< Ezekiel 16 >

1 Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Okwu nke Onyenwe anyị bịakwutere m,
2 “Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her abominations
“Nwa nke mmadụ, gwa Jerusalem okwu mee ka ọ mara banyere ndụ ya niile rụrụ arụ
3 and tell her that this is what the Lord GOD says to Jerusalem: Your origin and your birth were in the land of the Canaanites. Your father was an Amorite and your mother a Hittite.
sị ya, ‘Ihe ndị a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị na-agwa Jerusalem: Ịpụta ụwa gị na ọmụmụ gị bụ nʼala ndị Kenan; nna gị bụ onye Amọrị, nne gị bụ onye Het.
4 On the day of your birth your cord was not cut, nor were you washed with water for cleansing. You were not rubbed with salt or wrapped in cloths.
Nʼụbọchị ahụ a mụrụ gị, ebeghị otubo gị, ọ dịghị onye lekọtara gị maọbụ jiri mmiri saa gị ahụ ị sachapụ gị unyi maọbụ tee gị nnu, maọbụ jiri akwa kechie gị.
5 No one cared enough for you to do even one of these things out of compassion for you. Instead, you were thrown out into the open field, because you were despised on the day of your birth.
Ọ dịghị onye nwere obi ebere nʼebe ị nọ. Ọ dịghị onye ihe banyere gị metụrụ nʼobi, ọ dịkwaghị onye lekọtara gị. Kama nʼụbọchị ahụ a mụrụ gị a tufuru gị nʼọhịa, nʼihi na-eledara gị anya.
6 Then I passed by and saw you wallowing in your blood, and as you lay there in your blood I said to you, ‘Live!’ There I said to you, ‘Live!’
“‘Ma mgbe m si nʼebe ahụ ị tọgbọ na-agafe, ahụrụ m gị ka i chịlịri ụkwụ gị, ọbara jukwara gị ahụ, dịka ị dina nʼime ọbara gị. Nʼoge ahụ, ihe pụrụ m nʼọnụ bụ, “Dị ndụ.”
7 I made you thrive like a plant of the field. You grew up and matured and became very beautiful. Your breasts were formed and your hair grew, but you were naked and bare.
Emere m ka ị too dịka osisi na-eto eto nʼime ọhịa. I tolitere, too ogologo ma tozuo oke na nwanyị, ị kpụrụ ara, agịrị isi gị pukwara, ma gị onwe gị gba ọtọ.
8 Then I passed by and saw you, and you were indeed old enough for love. So I spread My cloak over you and covered your nakedness. I pledged Myself to you, entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine, declares the Lord GOD.
“‘Emesịa, a gafere m nʼakụkụ gị, mgbe m lere gị anya ahụrụ m na i tozuola onye mmadụ ga-ahụ nʼanya. A gbasapụrụ m akụkụ akwa m nʼahụ gị, jiri ya kpuchie ọtọ gị. Aṅụrụ m gị iyi, mụ na gị gbara ndụ, ị ghọkwara nke m. Ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara.
9 Then I bathed you with water, rinsed off your blood, and anointed you with oil.
“‘Eji m mmiri saa gị ahụ, sachapụ ọbara dị gị nʼahụ, teekwa gị mmanụ.
10 I clothed you in embroidered cloth and gave you sandals of fine leather. I wrapped you in fine linen and covered you with silk.
Enyere m gị akwa ọcha na uwe a kpara nke ọma, nke i ji kpuchie ahụ gị. Nyekwa gị akpụkpọụkwụ e ji ezi akpụkpọ kwaa, jirikwa ezi akwa ọcha na uwe ndị dị oke ọnụ kpuchie gị.
11 I adorned you with jewelry, and I put bracelets on your wrists and a chain around your neck.
Eyinyere m gị ihe ịchọ mma, tinye ọlaaka nʼaka gị, nakwa ọlaolu nʼolu gị.
12 I put a ring in your nose, earrings on your ears, and a beautiful crown upon your head.
Etinyekwara m gị ọla nʼimi, tinye gị ọlantị abụọ na ntị gị, na okpueze mara mma nʼisi gị.
13 So you were adorned with gold and silver, and your clothing was made of fine linen, silk, and embroidered cloth. You ate fine flour, honey, and oil. You became very beautiful and rose to be queen.
E ji ihe ịchọ mma ọlaọcha na ọlaedo chọọ gị mma. Uwe gị bụkwa uwe ezi akwa ọcha, uwe dị oke ọnụ, na uwe a kpara nke ọma. Nri ị na-eri bụ ụtụ ọka a yọchaziri nke ọma, na mmanụ aṅụ, na mmanụ oliv. Mma gị pụtaziri ihe nke ọma, ị ruo ogo ịbụ eze nwanyị.
14 Your fame spread among the nations on account of your beauty, for it was perfect in the splendor I bestowed on you, declares the Lord GOD.
Aha gị dara ụda nke ukwuu nʼetiti mba dị iche iche nʼihi mma gị, nke zuruoke site nʼebube ahụ bụ nke m tụkwasịrị gị. Otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara.
15 But because of your fame, you trusted in your beauty and played the harlot. You lavished your favors on everyone who passed by, and your beauty was theirs for the asking.
“‘Ma ị tụkwasịrị mma gị obi, jiri nʼihi na a mara aha gị ghọọ onye akwụna. I wekwaara onwe gị nye nwoke ọbụla gabigara mee ka mma gị bụrụ nke ya.
16 You took some of your garments and made colorful high places for yourself, and on them you prostituted yourself. Such things should not have happened; never should they have occurred!
Ị were uwe gị ụfọdụ, meere onwe gị ebe dị iche iche dị elu nke tụrụ agwa, ebe doziri ihe ndina ịkwa iko gị. Ihe dị otu a emetụbeghị mbụ, ha ekwesịkwaghị ime mgbe ọbụla.
17 You also took the fine jewelry of gold and silver I had given you, and you made male idols with which to prostitute yourself.
Ị chịrị ọlaọcha na ọlaedo ndị ahụ mara mma, bụ nke m nyere gị, were ha kpụọrọ onwe gị oyiyi nwoke dị iche iche, ndị ị na-akpọ isiala nye. Nʼụzọ dị otu a ka gị na ha si na-akwakọ iko.
18 You took your embroidered garments to cover them, and you set My oil and incense before them.
Uwe ọma ahụ a kpara akpa ka i ji kpuchie ha. Mmanụ m na ụda m na-esi isi ụtọ ka ị chere nʼihu ha dịka onyinye.
19 And you set before them as a pleasing aroma the food I had given you—the fine flour, oil, and honey that I had fed you. That is what happened, declares the Lord GOD.
20 You even took the sons and daughters you bore to Me and sacrificed them as food to idols. Was your prostitution not enough?
“‘Ụmụ niile ị mụtaara m, nwoke na nwanyị, ka i ji chụọrọ arụsị gị aja ka ha rie. Ọ bụ na ịgba akwụna gị ezughịrị gị?
21 You slaughtered My children and delivered them up through the fire to idols.
Ma i gburu ụmụ m, jiri ha chụọ aja nye arụsị!
22 And in all your abominations and acts of prostitution, you did not remember the days of your youth when you were naked and bare, wallowing in your own blood.
Nʼoge ndị a niile ị na-akwa iko, na-eme ihe arụ ndị a niile, o metụbeghị gị nʼobi ka i cheta ụbọchị niile ndị ahụ ị bụ nwantakịrị, mgbe ị nọ na-agba ọtọ, mgbe ọbara jupụtara gị nʼahụ.
23 Woe! Woe to you, declares the Lord GOD. And in addition to all your other wickedness,
“‘Ahụhụ, ahụhụ, ga-adịrị gị, ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwubiri. Tinyekwara ajọ omume gị niile,
24 you built yourself a mound and made yourself a lofty shrine in every public square.
i wuuru arụsị gị ụlọ ebe ịkwa iko, wuokwa ụlọ arụsị ndị ọzọ nʼakụkụ okporoụzọ niile.
25 At the head of every street you built your lofty shrines and degraded your beauty. With increasing promiscuity, you spread your legs to all who passed by.
I wuuru onwe gị ebe ịchụ aja e wuliri elu dị iche iche nʼisi ụzọ niile, si otu a merụọ mma gị. Nʼebe ahụ ka ị na-anọ na-emeghere onye ọbụla gafetara ụkwụ gị abụọ, mee ka ịkwa iko gị na-amụbanye.
26 You prostituted yourself with your lustful neighbors, the Egyptians, and increased your promiscuity to provoke Me to anger.
Ị kwasoro ndị Ijipt bụ ndị agbataobi gị iko, ndị anụahụ ha dị ukwuu. I si otu a mee ka iwe dị ukwuu wee m megide ịkwa iko gị nke na-aba ụba.
27 Therefore I stretched out My hand against you and reduced your portion. I gave you over to the desire of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who were ashamed of your lewd conduct.
Nʼihi ya, esetipụrụ m aka megide gị, e webilatara m oke ala gị ka ọ dị ntakịrị; ewere m gị nyefee oke ọchịchọ nke ndị iro gị, bụ ndị inyom Filistia, ndị ihere mere nʼihi omume gị niile ruru unyi.
28 Then you prostituted yourself with the Assyrians, because you were not yet satisfied. Even after that, you were still not satisfied.
Gị na ndị Asịrịa akwaala iko, nʼihi na afọ adịghị eju gị. Ọ bụladị mgbe nke a gasịrị, ị bụkwa onwe na-enweghị afọ ojuju.
29 So you extended your promiscuity to Chaldea, the land of merchants—but even with this you were not satisfied!
I mere ka ịkwa iko gị mụbaa ruo ala ndị Kaldịa, mba ahụ ịzụ ahịa doro anya. Ma ọbụladị na nke a afọ ejughịkwa gị.
30 How weak-willed is your heart, declares the Lord GOD, while you do all these things, the acts of a shameless prostitute!
“‘Iwe m dị ọkụ megide gị, otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara. Mgbe ị na-eme ihe ndị a, ị na-eme ha nnọọ dị ka onye akwụna nke ihere adịghị eme.
31 But when you built your mounds at the head of every street and made your lofty shrines in every public square, you were not even like a prostitute, because you scorned payment.
Mgbe ị rụrụ ụlọ arụsị nʼisi ụzọ niile, wuokwa ụlọ ịkwa iko gị na mbara ụzọ niile, i meghị ya dịka akwụna, nʼihi na ị jụrụ ịnara ndị gị na ha kwara iko ego ọbụla.
32 You adulterous wife! You receive strangers instead of your own husband!
“‘Nʼezie, ị bụ nwanyị na-akwa iko ma ị nọ na di, onye na-anabata ndị ikom ọzọ karịa di ya!
33 Men give gifts to all their prostitutes, but you gave gifts to all your lovers. You bribed them to come to you from everywhere for your illicit favors.
Ndị akwụna niile na-anata onyinye, ma gị onwe gị na-enye ndị ikom niile hụrụ gị nʼanya onyinye, inye ha ngarị ka ha bịakwute gị site nʼebe niile bịakwute gị nʼihi ịgba akwụna gị.
34 So your prostitution is the opposite of that of other women: No one solicited your favors, and you paid a fee instead of receiving one; so you are the very opposite!
Nʼihi ya, ị dị iche nʼetiti ndị inyom ndị ọzọ nʼụdị ịgba akwụna gị, o nweghị onye na-agbaso gị na-arịọ gị maka ịkwaso gị iko. Ị kwụrụ ụgwọ ma o nweghị ụgwọ a kwụrụ gị, nʼụzọ dị otu a ị dị iche.
35 Therefore, O prostitute, hear the word of the LORD!
“‘Nʼihi nke a, gị nwanyị akwụna, nụrụ okwu Onyenwe anyị!
36 This is what the Lord GOD says: Because you poured out your wealth and exposed your nakedness in your promiscuity with your lovers and with all your detestable idols, and because of the blood of your children which you gave to them,
Nke a bụ ihe Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwuru, Nʼihi na ị wụpụrụ agụụ nke anụ ahụ gị, kpugheekwa ọtọ gị nʼịkwa iko gị nke gị na ndị ị hụrụ nʼanya na-akwa, na nʼihi arụsị gị niile rụrụ arụ, nakwa nʼihi na ị nyere ha ọbara ụmụ gị,
37 therefore I will surely gather all the lovers with whom you found pleasure, all those you loved and all those you hated. I will gather them against you from all around and expose you before them, and they will see you completely naked.
nʼihi ya, aga m achịkọta ndị niile bụ ndị ahụ niile ị hụrụ nʼanya, ndị gị na ha na-enwe obi ụtọ, ndị ị hụrụ nʼanya, ma ndị ị kpọrọ asị. Aga m achịkọta ha site gburugburu gị imegide gị, gbaa gị ọtọ nʼihu ha, ka ha hụ ọtọ gị niile.
38 And I will sentence you to the punishment of women who commit adultery and those who shed blood; so I will bring upon you the wrath of your bloodshed and jealousy.
Aga m ata gị ahụhụ a na-ata ndị inyom na-akwa iko, na ndị inyom na-egbu mmadụ. Aga m eme ka ịbọ ọbọ ọbara nke ọnụma m, ya na ekworo m, bịakwasị gị.
39 Then I will deliver you into the hands of your lovers, and they will level your mounds and tear down your lofty shrines. They will strip off your clothes, take your fine jewelry, and leave you naked and bare.
Aga m enyefe gị nʼaka ndị ahụ ị hụrụ nʼanya, bụ ọtụtụ mba ahụ dị iche iche. Ha ga-ebibi gị, kwada ụlọ ịkwa iko gị, na ụlọ arụsị gị niile dị elu, gbaa gị ọtọ, narakwa gị uwe gị niile, na ihe ịchọ mma gị niile, hapụ gị ka ihere mee gị.
40 They will bring a mob against you, who will stone you and cut you to pieces with their swords.
Ha ga-akpọta igwe mmadụ ga-emegide gị, ndị ga-atụ gị nkume, jirikwa mma agha ha bọkasịa gị.
41 Then they will burn down your houses and execute judgment against you in the sight of many women. I will put an end to your prostitution, and you will never again pay your lovers.
Ha ga-agba ụlọ gị ọkụ ma takwaa gị ahụhụ nʼihu ọtụtụ ndị inyom. Aga m ahụkwa na ị kwụsịrị ịkwa iko ị na-akwa, ị ga-akwụsịkwa ịkwụ ụgwọ ahụ ị na-akwụ ndị iko gị.
42 So I will lay to rest My wrath against you, and My jealousy will turn away from you. Then I will be calm and no longer angry.
Mgbe ahụ, oke iwe m megide gị ga-adajụ, ekworo m ga-esite nʼebe ị nọ gabiga. Aga m anọ nwayọọ gharakwa iwe iwe ọzọ.
43 Because you did not remember the days of your youth, but enraged Me with all these things, I will surely bring your deeds down upon your own head, declares the Lord GOD. Have you not committed this lewdness on top of all your other abominations?
“‘Ebe ọ bụ na ị chetaghị ụbọchị ndị ahụ niile, mgbe ị dị nʼagbọghọbịa, ma i ji ihe ọjọọ ndị a niile ị na-eme kpasuo m iwe. Ya mere, aghaghị m ịkwụghachi gị dịka mmehie gị si dị. Ọ bụ na i meghị omume ndị a rụrụ arụ, tinyekwara mmehie agụụ ịkwa iko? Ọ bụ ihe Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwubiri.
44 Behold, all who speak in proverbs will quote this proverb about you: ‘Like mother, like daughter.’
“‘Lee, onye ọbụla na-atụ ilu, ga-atụ ilu a banyere gị sị, “Otu ọ dị nne ka ọ dị nwa ya nwanyị.”
45 You are the daughter of your mother, who despised her husband and children. You are the sister of your sisters, who despised their husbands and children. Your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite.
Nʼezie, ị dị ka nne gị, nʼihi na nne gị kpọrọ di ya na ụmụ ya asị. Ị dịkwa ka ụmụnne gị ndị inyom. Ha na-akpọ di ha na ụmụ ha asị. Nʼezie, nne gị bụ onye Het, nna gị bụkwa onye Amọrị.
46 Your older sister was Samaria, who lived with her daughters to your north; and your younger sister was Sodom, who lived with her daughters to your south.
Ada nne gị bụ Sameria, ya na ụmụ ya bi nʼugwu. Nwanne gị nwanyị nke nta bụ Sọdọm, ya na ụmụ ya bi nʼala ndịda.
47 And you not only walked in their ways and practiced their abominations, but soon you were more depraved than they were.
Ọ bụghị naanị na ị soro ụzọ ha niile, ị ṅomiri omume ibi ndụ arụ ha niile, kama dịka a ga-asị na nke a bụ ihe nta, nʼụzọ gị niile, ị ghọrọ onye rụrụ arụ karịa ha.
48 As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, your sister Sodom and her daughters never did as you and your daughters have done.
Ebe m na-adị ndụ, ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwuru, Sọdọm na ụmụ ya ndị inyom emetụbeghị ihe ndị a gị na ụmụ gị ndị inyom mere.
49 Now this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed, and complacent; they did not help the poor and needy.
“‘Mmehie nwanne gị nwanyị Sọdọm bụ nganga, na umengwụ, na oke oriri. Ha jụrụ inyere ndị nọ na mkpa, na ndị agụụ na-agụ nọ nʼọnụ ụzọ ha aka.
50 Thus they were haughty and committed abominations before Me. Therefore I removed them, as you have seen.
Ha dị elu nʼobi ha, mee ihe arụ nʼihu m. Nʼihi ya, esitere m nʼihu m wezuga ha dịka ị hụrụ.
51 Furthermore, Samaria did not commit half the sins you did. You have multiplied your abominations beyond theirs, and all the abominations you have committed have made your sisters appear righteous.
Ọ bụladị Sameria emerughị ọkara mmehie niile i mere. I meela ihe arụ bara ụba karịa nke ha mere, si otu a gụọ ụmụnne gị ndị inyom ka ndị ezi omume site nʼihe ndị a niile nke ị mere.
52 So now you must bear your disgrace, since you have brought justification for your sisters. For they appear more righteous than you, because your sins were more vile than theirs. So you too must bear your shame and disgrace, since you have made your sisters appear righteous.
Gị onwe gị buru ihe ihere gị, nʼihi na omume gị ekpepụtala ụmụnne gị ndị inyom. Nʼihi na mmehie gị dị njọ, dịkwa ukwuu karịa nke ha, ha bụ ndị a gụrụ na ndị ezi omume karịa gị. Ya mere, ka ihere mee gị, burukwa ọnọdụ ihere gị, nʼihi na ị meela ka a gụọ ụmụnne gị ndị inyom dịka ndị ezi omume.
53 But I will restore Sodom and her daughters from captivity, as well as Samaria and her daughters. And I will restore you along with them.
“‘Ma otu ọ dị, aga m eme ka ọganihu nke Sọdọm na ụmụ ya ndị inyom, na ọganihu nke Sameria na ụmụ ya ndị inyom, na ọganihu nke gị dịghachikwa nʼetiti ha:
54 So you will bear your disgrace and be ashamed of all you did to comfort them.
Ka i nwee ike bụrụ ọnọdụ ihere gị, ka ihere mekwa gị nʼihi ihe niile i mere, nʼịkasị ha obi.
55 And your sisters, Sodom with her daughters and Samaria with her daughters, will return to their former state. You and your daughters will also return to your former state.
Ọzọ ndị ụmụnne gị nwanyị bụ Sọdọm na Sameria na ụmụ ha ndị inyom ga-alọta nʼọnọdụ mbụ ha; gị na ụmụ gị ndị inyom ga-alọtakwa nʼọnọdụ mbụ unu.
56 Did you not treat your sister Sodom as an object of scorn in the day of your pride,
Ma ị pụghị emeghe ọnụ gị kpọọ aha nwanne gị nwanyị bụ Sọdọm nʼụbọchị nganga gị,
57 before your wickedness was uncovered? Even so, you are now scorned by the daughters of Edom and all those around her, and by the daughters of the Philistines—all those around you who despise you.
tupu e kpughe ajọ omume gị. Ọ bụladị otu ahụ, ugbu a ị bụ ihe ịkwa emo nye ndị ada Edọm na ndị agbataobi ya niile, na ndị ada ndị Filistia. Ndị niile nọ gị gburugburu na-elelịkwa gị anya.
58 You will bear the consequences of your lewdness and your abominations, declares the LORD.
Ị ga-anata ụgwọ ọrụ nke ịkwa iko gị, na ihe arụ ndị ọzọ ị na-eme. Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri ya.
59 For this is what the Lord GOD says: I will deal with you according to your deeds, since you have despised the oath by breaking the covenant.
“‘Nke a bụ ihe Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị sịrị, Aga m akwụghachi gị dịka omume gị si dị, nʼihi na ị ledara iyi ahụ ị ṅụrụ anya site nʼimebi ọgbụgba ndụ ahụ.
60 But I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.
61 Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed when you receive your older and younger sisters. I will give them to you as daughters, but not because of My covenant with you.
Mgbe ahụ, ị ga-echeta ụzọ gị niile, ma nwee ihere, mgbe m ga-ewere ụmụnne gị ndị inyom ndị ahụ tọrọ gị na ndị nke ị tọrọ nye gị ha dịka ụmụ, ma ọ bụghị nʼihi ọgbụgba ndụ m.
62 So I will establish My covenant with you, and you will know that I am the LORD,
Aga m eme ka ọgbụgba ndụ mụ na gị guzosie ike, ị ga-amatakwa na mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị.
63 so that when I make atonement for all you have done, you will remember and be ashamed and never again open your mouth because of your disgrace, declares the Lord GOD.”
Mgbe ahụ, aga m ekpuchiri gị ajọ omume niile bụ nke ị mere. Ihere ga-eme gị mgbe i chetara ndụ ọjọọ gị, ị gaghị emeghekwa ọnụ gị kwuo okwu nʼihi oke mweda nʼala gị. Otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwubiri.’”
