Hosea 10
1 Israel was a luxuriant vine, yielding fruit for himself. The more his fruit increased, the more he increased the altars. The better his land produced, the better he made the sacred pillars.
Izrael je prazna trta, sebi prinaša sad. Glede na množico svojega sadu je množil oltarje. Glede na dobroto njegove dežele so naredili čedne podobe.
2 Their hearts are devious; now they must bear their guilt. The LORD will break down their altars and demolish their sacred pillars.
Njihovo srce je razdeljeno, sedaj bodo najdeni pomanjkljivi. Zrušil bo njihove oltarje, oplenil njihove podobe.
3 Surely now they will say, “We have no king, for we do not revere the LORD. What can a king do for us?”
Kajti sedaj bodo rekli: ›Nimamo kralja, ker se nismo bali Gospoda. Kaj naj bi nam torej storil kralj?‹
4 They speak mere words; with false oaths they make covenants. So judgment springs up like poisonous weeds in the furrows of a field.
Govorili so besede, lažno prisegali pri sklepanju zaveze. Tako sodba poganja kakor pikasti mišjak na brazdah polja.
5 The people of Samaria will fear for the calf of Beth-aven. Indeed, its people will mourn with its idolatrous priests— those who rejoiced in its glory— for it has been taken from them into exile.
Prebivalci Samarije bodo trepetali zaradi telet Bet Avena, kajti ljudstvo le-teh bo nad tem žalovalo in duhovniki le-teh, ki so se ob tem veselili, [bodo trepetali] zaradi slave [bogov zlatih telet], zato ker je ta odšla od njih.
6 Yes, it will be carried to Assyria as tribute to the great king. Ephraim will be seized with shame; Israel will be ashamed of its wooden idols.
Prav tako bo le-to odneseno v Asirijo za darilo kralju Jarebu. Efrájim bo prejel sramoto in Izrael se bo sramoval svojega lastnega nasveta.
7 Samaria will be carried off with her king like a twig on the surface of the water.
Glede Samarije, njen kralj je odsekan kakor pena na vodi.
8 The high places of Aven will be destroyed— it is the sin of Israel; thorns and thistles will overgrow their altars. Then they will say to the mountains, “Cover us!” and to the hills, “Fall on us!”
Prav tako bodo uničeni visoki kraji Avena, Izraelov greh. Trnje in osat bosta pognala na njihovih oltarjih in goram bodo rekli: »Pokrijte nas« in hribom: »Padite na nas.«
9 Since the days of Gibeah you have sinned, O Israel, and there you have remained. Did not the battle in Gibeah overtake the sons of iniquity?
Oh Izrael, grešil si od dni Gíbee. Tam so stali, bitka v Gíbei zoper otroke krivičnosti jih ni dosegla.
10 I will chasten them when I please; nations will be gathered against them to put them in bondage for their double transgression.
Po moji želji je, da naj jih kaznujem, in ljudstvo se bo zbralo zoper njih, ko se bodo zvezali v svojih dveh brazdah.
11 Ephraim is a well-trained heifer that loves to thresh; but I will place a yoke on her fair neck. I will harness Ephraim, Judah will plow, and Jacob will break the hard ground.
Efrájim je kakor telica, ki je poučena in rada mendra žito, toda jaz sem šel čez njen lepi vrat. Efrájima bom pripravil, da jaha, Juda bo oral, Jakob pa bo branal.
12 Sow for yourselves righteousness and reap the fruit of loving devotion; break up your unplowed ground. For it is time to seek the LORD until He comes and sends righteousness upon you like rain.
Sejte si v pravičnosti, žanjite v usmiljenju, pobranajte svoja neposejana tla, kajti čas je, da iščete Gospoda, dokler ne pride in na vas dežuje pravičnost.
13 You have plowed wickedness and reaped injustice; you have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your own way and in the multitude of your mighty men,
Orali ste zlobnost, želi ste krivičnost, jedli ste sad laži, ker ste zaupali v svojo pot in v množico svojih mogočnih mož.
14 the roar of battle will rise against your people, so that all your fortresses will be demolished as Shalman devastated Beth-arbel in the day of battle, when mothers were dashed to pieces along with their children.
Zato bo med tvojim ljudstvom vstal nemir in vse tvoje trdnjave bodo oplenjene, kakor je na dan bitke Šalmán oplenil Bet Arbeél. Mati je bila raztreščena na koščke na svojih otrocih.
15 Thus it will be done to you, O Bethel, because of your great wickedness. When the day dawns, the king of Israel will be utterly cut off.
Tako vam bo storil Betel zaradi vaše velike zlobnosti. Zjutraj bo Izraelov kralj popolnoma iztrebljen.
