Ezekiel 36
1 “And you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel and say: O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD.
Toi, fils de l'homme, prophétise aux montagnes d'Israël, et dis: « Montagnes d'Israël, écoutez la parole de Yahvé.
2 This is what the Lord GOD says: Because the enemy has said of you, ‘Aha! The ancient heights have become our possession,’
Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: Parce que l'ennemi a dit contre vous: « Ah! » et « Les anciens hauts lieux sont à nous ».
3 therefore prophesy and declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: Because they have made you desolate and have trampled you on every side, so that you became a possession of the rest of the nations and were taken up in slander by the lips of their talkers,
prophétise donc, et dis: « Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Parce que, parce qu'on t'a dévasté, parce qu'on t'a englouti de toutes parts, afin que tu sois un bien pour le reste des nations, parce que tu es sur les lèvres des bavards, sur les mauvaises langues des peuples »
4 therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD. This is what the Lord GOD says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, to the desolate ruins and abandoned cities, which have become a spoil and a mockery to the rest of the nations around you.
c'est pourquoi, montagnes d'Israël, écoutez la parole du Seigneur Yahvé: Le Seigneur Yahvé dit aux montagnes et aux collines, aux cours d'eau et aux vallées, aux déserts et aux villes abandonnées, qui sont devenues la proie et la risée du reste des nations d'alentour;
5 Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Surely in My burning zeal I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, who took My land as their own possession with wholehearted joy and utter contempt, so that its pastureland became plunder.
c'est pourquoi le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Certes, dans le feu de ma jalousie, j'ai parlé contre le reste des nations et contre tout Édom, qui se sont attribué mon pays pour en faire une possession, avec la joie de tout leur cœur, avec le dépit de l'âme, pour le jeter en proie. »'
6 Therefore, prophesy concerning the land of Israel and tell the mountains and hills, the ravines and valleys, that this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I have spoken in My burning zeal because you have endured the reproach of the nations.
C'est pourquoi prophétise sur le pays d'Israël, et dis aux montagnes, aux collines, aux cours d'eau et aux vallées: « Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Voici que je parle dans ma jalousie et dans ma colère, parce que vous avez porté l'opprobre des nations. »
7 Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: I have sworn with an uplifted hand that surely the nations around you will endure reproach of their own.
C'est pourquoi le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « J'ai juré: « Les nations qui sont autour de toi porteront leur honte.
8 But you, O mountains of Israel, will produce branches and bear fruit for My people Israel, for they will soon come home.
"''Mais vous, montagnes d'Israël, vous pousserez vos rameaux et vous donnerez votre fruit à mon peuple d'Israël, car il est tout près de venir.
9 For behold, I am on your side; I will turn toward you, and you will be tilled and sown.
Car voici, je suis pour vous, je viendrai chez vous, et vous serez cultivés et ensemencés.
10 I will multiply the people upon you—the house of Israel in its entirety. The cities will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt.
Je multiplierai les hommes sur vous, toute la maison d'Israël, toute la maison d'Israël. Les villes seront habitées et les ruines seront bâties.
11 I will fill you with people and animals, and they will multiply and be fruitful. I will make you as inhabited as you once were, and I will make you prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
Je multiplierai sur toi les hommes et les animaux. Ils se multiplieront et seront féconds. Je te ferai habiter comme avant, et tu feras mieux qu'à tes débuts. Alors vous saurez que je suis Yahvé.
12 Yes, I will cause My people Israel to walk upon you; they will possess you, and you will be their inheritance, and you will no longer deprive them of their children.
Oui, je ferai en sorte que des hommes marchent sur toi, mon peuple Israël. Ils te posséderont, tu seras leur héritage, et tu ne les priveras plus jamais de leurs enfants. »
13 For this is what the Lord GOD says: Because people say to you, ‘You devour men and deprive your nation of its children,’
"'Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Parce qu'on te dit: 'Tu es un dévoreur d'hommes, et tu as été un endeuillé de ta nation';
14 therefore you will no longer devour men or deprive your nation of its children, declares the Lord GOD.
c'est pourquoi tu ne dévoreras plus d'hommes, et tu n'endeuilleras plus ta nation, dit le Seigneur Yahvé.
15 I will no longer allow the taunts of the nations to be heard against you, and you will no longer endure the reproach of the peoples or cause your nation to stumble, declares the Lord GOD.”
« Je ne te laisserai plus entendre la honte des nations. Tu ne porteras plus l'opprobre des peuples, et tu ne feras plus trébucher ta nation, dit le Seigneur Yahvé.'"
16 Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée, en ces termes:
17 “Son of man, when the people of Israel lived in their land, they defiled it by their own ways and deeds. Their behavior before Me was like the uncleanness of a woman’s impurity.
« Fils d'homme, lorsque la maison d'Israël habitait dans son pays, elle l'a souillé par ses voies et par ses actes. Leur conduite devant moi était comme la souillure d'une femme dans son impureté.
18 So I poured out My wrath upon them because of the blood they had shed on the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols.
C'est pourquoi j'ai répandu ma colère sur eux, à cause du sang qu'ils ont versé sur le pays, et parce qu'ils l'ont souillé par leurs idoles.
19 I dispersed them among the nations, and they were scattered throughout the lands. I judged them according to their ways and deeds.
Je les ai dispersés parmi les nations, et ils se sont dispersés dans les pays. Je les ai jugés selon leur voie et selon leurs actes.
20 And wherever they went among the nations, they profaned My holy name, because it was said of them, ‘These are the people of the LORD, yet they had to leave His land.’
Lorsqu'ils arrivèrent dans les nations où ils allèrent, ils profanèrent mon saint nom, car on disait d'eux: « C'est le peuple de l'Éternel, et ils ont quitté son pays ».
21 But I had concern for My holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations to which they had gone.
Mais moi, j'ai eu égard à mon saint nom, que la maison d'Israël avait profané parmi les nations où elle était allée.
22 Therefore tell the house of Israel that this is what the Lord GOD says: It is not for your sake that I will act, O house of Israel, but for My holy name, which you profaned among the nations to which you went.
« C'est pourquoi tu diras à la maison d'Israël: Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Je ne fais pas cela à cause de toi, maison d'Israël, mais à cause de mon saint nom, que tu as profané parmi les nations où tu es allé.
23 I will show the holiness of My great name, which has been profaned among the nations—the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, declares the Lord GOD, when I show My holiness in you before their eyes.
Je sanctifierai mon grand nom, qui a été profané parmi les nations, que vous avez profané parmi elles. Alors les nations sauront que je suis Yahvé, dit le Seigneur Yahvé, quand je serai sanctifié en vous sous leurs yeux.
24 For I will take you from among the nations and gather you out of all the countries, and I will bring you back into your own land.
"''Car je vous prendrai d'entre les nations, je vous rassemblerai de tous les pays, et je vous amènerai dans votre pays.
25 I will also sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all your impurities and all your idols.
Je ferai sur vous une aspersion d'eau pure, et vous serez purs. Je vous purifierai de toutes vos souillures et de toutes vos idoles.
26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
Je vous donnerai un cœur nouveau et je mettrai en vous un esprit nouveau. J'ôterai de votre chair le cœur de pierre, et je vous donnerai un cœur de chair.
27 And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes and to carefully observe My ordinances.
Je mettrai mon esprit en vous, et je ferai en sorte que vous marchiez selon mes lois. Tu observeras mes ordonnances et tu les mettras en pratique.
28 Then you will live in the land that I gave your forefathers; you will be My people, and I will be your God.
Vous habiterez dans le pays que j'ai donné à vos pères. Vous serez mon peuple, et je serai votre Dieu.
29 I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will summon the grain and make it plentiful, and I will not bring famine upon you.
Je vous délivrerai de toutes vos impuretés. J'appellerai le blé et je le multiplierai, et je ne vous imposerai pas la famine.
30 I will also make the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field plentiful, so that you will no longer bear reproach among the nations on account of famine.
Je multiplierai les fruits des arbres et les produits des champs, afin que vous n'ayez plus à souffrir de la famine parmi les nations.
31 Then you will remember your evil ways and wicked deeds, and you will loathe yourselves for your iniquities and abominations.
"''Alors vous vous souviendrez de vos mauvaises voies, de vos actions qui n'étaient pas bonnes, et vous vous dégoûterez à vos propres yeux de vos iniquités et de vos abominations.
32 It is not for your sake that I will act, declares the Lord GOD—let it be known to you. Be ashamed and disgraced for your ways, O house of Israel!
Je ne fais pas cela à cause de vous, dit le Seigneur Yahvé. « Que cela vous soit connu. Soyez honteux et confus de vos voies, maison d'Israël. »
33 This is what the Lord GOD says: On the day I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be resettled and the ruins to be rebuilt.
"'Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Le jour où je vous purifierai de toutes vos iniquités, je ferai en sorte que les villes soient habitées et que les ruines soient bâties.
34 The desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass through.
Le pays qui était dévasté sera cultivé au lieu d'être une désolation aux yeux de tous ceux qui passaient par là.
35 Then they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden. The cities that were once ruined, desolate, and destroyed are now fortified and inhabited.’
Ils diront: « Cette terre désolée est devenue comme le jardin d'Eden ». Les villes désertes, désolées et en ruines sont fortifiées et habitées.'
36 Then the nations around you that remain will know that I, the LORD, have rebuilt what was destroyed, and I have replanted what was desolate. I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will do it.
Alors les nations qui resteront autour de toi sauront que moi, Yahvé, j'ai bâti les ruines et planté les ruines. Moi, Yahvé, je l'ai dit et je le ferai. »
37 This is what the Lord GOD says: Once again I will hear the plea of the house of Israel and do for them this: I will multiply their people like a flock.
"'Le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Pour cela, d'ailleurs, je serai sollicité par la maison d'Israël, pour le faire pour eux: Je les multiplierai en hommes comme un troupeau.
38 Like the numerous flocks for sacrifices at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts, so the ruined cities will be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”
Comme le troupeau pour les sacrifices, comme le troupeau de Jérusalem lors de ses fêtes, ainsi les villes désertes seront remplies de troupeaux d'hommes. Alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé.'"
