Hebrews 4
1 Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be deemed to have fallen short of it.
Kwa hiyo, kwa kuwa bado ahadi ya kuingia rahani iko wazi, tujihadhari ili hata mmoja wenu asije akaikosa.
2 For we also received the good news just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, since they did not share the faith of those who comprehended it.
Kwa maana sisi pia tumesikia Injili iliyohubiriwa kwetu, kama nao walivyosikia; lakini ujumbe ule waliousikia haukuwa na maana kwao, kwa sababu wale waliousikia hawakuuchanganya na imani.
3 Now we who have believed enter that rest. As for the others, it is just as God has said: “So I swore on oath in My anger, ‘They shall never enter My rest.’” And yet His works have been finished since the foundation of the world.
Sasa sisi ambao tumeamini tunaingia katika ile raha, kama vile Mungu alivyosema, “Kwa hiyo nikaapa katika hasira yangu, ‘Kamwe hawataingia rahani mwangu.’” Lakini kazi yake ilikamilika tangu kuumbwa kwa ulimwengu.
4 For somewhere He has spoken about the seventh day in this manner: “And on the seventh day God rested from all His works.”
Kwa maana mahali fulani amezungumza kuhusu siku ya saba, akisema: “Katika siku ya saba Mungu alipumzika kutoka kazi zake zote.”
5 And again, as He says in the passage above: “They shall never enter My rest.”
Tena hapo juu asema, “Kamwe hawataingia rahani mwangu.”
6 Since, then, it remains for some to enter His rest, and since those who formerly heard the good news did not enter because of their disobedience,
Kwa hiyo inabaki kuwa wazi kwa wengine kuingia, nao wale wa kwanza waliopokea Injili walishindwa kuingia kwa sababu ya kutokutii.
7 God again designated a certain day as “Today,” when a long time later He spoke through David as was just stated: “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.”
Kwa hiyo Mungu ameweka siku nyingine, akaiita Leo, akisema kwa kinywa cha Daudi baadaye sana, kwa maneno yaliyotangulia kunenwa: “Leo, kama mkiisikia sauti yake, msiifanye mioyo yenu migumu.”
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.
Kwa maana kama Yoshua alikuwa amewapa raha, Mungu hangesema tena baadaye kuhusu siku nyingine.
9 There remains, then, a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
Kwa hiyo basi, imebaki raha ya Sabato kwa ajili ya watu wa Mungu;
10 For whoever enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His.
kwa kuwa kila mmoja aingiaye katika raha ya Mungu pia hupumzika kutoka kazi zake mwenyewe, kama vile Mungu alivyopumzika kutoka kazi zake.
11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same pattern of disobedience.
Basi, na tufanye bidii kuingia katika raha hiyo, ili kwamba asiwepo yeyote atakayeanguka kwa kufuata mfano wao wa kutokutii.
12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Kwa maana Neno la Mungu li hai tena lina nguvu. Lina makali kuliko upanga wowote wenye makali kuwili, hivyo linachoma hata kuzigawanya nafsi na roho, viungo na mafuta yaliyo ndani yake; tena li jepesi kuyatambua mawazo na makusudi ya moyo.
13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
Wala hakuna kiumbe chochote kilichofichika machoni pa Mungu. Kila kitu kimefunuliwa na kiko wazi machoni pake yeye ambaye kwake ni lazima tutatoa hesabu.
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we profess.
Kwa kuwa tunaye Kuhani Mkuu kuliko wote ambaye ameingia mbinguni, Yesu Mwana wa Mungu, basi na tushikamane sana kwa uthabiti na ule ukiri wa imani yetu.
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin.
Kwa kuwa hatuna Kuhani Mkuu asiyeweza kuchukuliana na sisi katika udhaifu wetu, lakini tunaye mmoja ambaye alijaribiwa kwa kila namna, kama vile sisi tujaribiwavyo: lakini yeye hakutenda dhambi.
16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Basi na tukikaribie kiti cha rehema kwa ujasiri, ili tupewe rehema na kupata neema ya kutusaidia wakati wa mahitaji.
