Hebrews 8
1 The point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,
Ahora bien, de las cosas que estamos diciendo, este es el punto principal: tenemos un sumo sacerdote que tomó su lugar a la diestra del trono de gloria de Dios en el cielo,
2 and who ministers in the sanctuary and true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man.
Ministro del santuario y del tabernáculo verdadero, que fue puesto por Dios, no por el hombre.
3 And since every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, it was necessary for this One also to have something to offer.
Ahora todo sumo sacerdote tiene autoridad para llevar a Dios ofrendas y sacrificios; de modo que es necesario que este hombre, como ellos, tenga algo para una ofrenda.
4 Now if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are already priests who offer gifts according to the law.
Si hubiera estado en la tierra, no habría sido sacerdote en absoluto, porque hay otros sacerdotes que hacen las ofrendas ordenadas por la ley;
5 The place where they serve is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”
Siendo siervos de lo que es una copia y una imagen de las cosas en el cielo, como Moisés, cuando estaba a punto de construir el santuario, tenía órdenes especiales de Dios: porque, mira, dijo, haz todo como el diseño que viste en la montaña.
6 Now, however, Jesus has received a much more excellent ministry, just as the covenant He mediates is better and is founded on better promises.
Pero ahora a obtenido una posición como sumo sacerdote, es más excelente. porque a través de él Dios ha hecho un mejor pacto con el hombre, basado en dar mejores promesas.
7 For if that first covenant had been without fault, no place would have been sought for a second.
Porque si ese primer pacto hubiera sido perfecto, no habría habido lugar para un segundo pacto.
8 But God found fault with the people and said: “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
Porque, protestando contra ellos, dice: He aquí vienen días en que haré un nuevo pacto con la casa de Israel y con la casa de Judá;
9 It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, because they did not abide by My covenant, and I disregarded them,
No como el acuerdo que hice con sus padres cuando los tomé de la mano, para ser su guía de la tierra de Egipto; porque no guardaron el pacto conmigo, y yo los abandoné, dice el Señor.
10 For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds and inscribe them on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they will be My people.
Porque este es el pacto que haré con el pueblo de Israel después de aquellos días, dice él Señor: Pondré mis leyes en sus mentes, las escribiré en sus corazones; y seré su Dios, y ellos serán mi pueblo.
11 No longer will each one teach his neighbor or his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest.
Y no habrá necesidad de que cada hombre enseñe a su hermano o a su prójimo, y diga: “Conoce al Señor, porque todos me conocerán, grandes y pequeños”.
12 For I will forgive their iniquities and will remember their sins no more.”
Y tendré misericordia de sus injusticias, y de sus pecados y de sus iniquidades no me acordaré.
13 By speaking of a new covenant, He has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.
Cuando Dios dice: Un nuevo pacto, ha declarado viejo el primer pacto. Pero cualquier cosa que esté envejeciendo y anticuado, poco le falta para desaparecer.
