Hebrews 3
1 Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, set your focus on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.
Darum, heilige Brüder, der himmlischen Berufung Genossen, achtet auf den Sendboten und Hohenpriester unseres Bekenntnisses, Jesus,
2 He was faithful to the One who appointed Him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house.
wie er seinem Urheber treu war, so wie auch Moses in seinem ganzen Hause.
3 For Jesus has been counted worthy of greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself.
Denn ihm kommt größere Herrlichkeit zu als Moses, in dem Maße als der an Würde über dem Hause steht, der dasselbe bereitet hat.
4 And every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.
Denn jedes Haus wird von jemand bereitet; der aber alles bereitet hat, ist Gott.
5 Now Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house, testifying to what would be spoken later.
Und Moses ist in seinem ganzen Hause treu als ein Diener zum Zeugnis für das was verkündet werden sollte,
6 But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are His house, if we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope of which we boast.
Christus aber in seinem Hause; sein Haus sind wir, wenn wir die Zuversicht und den Ruhm der Hoffnung bis zum Ende fest bewahren.
7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear His voice,
Darum wie der heilige Geist spricht: Heute, wenn ihr seine Stimme höret,
8 do not harden your hearts, as you did in the rebellion, in the day of testing in the wilderness,
so verhärtet nicht eure Herzen, wie in der Erbitterung am Tage der Versuchung in der Wüste,
9 where your fathers tested and tried Me, and for forty years saw My works.
da mich eure Väter versuchten mit Proben, die doch meine Werke sahen vierzig Jahre lang;
10 Therefore I was angry with that generation, and I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known My ways.’
darum zürnte ich diesem Geschlechte und sprach: allezeit gehen sie irre mit ihrem Herzen. Sie aber erkannten meine Wege nicht,
11 So I swore on oath in My anger, ‘They shall never enter My rest.’”
so daß ich schwur in meinem Zorne: sie sollen nicht in meine Ruhe eingehen.
12 See to it, brothers, that none of you has a wicked heart of unbelief that turns away from the living God.
Sehet zu, Brüder, daß nicht in einem von euch das böse Herz des Unglaubens aufkomme im Abfall vom lebendigen Gott,
13 But exhort one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
sondern ermahnt euch jeden Tag, so lange man heute sagt, daß nicht einer von euch verhärtet werde durch Betrug der Sünde.
14 We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly to the end the assurance we had at first.
Denn wir sind Teilhaber an Christus geworden, sofern wir nämlich den Anfang unserer Zuversicht bis zum Ende fest behalten.
15 As it has been said: “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as you did in the rebellion.”
Wenn es heißt: Heute, wenn ihr seine Stimme höret, so verhärtet nicht eure Herzen, wie in der Erbitterung -
16 For who were the ones who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt?
wer waren denn die Hörer, welche die Erbitterung gemacht haben? Waren es nicht alle, die aus Aegypten durch Moses kamen?
17 And with whom was God angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?
Wer sind die Leute, denen er zürnte vierzig Jahre? Nicht die, welche gesündigt hatten, deren Leiber fielen in der Wüste?
18 And to whom did He swear that they would never enter His rest? Was it not to those who disobeyed?
Welchen hat er zugeschworen, sie sollen nicht in seine Ruhe kommen, als denen die ungehorsam waren?
19 So we see that it was because of their unbelief that they were unable to enter.
Und wir sehen, daß es ihnen nicht gelang hineinzukommen, des Unglaubens wegen.
