Hosea 11
1 When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called My son.
Quando Israel era menino, eu o amei; e do Egito chamei a meu filho.
2 But the more I called Israel, the farther they departed from Me. They sacrificed to the Baals and burned incense to carved images.
Mas, como eles os chamavam, assim se iam da sua face: sacrificavam a baalins, e queimavam incenso às imagens de escultura.
3 It was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them in My arms, but they never realized that it was I who healed them.
Eu, todavia, ensinei a andar a Ephraim; tomei-os pelos seus braços, mas não conheceram que eu os curava.
4 I led them with cords of kindness, with ropes of love; I lifted the yoke from their necks and bent down to feed them.
Atrai-os com cordas humanas, com cordas de amor, e fui para eles como os que levantam o jugo de sobre as suas queixadas, e lhe dei mantimento.
5 Will they not return to the land of Egypt and be ruled by Assyria because they refused to repent?
Não voltará para a terra do Egito, mas a Assyria será seu rei; porque recusam converter-se.
6 A sword will flash through their cities; it will destroy the bars of their gates and consume them in their own plans.
E ficará a espada sobre as suas cidades, e consumirá os seus ferrolhos, e devorará, por causa dos seus conselhos.
7 My people are bent on turning from Me. Though they call to the Most High, He will by no means exalt them.
Porque o meu povo se inclina a desviar-se de mim; bem que chamam ao altíssimo, nenhum deles se levanta.
8 How could I give you up, O Ephraim? How could I surrender you, O Israel? How could I make you like Admah? How could I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart is turned within Me; My compassion is stirred!
Como te deixaria, ó Ephraim? como te entregaria, ó Israel? como te faria como Adama? te poria como Zeboim? Virou-se em mim o meu coração, todos os meus pezares juntamente estão acendidos.
9 I will not execute the full fury of My anger; I will not turn back to destroy Ephraim. For I am God and not man— the Holy One among you— and I will not come in wrath.
Não executarei o furor da minha ira: não me tornarei para destruir a Ephraim, porque eu sou Deus e não homem, o santo no meio de ti, e não entrarei na cidade.
10 They will walk after the LORD; He will roar like a lion. When He roars, His children will come trembling from the west.
Andarão após o Senhor, ele bramará como leão: bramando pois ele, os filhos do ocidente tremerão.
11 They will come trembling like birds from Egypt and like doves from the land of Assyria. Then I will settle them in their homes, declares the LORD.
Tremendo, se achegarão como um passarinho os do Egito, e como uma pomba os da terra da Assyria, e os farei habitar em suas casas, diz o Senhor.
12 Ephraim surrounds Me with lies, the house of Israel with deceit; but Judah still walks with God and is faithful to the Holy One.
Ephraim me cercou com mentira, e a casa de Israel com engano; mas Judá ainda domina com Deus, e com os santos está fiel.
