Isaiah 15
1 This is the burden against Moab: Ar in Moab is ruined, destroyed in a night! Kir in Moab is devastated, destroyed in a night!
Oracle sur Moab. La nuit même où on la ravage, Ar-Moab périt! La nuit même où on la ravage, Kir-Moab périt!
2 Dibon goes up to its temple to weep at its high places. Moab wails over Nebo, as well as over Medeba. Every head is shaved, every beard is cut off.
On monte à la maison des dieux et à Dibon, sur les hauts lieux, pour pleurer. Moab se lamente sur Nébo et sur Médéba; toutes les têtes sont rasées, toutes les barbes sont coupées.
3 In its streets they wear sackcloth; on the rooftops and in the public squares they all wail, falling down weeping.
On est ceint de sacs dans ses rues; sur ses toits et dans ses places, chacun gémit et fond en larmes.
4 Heshbon and Elealeh cry out; their voices are heard as far as Jahaz. Therefore the soldiers of Moab cry out; their souls tremble within.
Hesbon et Élealé se lamentent, leur voix est entendue jusqu'à Jahats; aussi les guerriers de Moab jettent des cris; son âme est tremblante.
5 My heart cries out over Moab; her fugitives flee as far as Zoar, as far as Eglath-shelishiyah. With weeping they ascend the slope of Luhith; they lament their destruction on the road to Horonaim.
Mon cœur gémit sur Moab, dont les fugitifs courent jusqu'à Tsoar, jusqu'à Églath-Shélishija. Car on monte en pleurant la montée de Luchith; car on fait retentir le cri de la ruine au chemin de Horonajim.
6 The waters of Nimrim are dried up, and the grass is withered; the vegetation is gone, and the greenery is no more.
Même les eaux de Nimrim ne sont que désolation; le gazon est desséché, l'herbe a disparu, il n'y a plus de verdure.
7 So they carry their wealth and belongings over the Brook of the Willows.
Aussi l'épargne qu'ils avaient faite, ce qu'ils avaient mis en réserve, ils l'emportent au torrent des saules.
8 For their outcry echoes to the border of Moab. Their wailing reaches Eglaim; it is heard in Beer-elim.
Et les cris font le tour des frontières de Moab; ses gémissements vont jusqu'à Églaïm; ses gémissements vont jusqu'à Béer-Élim.
9 The waters of Dimon are full of blood, but I will bring more upon Dimon— a lion upon the fugitives of Moab and upon the remnant of the land.
Et les eaux de Dimon sont pleines de sang; et j'enverrai sur Dimon un surcroît de maux: les lions contre les réchappés de Moab, et contre ce qui reste du pays.
