< Ezekiel 17 >
1 Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik,
2 “Son of man, pose a riddle; speak a parable to the house of Israel
“Kom, mwet sukawil moul la, fahkang nu sin mwet Israel sie pupulyuk,
3 and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘A great eagle with great wings and long pinions, full of feathers of many colors, came to Lebanon and took away the top of the cedar.
tuh elos in etu ma nga, LEUM GOD Fulatlana, fahk nu selos: Oasr sie eagle na lulap su arulana kato unac kac, ac posohksok lal yohk ac sralap. El sohkla nu fineol in acn Lebanon ac kotala fien sak cedar soko.
4 He plucked off its topmost shoot, carried it to the land of merchants, and planted it in a city of traders.
Na el usla nu ke sie facl in kuka, ac likiya lah sac in sie siti sin mwet kuka.
5 He took some of the seed of the land and planted it in fertile soil; he placed it by abundant waters and set it out like a willow.
Na el eis soko sacn fusr liki facl Israel ac usla yukwiya ke sie ima wo fohk we, yen yohk kof we ma ac akoyohuye sacn uh in kap wo.
6 It sprouted and became a spreading vine, low in height, with branches turned toward him; yet its roots remained where it stood. So it became a vine and yielded branches and sent out shoots.
Sacn soko ah srunak, na ke lahelik el soko fain grape ma fototo ac sralap. Lah kac uh kapak ku nu lucng, sukya acn se eagle sac muta we, ac okah kac uh kapla loal nu infohk uh, ac sropoh uh afla ke lah ac sra.
7 But there was another great eagle with great wings and many feathers. And behold, this vine bent its roots toward him. It stretched out its branches to him from its planting bed, so that he might water it.
“Oasr pac sie eagle na lulap su posohksok la sralap ac unac kac matol. Na okah ac sra ke fain soko ah kapla ac oanla nu yen eagle sac muta we, finsrakkin mu in eis kutu pac kof sin eagle sac sayen kof ma oasr tari inima se el kapak we ah.
8 It had been planted in good soil by abundant waters in order to yield branches and bear fruit and become a splendid vine.’
Tusruktu fain soko ah yoki tari in sie acn wo fohk we ac yohk kof we, su oru sra kac uh in kapak ac grape uh in fokla pus, na orala soko fain na wowo.
9 So you are to tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Will it flourish? Will it not be uprooted and stripped of its fruit so that it shrivels? All its foliage will wither! It will not take a strong arm or many people to pull it up by its roots.
“Ouinge nga, LEUM GOD Fulatlana, siyuk: Ya fain soko inge ac kapak ac moul na? Ya eagle se meet ah ac tia fusak, olela grape kac uh, ac kotala lah kac, in masla? Tia enenu in oasr ku lulap, ku un mwet mweun pus in fusak.
10 Even if it is transplanted, will it flourish? Will it not completely wither when the east wind strikes? It will wither on the bed where it sprouted.’”
Aok, pwaye lah fain soko ah yoki, tusruk ya ac ku in kapak? Ya ac tia masla ke eng kutulap me ac tuhme ac fungulya? Ya ac tia masla na acn kapak we uh?”
11 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik,
12 “Now say to this rebellious house: ‘Do you not know what these things mean?’ Tell them, ‘Behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, carried off its king and officials, and brought them back with him to Babylon.
“Siyuk sin mwet alein inge lah elos etu kalmen pupulyuk sac. Fahkang nu selos lah tokosra lun acn Babylonia el tuku nwe Jerusalem ac usla tokosra lun Judah wi mwet pwapa fulat lal welul folokla nu Babylonia.
13 He took a member of the royal family and made a covenant with him, putting him under oath. Then he carried away the leading men of the land,
Na el eis sie sin sou lun tokosra lun Judah ac oakiya sie wulela inmasrloltal, ac oru elan fulahk tuh el ac pwaye na nu sel. Na el kapriya pac kutu mwet fulat
14 so that the kingdom would be brought low, unable to lift itself up, surviving only by keeping his covenant.
in oru tuh mutunfacl sac in tia sifil tuyak ac lainul, oayapa tuh wuleang sac in tia musalla.
15 But this king rebelled against Babylon by sending his envoys to Egypt to ask for horses and a large army. Will he flourish? Will the one who does such things escape? Can he break a covenant and yet escape?’
Tusruktu tokosra lun Judah el lain ma inge, ac supwala mwet lal nu Egypt in utuk horse ac un mwet mweun pus. Ya ac ku in wi ma el nunku an? Ya el ku in oru lumah inge ac tia nununkeyuk el? El tia ku in kunausla wulela sac ac wangin kaiyuk nu sel!”
16 ‘As surely as I live,’ declares the Lord GOD, ‘he will die in Babylon, in the land of the king who enthroned him, whose oath he despised and whose covenant he broke.
LEUM GOD Fulatlana El fahk, “In oana ke nga pa God moul, tokosra se inge ac misa in acn Babylonia, mweyen el kunausla fulahk lal ke wulela se el orala inmasrlol ac tokosra lun Babylonia, su srisrngilya tuh elan tokosra.
17 Pharaoh with his mighty army and vast horde will not help him in battle, when ramps are built and siege walls constructed to destroy many lives.
Finne mwet mweun fokoko lun tokosra Egypt, elos ac fah tia ku in kasru tokosra lun Judah ke pacl in mweun, ke mwet Babylonia ac elosak fohk ke pot, ac pukanak laf tuh elos in ku in uniya mwet puspis.
18 He despised the oath by breaking the covenant. Seeing that he gave his hand in pledge yet did all these things, he will not escape!’
El kunausla fulahk lal ac wulela se ma el orala. El oru ma inge nukewa, ac inge el ac tia ku in kaingla.”
19 Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘As surely as I live, I will bring down upon his head My oath that he despised and My covenant that he broke.
LEUM GOD Fulatlana El fahk, “In oana ke nga pa God moul, nga ac kalyael ke el kunausla wulela ma el fulahk kac Inek mu el ac karinganang.
20 I will spread My net over him and catch him in My snare. I will bring him to Babylon and execute judgment upon him there for the treason he committed against Me.

21 All his choice troops will fall by the sword, and those who survive will be scattered to every wind. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have spoken.’
Mwet mweun watwen lal ac anwuki nufon ke mweun, ac mwet lula uh ac fahsrelik nu yen nukewa. Na kowos ac fah etu lah nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.”
22 This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will take a shoot from the lofty top of the cedar, and I will set it out. I will pluck a tender sprig from its topmost shoots, and I will plant it on a high and lofty mountain.
Pa inge ma LEUM GOD Fulatlana El fahk: “Nga ac kotala fien soko sak cedar fulat, Ac kotala sie srun srisrik kac; Nga ac yukwiya fin soko eol fulat —
23 I will plant it on the mountain heights of Israel so that it will bear branches; it will yield fruit and become a majestic cedar. Birds of every kind will nest under it, taking shelter in the shade of its branches.

24 Then all the trees of the field will know that I am the LORD. I bring the tall tree down and make the low tree tall. I dry up the green tree and make the withered tree flourish. I, the LORD, have spoken, and I have done it.’”
