< Ezekiel 22 >

1 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Awurade asɛm baa me nkyɛn se:
2 “As for you, son of man, will you judge her? Will you pass judgment on the city of bloodshed? Then confront her with all her abominations
“Onipa ba, wubebu no atɛn ana? Wubebu saa mogyahwiegu kuropɔn yi atɛn ana? Ɛno de fa ne nneyɛe a ɛyɛ akyiwade no nyinaa si nʼanim
3 and tell her that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘O city who brings her own doom by shedding blood within her walls and making idols to defile herself,
na ka se: ‘Sɛɛ na Otumfo Awurade se: Wo kuropɔn a ɔnam mogyahwiegu so de nnome aba ne ho so na ɔde ahoni a ɔyɛ agu ne ho fi,
4 you are guilty of the blood you have shed, and you are defiled by the idols you have made. You have brought your days to a close and have come to the end of your years. Therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations and a mockery to all the lands.
woadi fɔ wɔ mogya a woahwie agu na woagu wo ho fi wɔ ahoni a woayɛ nti. Woama wo nna abɛn, na wo mfe awiei no aba. Enti mɛyɛ wo ahohorade wɔ amanaman no mu, ne akyiwade wɔ amantam no nyinaa mu.
5 Those near and far will mock you, O infamous city, full of turmoil.
Wɔn a wɔbɛn ne wɔn a wɔwɔ akyirikyiri bedi wo ho fɛw, wo Kuropɔn a wunni anuonyam, na basabasayɛ ahyɛ no ma.
6 See how every prince of Israel within you has used his power to shed blood.
“‘Hwɛ sɛnea Israel mmapɔmma a wɔwɔ wo mu no mu biara de ne tumi hwie mogya gu.
7 Father and mother are treated with contempt. Within your walls the foreign resident is exploited, the fatherless and the widow are oppressed.
8 You have despised My holy things and profaned My Sabbaths.
Woabu mʼakronkronne animtiaa na woagu me homenna ho fi.
9 Among you are slanderous men bent on bloodshed; within you are those who eat on the mountain shrines and commit acts of indecency.
Wo mu na mmarima ntwatosofo a wɔpɛ sɛ wohwie mogya gu wɔ, wɔn a wodidi wɔ sorɔnsorɔmmea abosonnan mu, na wɔyɛ ahohorade.
10 In you they have uncovered the nakedness of their fathers; in you they violate women during their menstrual impurity.
Wo mu na wɔn a wogu wɔn agyanom mpa ho fi wɔ; wɔn a wɔne mmea a wɔabu wɔn nsa, na wɔn ho ntew da no wɔ wo mu.
11 One man commits an abomination with his neighbor’s wife; another wickedly defiles his daughter-in-law; and yet another violates his sister, his own father’s daughter.
12 In you they take bribes to shed blood. You engage in usury, take excess interest, and extort your neighbors. But Me you have forgotten, declares the Lord GOD.
Wo mu na nnipa gye adanmude ka mogya gu; wogye nsiho ne mfaso a ɛboro so fi wɔn mfɛfo nkyɛn de nya wɔn ho bebree. Na mo werɛ afi me, Otumfo Awurade na ose.
13 Now look, I strike My hands together against your unjust gain and against the blood you have shed in your midst.
“‘Ampa ara mɛbɔ me nsam agu wʼasisi ahonya ne mogya a woahwie agu no so.
14 Will your courage endure or your hands be strong in the day I deal with you? I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will act.
Wʼakokoduru betumi agyina anaasɛ wo nsa bɛyɛ den da a mene wo benya no ana? Me Awurade na akasa, na mɛyɛ.
15 I will disperse you among the nations and scatter you throughout the lands; I will purge your uncleanness.
Mɛhwete wo mu agu amanaman no so, na mabɔ wo apansam amantam no mu; na mede wo afideyɛ aba nʼawie.
16 And when you have defiled yourself in the eyes of the nations, then you will know that I am the LORD.’”
Sɛ wogu wo ho fi wɔ amanaman no mu a, wubehu sɛ mene Awurade no.’”
17 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Afei, Awurade asɛm baa me nkyɛn se:
18 “Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to Me. All of them are copper, tin, iron, and lead inside the furnace; they are but the dross of silver.
“Onipa ba, Israelfi abɛyɛ dwetɛ ase fi ama me; wɔn nyinaa yɛ kɔbere, sanyaa, dade ne sumpii a wɔagyaw wɔ fononoo mu. Wɔyɛ dwetɛfi nko ara.
19 Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because all of you have become dross, behold, I will gather you into Jerusalem.
20 Just as one gathers silver, copper, iron, lead, and tin into the furnace to melt with a fiery blast, so I will gather you in My anger and wrath, leave you there, and melt you.
Sɛnea nnipa boaboa dwetɛ, kɔbere, sumpii ne sanyaa ano hyɛ fononoo mu de ogyatannaa a ano yɛ den nan no, saa ara na mefi mʼabufuw ne mʼabufuwhyew mu aboaboa mo ano wɔ kuropɔn no mu na manan mo.
21 Yes, I will gather you together and blow on you with the fire of My wrath, and you will be melted within the city.
22 As silver is melted in a furnace, so you will be melted within the city. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have poured out My wrath upon you.’”
Sɛnea wɔnan dwetɛ wɔ fononoo mu no, saa ara na mobɛnan wɔ ne mu na moahu sɛ me Awurade na mahwie mʼabufuwhyew agu mo so.’”
23 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Na Awurade asɛm baa me nkyɛn bio se:
24 “Son of man, say to her, ‘In the day of indignation, you are a land that has not been cleansed, upon which no rain has fallen.’
“Onipa ba, ka kyerɛ asase no se, ‘Woyɛ asase a wonnwiraa anaa osu ntɔɔ wo so wɔ abufuwhyew da no.’
25 The conspiracy of the princes in her midst is like a roaring lion tearing its prey. They devour the people, seize the treasures and precious things, and multiply the widows within her.
Ne mmapɔmma abɔ pɔw bɔne wɔ ne mu te sɛ gyata a ɔbobɔ mu na ɔtetew ne hanam mu, wɔwe nnipa nam, wɔfa ademude ne nneɛma a ɛsom bo na wɔma akunafo dɔɔso wɔ ne mu.
26 Her priests do violence to My law and profane My holy things. They make no distinction between the holy and the common, and they fail to distinguish between the clean and the unclean. They disregard My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.
Nʼasɔfo bu me mmara so na wogu mʼakronkronne ho fi; wɔnnkyerɛ nsonoe a ɛda nea ɛyɛ kronkron ne nea ɛnyɛ kronkron ntam; wɔkyerɛkyerɛ sɛ nsonoe biara nna nea ɛho ntew ne nea ɛho tew ntam, na wobu wɔn ani gu me homennadi so, de gu me ho fi wɔ wɔn mu.
27 Her officials within her are like wolves tearing their prey, shedding blood, and destroying lives for dishonest gain.
28 Her prophets whitewash these deeds by false visions and lying divinations, saying, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says,’ when the LORD has not spoken.
Nʼadiyifo nam atoro anisoadehu ne nkontompo nkɔmhyɛ so ma saa nnebɔne yi yɛ fitaa.
29 The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery. They have oppressed the poor and needy and have exploited the foreign resident without justice.
Asase no so nnipa di amim na wɔbɔ korɔn; wɔhyɛ ahiafo ne mmɔborɔfo so, wonnye ahɔho ani na wɔde atɛntrenee kame wɔn.
30 I searched for a man among them to repair the wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, so that I should not destroy it. But I found no one.
“Mehwehwɛɛ obi wɔ wɔn mu a ɔbɛto ɔfasu no na wagyina mʼanim wɔ asase no anan mu, sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a merensɛe asase no, nanso manhu obiara.
31 So I have poured out My indignation upon them and consumed them with the fire of My fury. I have brought their ways down upon their own heads, declares the Lord GOD.”
Ɛno nti, mehwie mʼabufuwhyew agu wɔn so, na mede mʼabufuw a ɛyɛ hu no atɔre wɔn ase, na mama nea wɔayɛ nyinaa abɔ wɔn ti so, Otumfo Awurade asɛm ni.”
