne akonakiʻi ʻakitautolu ʻi hono ngaahi hala, pea te tau ʻaʻeva ʻi hono ngaahi hala: koeʻuhi ʻe ʻalu atu ʻi Saione ʻae fono, pea mo e folofola ʻa Sihova mei Selūsalema.
4 Then He will judge between the nations and arbitrate for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will no longer take up the sword against nation, nor train anymore for war.
Pea te ne fakamaau ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe ngaahi puleʻanga, mo ne valokiʻi ʻae kakai tokolahi: pea te nau tuki ʻa ʻenau ngaahi heletā ko e ngaahi huo, pea mo honau ngaahi tao ko e ngaahi hele ʻauhani: ʻe ʻikai hiki ʻe ha puleʻanga ʻae heletā ki ha puleʻanga, pea ʻe ʻikai te nau toe ako ki he tau.
5 Come, O house of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the LORD.
ʻAe fale ʻo Sēkope, mou haʻu, ke tau ʻaʻeva ʻi he maama ʻo Sihova.
6 For You have abandoned Your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled with influences from the east; they are soothsayers like the Philistines; they strike hands with the children of foreigners.
Ko e moʻoni kuo ke liʻaki hoʻo kakai ko e fale ʻo Sēkope, koeʻuhi kuo fakatokolahi ʻakinautolu mei he potu hahake, pea ʻoku ai honau kikite ʻo hangē ko e kakai Filisitia, pea ʻoku nau fakafiemālieʻi ʻakinautolu ʻi he fānau ʻae kakai muli.
7 Their land is full of silver and gold, with no limit to their treasures; their land is full of horses, with no limit to their chariots.
ʻOku fonu foki ʻa honau fonua ʻi he siliva mo e koula, pea ʻoku ʻikai hano ngataʻanga ʻo ʻenau koloa; pea ʻoku fonu foki ʻa honau fonua ʻi he fanga hoosi, pea ʻoku ʻikai hano ngataʻanga ʻo ʻenau saliote;
8 Their land is full of idols; they bow down to the work of their hands, to what their fingers have made.
ʻOku pito foki ʻa honau fonua ʻi he ngaahi tamapua; ʻoku nau lotu ki he ngāue ʻa honau nima, ʻaia kuo ngaohi ʻe honau louhiʻi nima:
9 So mankind is brought low, and man is humbled— do not forgive them!
Pea ʻoku punou ʻae tangata lāuvale, pea mo e ʻeiki ʻoku ne fakavaivai ia: pea ʻe ʻikai te ke fakamolemole ʻakinautolu.
10 Go into the rocks and hide in the dust from the terror of the LORD and the splendor of His majesty.
Ke ke hū ki he ʻanaʻi maka, mo fakafufū koe ʻi he efu, ʻi he manavahē kia Sihova, mo e nāunau ʻo ʻene māfimafi.
11 The proud look of man will be humbled, and the loftiness of men brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.
ʻE fakavaivai ʻae mata laukau ʻoe tangata, pea ʻe fakahifo ki lalo mo e fielahi ʻae kakai, ka ko Sihova pe ʻe hiki hake ʻi he ʻaho ko ia.
12 For the Day of the LORD of Hosts will come against all the proud and lofty, against all that is exalted— it will be humbled—
He ko e ʻaho ʻo Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau ʻe hoko kiate kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku laukau mo fielahi, pea kiate kinautolu kotoa pē kuo hiki hake; pea ʻe fakavaivaiʻi hifo ia:
13 against all the cedars of Lebanon, lofty and lifted up, against all the oaks of Bashan,
Pea ki he ngaahi sita kotoa pē ʻo Lepanoni, ʻoku hako mo māʻolunga, pea ki he ngaahi oke kotoa pē ʻo Pesani,
14 against all the tall mountains, against all the high hills,
Pea ki he ngaahi moʻunga māʻolunga kotoa pē, pea ki he ngaahi tafungofunga kotoa pē kuo hiki hake,
15 against every high tower, against every fortified wall,
Pea ki he ngaahi fale māʻolunga kotoa pē, pea ki he ngaahi puke kotoa pē kuo ʻāaʻi,
16 against every ship of Tarshish, and against every stately vessel.
Pea ki he ngaahi vaka kotoa pē ʻo Tasisi, pea ki he ngaahi meʻa fakatātā kotoa pē ʻoku matamatalelei.
17 So the pride of man will be brought low, and the loftiness of men will be humbled; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day,
Pea ʻe tuku hifo ai ʻae fieʻeiki ʻae tangata, pea ʻe fakavaivaiʻi mo e fielahi ʻae kakai: ka ko Sihova pe ʻe hiki hake ʻi he ʻaho ko ia.
18 and the idols will vanish completely.
Pea ʻe fakaʻauha ʻe ia ʻae ngaahi tamapua kotoa pē,
19 Men will flee to caves in the rocks and holes in the ground, away from the terror of the LORD and from the splendor of His majesty, when He rises to shake the earth.
Pea te nau hū ki he ngaahi ʻana maka, mo e ngaahi luo ʻi he kelekele, ʻi he manavahē kia Sihova, mo e nāunau ʻo ʻene māfimafi, ʻoka tuʻu hake ia ke lulu fakamanavahēʻi ʻa māmani.
20 In that day men will cast away to the moles and bats their idols of silver and gold— the idols they made to worship.
ʻI he ʻaho ko ia ʻe lī ʻe he tangata ki he ngaahi mole mo e fanga peka, ʻa ʻene ngaahi tamapua siliva, mo ʻene ngaahi tamapua koula, ʻaia naʻe taki taha ngaohi maʻana ke lotu ki ai;
21 They will flee to caverns in the rocks and crevices in the cliffs, away from the terror of the LORD and from the splendor of His majesty, when He rises to shake the earth.
Ke nau ʻalu ki he ngaahi ʻana maka, pea mo e tumutumu ʻoe ngaahi maka hangatāmaki, ʻi he manavahē kia Sihova, pea mo e nāunau ʻo ʻene māfimafi, ʻoka tuʻu hake ia ke lulu fakamanavahēʻi ʻa māmani.
22 Put no more trust in man, who has only the breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he?
Tuku hoʻomou falala ki he tangata, ʻaia ʻoku ʻi hono avaʻi ihu ʻa ʻene mānava: he ko e hā ha meʻa ʻoku faʻa fai ʻe ia?
