Ezekiel 18
1 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
১সদাপ্রভুর এই বাক্য আবার আমার কাছে এল এবং বলল
2 “What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel: ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the teeth of the children are set on edge’?
২“পূর্বপুরুষেরা টক আঙ্গুরফল খায়, তাই সন্তানদের দাঁত টকে যায়, এই যে প্রবাদ তোমার ইস্রায়েল-দেশের বিষয়ে বল, তোমার কি বলতে চাইছ?
3 As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, you will no longer quote this proverb in Israel.
৩যেমন আমি জীবন্ত” প্রভু সদাপ্রভু বলেন “ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে তোমাদের এই প্রবাদের ব্যবহার আর করতে হবে না।
4 Behold, every soul belongs to Me; both father and son are Mine. The soul who sins is the one who will die.
৪দেখ, সমস্ত প্রাণ আমার; যেমন বাবার প্রাণ, সেরকম সন্তানের প্রাণও আমার; যে প্রাণী পাপ করে, সেই মরবে।
5 Now suppose a man is righteous and does what is just and right:
৫কারণ একজন মানুষ যদি সে ধার্মিক হয় এবং ন্যায় ও ধার্ম্মিকতা বহন করে,
6 He does not eat at the mountain or look to the idols of the house of Israel. He does not defile his neighbor’s wife or approach a woman during her period.
৬পর্বতের ওপরে খায়নি, ইস্রায়েল কুলের মূর্তিদের দিকে তার চোখ তুলে নি, নিজের প্রতিবেশীর স্ত্রীকে নষ্ট করে নি, একজন মহিলার মাসিক দিনের ও যায়নি
7 He does not oppress another, but restores the pledge to the debtor. He does not commit robbery, but gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with clothing.
৭কারও প্রতি অত্যাচার করে নি, ঋণীকে বন্ধক ফিরিয়ে দিয়েছে, কারো জিনিস জোর করে অপহরণ করে নি, কিন্তু পরিবর্তে তার খাবার ক্ষুধার্তকে দিয়েছে ও উলঙ্গকে কাপড় দিয়ে ঢেকে দিয়েছে;
8 He does not engage in usury or take excess interest, but he withholds his hand from iniquity and executes true justice between men.
৮ঋণের জন্য কোনো সুদ ধার্য করে নি, অতিরিক্ত লাভ নেয়নি, তিনি ন্যায়বিচার বহন করেন এবং মানুষের মধ্যে বিশ্বস্ততা স্থাপন করেন
9 He follows My statutes and faithfully keeps My ordinances. That man is righteous; surely he will live,
৯আমার নিয়মে চলেছে এবং সত্য আচরণের উদ্দেশ্যে আমার শাসনকলাপ পালন করেছে, তবে সেই ব্যক্তি ধার্মিক; সে বাঁচবে!” এটা প্রভু সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
10 Now suppose that man has a violent son, who sheds blood or does any of these things,
১০কিন্তু সেই ব্যক্তির ছেলে যদি হিংসাত্মক ও রক্তপাতকারী হয় এবং সেই ধরনের কোনো একটা কাজ করে;
11 though the father has done none of them: Indeed, the son eats at the mountain and defiles his neighbor’s wife.
১১সেই সব কর্তব্যের কোনো কাজ না করে; কিন্তু যদি পর্বতের ওপরে খেয়ে থাকে ও নিজের প্রতিবেশীর স্ত্রীকে নষ্ট করে থাকে,
12 He oppresses the poor and needy; he commits robbery and does not restore a pledge. He lifts his eyes to idols; he commits abominations.
১২গরিব ও অভাবগ্রস্তদের প্রতি অত্যাচার করে থাকে, পরের জিনিস জোর করে অপহরণ করে থাকে, বন্ধক জিনিস ফিরিয়ে না দিয়ে থাকে এবং মূর্তিদের প্রতি দেখে থাকে, ঘৃণ্য কাজ করে থাকে;
13 He engages in usury and takes excess interest. Will this son live? He will not! Since he has committed all these abominations, he will surely die; his blood will be on his own head.
১৩যদি ঋণের ওপরে সুদ ধার্য করে ও অন্যায্য লাভ পেয়ে থাকে, তবে সে কি বাঁচবে? সে বাঁচবে না; সে এই সব ঘৃণ্য কাজ করেছে; সে মরবেই মরবে; তার রক্ত তারই ওপরে পড়বে।
14 Now suppose this son has a son who sees all the sins his father has committed, considers them, and does not do likewise:
১৪কিন্তু দেখ, এর ছেলে যদি নিজের বাবার করা সমস্ত পাপ দেখে বিবেচনা করে ও সেই অনুযায়ী কাজ না করে,
15 He does not eat at the mountain or look to the idols of the house of Israel. He does not defile his neighbor’s wife.
১৫পর্বতের ওপরে খায়নি, ইস্রায়েল কুলের মূর্তিদের দিকে তাকায়নি, নিজের প্রতিবেশীর স্ত্রীকে নষ্ট করে নাই,
16 He does not oppress another, or retain a pledge, or commit robbery. He gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with clothing.
১৬কারো প্রতি অত্যাচার করে নি, বন্ধক জিনিস রাখেনি, কারো জিনিস জোর করে অপহরণ করে নি, কিন্তু পরিবর্তে ক্ষুধার্তকে খাবার দিয়েছে ও উলঙ্গকে কাপড় দিয়ে ঢেকে দিয়েছে
17 He withholds his hand from harming the poor and takes no interest or usury. He keeps My ordinances and follows My statutes. Such a man will not die for his father’s iniquity. He will surely live.
১৭দুঃখী লোকের প্রতি অত্যাচার থেকে নিজের হাত নিবারন করেছে, সুদ বা অন্যায্য লাভ নেয়নি, আমার শাসন সব পালন করেছে ও আমার নিয়ম অনুসারে চলেছে, তবে সে নিজের বাবার পাপে মরবে না, সে অবশ্য বাঁচবে।
18 As for his father, he will die for his own iniquity, because he practiced extortion, robbed his brother, and did what was wrong among his people.
১৮তার বাবা, কারণ সে ভারী উপদ্রব করত, ভাইয়ের জিনিস জোর করে অপহরণ করত, স্বজাতীয় লোকদের মধ্যে খারাপ কাজ করত; দেখ, সে তার অপরাধে মরল।
19 Yet you may ask, ‘Why shouldn’t the son bear the iniquity of his father?’ Since the son has done what is just and right, carefully observing all My statutes, he will surely live.
১৯কিন্তু তোমার বলছ, “সেই ছেলে কেন বাবার অপরাধ বহন করে না?” সেই ছেলে তো ন্যায় ও ধার্মিকতার আচরণ করেছে এবং আমার বিধি সব রক্ষা করেছে, সে সব পালন করেছে; সে অবশ্য বাঁচবে।
20 The soul who sins is the one who will die. A son will not bear the iniquity of his father, and a father will not bear the iniquity of his son. The righteousness of the righteous man will fall upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked man will fall upon him.
২০যে কেউ পাপ করে, সে মরবে; বাবার অপরাধ ছেলে বহন করবে না ও ছেলের অপরাধ বাবা বহন করবে না; ধার্ম্মিকের ধার্ম্মিকতা তার ওপরে আসবে ও দুষ্টের দুষ্টতা তার ওপরে আসবে।
21 But if the wicked man turns from all the sins he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is just and right, he will surely live; he will not die.
২১কিন্তু দুষ্ট লোক যদি নিজের করা সমস্ত পাপ থেকে ফেরে ও আমার নিয়ম সব পালন করে এবং ন্যায় ও ধার্মিকতার আচরণ করে, তবে সে অবশ্য বাঁচবে; সে মরবে না।
22 None of the transgressions he has committed will be held against him. Because of the righteousness he has practiced, he will live.
২২তার আগে করা সব অধর্ম্ম তার বলে মনে করবে না; সে যে ধার্মিকতার আচরণ করেছে, তাতে বাঁচবে।
23 Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Lord GOD. Wouldn’t I prefer that he turn from his ways and live?
২৩“দুষ্টদের মৃত্যুতে কি আমি খুব আনন্দিত হই?” এটা প্রভু সদাপ্রভু বলেন; “বরং সে নিজের পথ থেকে ফিরে বাঁচে,
24 But if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and practices iniquity, committing the same abominations as the wicked, will he live? None of the righteous acts he did will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness and sin he has committed, he will die.
২৪কিন্তু ধার্মিক লোক যদি নিজের ধার্ম্মিকতা থেকে ফিরে অন্যায় করে ও দুষ্টের করা সমস্ত ঘৃণ্য কাজের মতো আচরণ করে, তবে সে কি বাঁচবে? তার করা কোনো ধার্ম্মিকতা মনে করা যাবে না; সে যে সত্য লঙ্ঘন করেছে ও যে পাপ করেছে, তাতেই মরবে।
25 Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is it My way that is unjust? Is it not your ways that are unjust?
২৫কিন্তু তোমার বলছ, ‘প্রভুর পথ অনুকূল নয়।’ হে ইস্রায়েল-কুল, এক বার শোনো; আমার পথ কি অসম না? তোমাদের পথ কি অসম না?
26 If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and practices iniquity, he will die for this. He will die because of the iniquity he has committed.
২৬ধার্মিক লোক যখন নিজের ধার্ম্মিকতা থেকে ফিরে অন্যায় করে তাতে মরে, তখন নিজের করা অন্যায়েই মরে।
27 But if a wicked man turns from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he will save his life.
২৭আর দুষ্ট লোক যখন নিজের করা দুষ্টতা থেকে ফিরে ন্যায় ও ধার্মিকতার আচরণ করে, তখন নিজের প্রাণ বাঁচায়।
28 Because he considered and turned from all the transgressions he had committed, he will surely live; he will not die.
২৮সে বিবেচনা করে নিজের করা সমস্ত অধর্ম্ম থেকে ফিরল, এই জন্য সে অবশ্য বাঁচবে; সে মরবে না।
29 Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Are My ways unjust, O house of Israel? Is it not your ways that are unjust?
২৯কিন্তু ইস্রায়েল-কুল, বলছে, ‘প্রভুর পথ অনুকূল নয়।’ হে ইস্রায়েল-কুল, আমার পথ কি অনুকূল নয়? তোমাদের পথ কি অসম নয়?
30 Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each according to his ways, declares the Lord GOD. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, so that your iniquity will not become your downfall.
৩০অতএব হে ইস্রায়েল-কুল, আমি তোমাদের প্রত্যেকের ব্যবহার অনুসারে তোমাদের বিচার করব,” এটা প্রভু সদাপ্রভু বলেন। “তোমার ফের, নিজেদের করা সমস্ত অধর্ম্ম থেকে মন ফেরাও, তাতে তা তোমাদের অপরাধজনক বিঘ্ন হবে না।
31 Cast away from yourselves all the transgressions you have committed, and fashion for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. Why should you die, O house of Israel?
৩১তোমার নিজেদের করা সমস্ত অধর্ম্ম নিজেদের থেকে দূরে ফেলে দাও এবং নিজেদের জন্য নতুন হৃদয় ও নতুন আত্মা তৈরী কর; কারণ, হে ইস্রায়েল কুল, তোমার কেন মরবে?
32 For I take no pleasure in anyone’s death, declares the Lord GOD. So repent and live!
৩২কারণ আমি আনন্দ করব না যে মারা যায়” এটা প্রভু সদাপ্রভু বলেন; “অতএব তোমার মন ফেরাও ও বাঁচ!”
