Ezekiel 35

1 Moreover, the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Das Wort des Herrn erging an mich:

2 “Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir and prophesy against it,

"Auf, Menschensohn! Richt dein Gesicht nach dem Gebirge Seïrs hin und prophezeie ihm

3 and declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I am against you, O Mount Seir. I will stretch out My hand against you and make you a desolate waste.

und sprich zu ihm: So spricht der Herr, der Herr: 'Ich will an dich, Gebirge Seïr, und strecke meine Hand aus wider dich und mache dich zur öden Wüstenei.

4 I will turn your cities into ruins, and you will become a desolation. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

In Schutt verwandle ich dir deine Städte; du selbst sollst eine Wüste werden, daß du erfährst: Ich bin der Herr.

5 Because you harbored an ancient hatred and delivered the Israelites over to the sword in the time of their disaster at the final stage of their punishment,

Weil ewige Feindschaft du gehegt, die Söhne Israels dem Schwert entgegentriebst zu ihrer Unglückszeit, zur Zeit, da Missetat zum Ende führte,

6 therefore as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I will give you over to bloodshed and it will pursue you. Since you did not hate bloodshed, it will pursue you.

darum, so wahr ich lebe', ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn, 'ich mache dich zu Blut. Blutschuld verfolge dich! Da du nicht feind dem Blutvergießen warst, verfolg' dich selber blutige Schuld!

7 I will make Mount Seir a desolate waste and will cut off from it those who come and go.

Ich mache das Gebirge Seïr zur öden Wüste, und was da kommt und geht, vertilge ich daraus.

8 I will fill its mountains with the slain; those killed by the sword will fall on your hills, in your valleys, and in all your ravines.

Ich fülle deine Berge mit Erschlagnen an. Auf deinen Hügeln und in deinen Tälern, an allen deinen Bächen liegen Schwertdurchbohrte.

9 I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities will not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

Ich wandle dich in ewige Wüstenei, und deine Städte bleiben unbewohnt, daß ihr erfahrt, daß ich der Herr.

10 Because you have said, ‘These two nations and countries will be ours, and we will possess them,’ even though the LORD was there,

Weil du gesagt: "Zwei Völker und zwei Länder sind jetzt mein. Wir wollen in Besitz sie nehmen", und doch ist dort der Herr;

11 therefore as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I will treat you according to the anger and jealousy you showed in your hatred against them, and I will make Myself known among them when I judge you.

darum, so wahr ich lebe', ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn, 'verfahre ich, wie es dein Zorn verdient und deine Eifersucht, mit der du gegen sie in deinem Haß verfahren. Ich mach mich dadurch kenntlich, daß ich dich strafe.

12 Then you will know that I, the LORD, have heard every contemptuous word you uttered against the mountains of Israel when you said, ‘They are desolate; they are given to us to devour!’

Und du erfährst, daß ich, der Herr, all deine Lästerungen angehört, die gegen Israels Gebirg' du ausgestoßen: "Es ist zur Wüstenei geworden und uns zum Fraße überlassen".

13 You boasted against Me with your mouth and multiplied your words against Me. I heard it Myself!

Ihr führtet Prahlereien gegen mich in eurem Mund, und führtet freche Reden wider mich. Ich selber hörte es.'"

14 This is what the Lord GOD says: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate.

So spricht der Herr, der Herr: "Ich mache dich zur Wüste, aller Welt zur Freude.

15 As you rejoiced when the inheritance of the house of Israel became desolate, so will I do to you. You will become a desolation, O Mount Seir, and so will all of Edom. Then they will know that I am the LORD.

Wie deine Freude über Israels verwüstetes Gebiet verdient, also verfahre ich mit dir. Zur Wüste soll Seïrs Gebirge werden, in seinem ganzen Umfang Edom, daß man erfährt, daß ich der Herr."
