Galatians 5

1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be encumbered once more by a yoke of slavery.

நாம் சுதந்திரமுடையவர்களாய் இருப்பதற்காகவே கிறிஸ்து நம்மை விடுதலையாக்கியிருக்கிறார். எனவே நீங்கள், உறுதியாய் நிலைத்திருங்கள். மீண்டும் நீங்கள் உங்களை அடிமைத்தன நுகத்தின் சுமைக்கு உட்படுத்தாதபடி காத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.

2 Take notice: I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all.

பவுலாகிய நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்வதைக் கவனமாய் கேளுங்கள். நீங்கள் விருத்தசேதனம் செய்துகொண்டால், கிறிஸ்துவால் உங்களுக்கு ஒரு பயனும் இல்லை என்றே சொல்கிறேன்.

3 Again I testify to every man who gets himself circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law.

நான் மீண்டும் சொல்கிறேன், விருத்தசேதனம் செய்துகொள்ள விரும்பும் ஒவ்வொருவனும், மோசேயின் சட்டம் முழுவதையும் கைக்கொள்வதற்கு கடமைப்பட்டிருக்கிறான்.

4 You who are trying to be justified by the law have been severed from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.

மோசேயின் சட்டத்தினால் நீதிமான்கள் ஆக்கப்பட முயற்சிக்கிற நீங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவிலிருந்து விலகிவிட்டீர்கள்; நீங்கள் கிருபையிலிருந்து விழுந்துவிட்டீர்கள்.

5 But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the hope of righteousness.

ஆனால் நாங்களோ, எதிர்பார்த்திருக்கும் நீதிக்காக பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் மூலமாய் விசுவாசத்தில் ஆவலுடன் காத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறோம்.

6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. All that matters is faith, expressed through love.

ஏனெனில் கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவில் ஒருவன் விருத்தசேதனத்தைச் செய்துகொண்டானா அல்லது அதைச் செய்யாதிருக்கிறானா என்பதில் ஒரு பிரயோஜனமும் இல்லை. அன்பின் செயல்களினால் வெளிக்காட்டப்படுகிற விசுவாசம் மட்டுமே முக்கியமானது.

7 You were running so well. Who has obstructed you from obeying the truth?

இந்தப் பந்தயத்தில் நீங்கள் நன்றாய் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருந்தீர்கள். சத்தியத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாதபடி உங்களைத் தடைசெய்தது யார்?

8 Such persuasion does not come from the One who calls you.

இவ்விதமான தூண்டுதல் உங்களை அழைத்த இறைவனால் ஏற்பட்ட ஒன்று அல்ல.

9 A little leaven works through the whole batch of dough.

“ஒரு சிறிதளவு புளித்தமாவு பிசைந்தமாவு முழுவதையும் புளிப்பூட்டுகிறதே.”

10 I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is troubling you will bear the judgment, whoever he may be.

நீங்கள் வேறுவிதமாய்ச் சிந்திக்கமாட்டீர்கள் என்று நான் உங்களைக்குறித்து கர்த்தரில் மனவுறுதி கொண்டிருக்கிறேன். ஆனால், உங்களைக் குழப்பமடையச் செய்கிறவன் எவனோ, அவன் யாராயிருந்தாலும் தண்டனையைப் பெறுவான்.

11 Now, brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished.

பிரியமானவர்களே, விருத்தசேதனம் அவசியம்தான் என்று நான் இன்னும் பிரசங்கித்தால், நான் ஏன் இன்னும் யூதர்களால் துன்புறுத்தப்படுகிறேன்? அப்படி நான் பிரசங்கிப்பது உண்மை என்றால், கிறிஸ்துவின் சிலுவையின் காரணமாய் வரும் துன்புறுத்தல் நின்று போயிருக்குமே.

12 As for those who are agitating you, I wish they would proceed to emasculate themselves!

விருத்தசேதனம் அவசியம் என்று உங்களைக் குழப்பமடையச் செய்கிறவர்களோ, இன்னும்கூட தங்கள் முழு உறுப்பையுமே வெட்டிக்கொள்வதையே நான் விரும்புகிறேன்.

13 For you, brothers, were called to freedom; but do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Rather, serve one another in love.

எனக்கு பிரியமானவர்களே, சுதந்திரமாய் இருப்பதற்காகவே நீங்கள் அழைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். ஆனால் உங்கள் சுதந்திரத்தை மாம்சத்தின் ஆசைகளை அனுபவிப்பதற்குச் சாதகமாகப் பயன்படுத்தாதீர்கள். அன்பினாலே ஒருவருக்கு ஒருவர் பணிசெய்யுங்கள்.

14 The entire law is fulfilled in a single decree: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

“நீ உன்னில் அன்பாய் இருப்பதுபோல், உன் அயலவனிலும் அன்பாய் இரு” என்கிற, ஒரே கட்டளையிலே மோசேயின் சட்டம் முழுவதுமே அடங்கியிருக்கிறது.

15 But if you keep on biting and devouring one another, watch out, or you will be consumed by one another.

ஆனால் நீங்கள் ஒருவரையொருவர் கடித்து விழுங்குகிறவர்களாய் இருந்தால், கவனமாயிருங்கள். ஏனென்றால், நீங்கள் ஒருவரால் ஒருவர் அழிக்கப்படுவீர்கள்.

16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

எனவே, நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன், பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவருடைய வழிநடத்துதலின்படி வாழுங்கள். அப்பொழுது உங்கள் மாம்சத்தின்படி எழும் ஆசைகளைத் தீர்த்துக்கொள்வதில் ஈடுபடமாட்டீர்கள்.

17 For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want.

ஏனெனில் மாம்ச இயல்பு, பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரின் வழிநடத்துதலுக்கு முரண்பாடான ஆசைகளைத் தூண்டுகிறது. பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரோ, மாம்ச இயல்புக்கு முரண்பட்ட விதத்திலேயே வழிநடத்துகிறார். அவை இரண்டுமே ஒன்றுக்கொன்று முரண்பாடாய் இருக்கின்றன. இதனாலேயே நீங்கள் விரும்புவதை உங்களால் செய்ய முடியாதிருக்கிறது.

18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

ஆனால் நீங்கள் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரால் வழிநடத்தப்பட்டால், நீங்கள் மோசேயின் சட்டத்துக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டவர்களல்ல.

19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery;

மாம்ச இயல்பின் செயற்பாடுகள் வெளிப்படையானவை, அவையாவன: முறைகேடான பாலுறவு, அசுத்த பழக்கங்கள், காமவேட்கை;

20 idolatry and sorcery; hatred, discord, jealousy, and rage; rivalries, divisions, factions,

விக்கிரக வழிபாடு, மாந்திரீகம்; பகைமை, தகராறு, எரிச்சல் குணம், கோபம், சுயநலம், பிரிவினைகள், பேதங்கள்,

21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

பொறாமை; குடிவெறி, களியாட்டம் போன்றவைகளே. நான் உங்களை முன்பு எச்சரித்ததுபோலவே இப்பொழுதும் எச்சரிக்கிறேன். இப்படிப்பட்ட காரியங்களைச் செய்கிறவர்கள், இறைவனுடைய அரசில் உரிமை பெறுவதில்லை.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

ஆனால் ஆவியானவரின் கனியோ, அன்பு, சந்தோஷம், சமாதானம், பொறுமை, தயவு, நற்குணம், உண்மைத்தனம்,

23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

சாந்தகுணம், சுயக்கட்டுப்பாடு என்பனவாகும். இவைகளுக்கு முரணான எந்தவித சட்டமும் இல்லை.

24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவுக்கு உரியவர்கள், தங்கள் மாம்சத்தின் இயல்பை, அதன் தீவிர உணர்ச்சிகளுடனும் ஆசைகளுடனும் சிலுவையில் அறைந்திருக்கிறார்கள்.

25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us walk in step with the Spirit.

நாம் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரால் வாழ்கிறபடியால், ஆவியானவருடனேயே ஒவ்வொரு காலடியையும் எடுத்துவைப்போம்.

26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying one another.

நாம் வீண்பெருமை கொண்டவர்களாய் இருக்கக்கூடாது. மற்றவர்களை எரிச்சல் மூட்டுகிறவர்களாகவோ, ஒருவர்மேல் ஒருவர் பொறாமை கொள்கிறவர்களாகவோ இருக்கக்கூடாது.
