< Ezekiel 14 >

1 Then some of the elders of Israel came and sat down before me.
Díẹ̀ nínú àwọn àgbàgbà Israẹli wá sọ́dọ̀ mi, wọ́n sì jókòó níwájú mi.
2 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Nígbà náà ni ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tọ̀ mí wá,
3 “Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces. Should I consult with them in any way?
“Ọmọ ènìyàn, àwọn ọkùnrin wọ̀nyí ti gbé òrìṣà kalẹ̀ sínú ọkàn wọn, wọ́n sì gbé àwọn ohun tó lè mú wọn ṣubú sínú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ síwájú wọn; Èmi yóò ha jẹ́ kí wọ́n béèrè lọ́wọ́ mi rárá bí?
4 Therefore speak to them and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘When any Israelite sets up idols in his heart and puts a wicked stumbling block before his face, and then comes to the prophet, I the LORD will answer him according to his great idolatry,
Nítorí náà, sọ fún wọn pé, ‘Báyìí ni Olúwa Olódùmarè wí: Bí ẹnikẹ́ni ní ilé Israẹli tó gbé òrìṣà sí ọkàn rẹ̀, tó tún gbé ohun ìkọ̀sẹ̀ síwájú rẹ̀, tí ó sì wá sọ́dọ̀ wòlíì, Èmi Olúwa fúnra mi ni yóò dá ẹni tí ó wa lóhùn gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìwà ìbọ̀rìṣà rẹ.
5 so that I may take hold of the hearts of the people of Israel. For because of their idols, they are all estranged from Me.’
Èmi yóò ṣe èyí láti gba ọkàn àwọn ará Israẹli tó ti tẹ̀lé òrìṣà wọn lọ padà sí ọ̀dọ̀ mi.’
6 Therefore tell the house of Israel that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Repent and turn away from your idols; turn your faces away from all your abominations.
“Nítorí náà sọ fún ilé Israẹli, ‘Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa Olódùmarè wí: Ẹ ronúpìwàdà! Ẹ yípadà kúrò lọ́dọ̀ òrìṣà yín, kí ẹ̀yin sì kọ gbogbo ìwà ìríra yín sílẹ̀!
7 For when any Israelite or any foreigner dwelling in Israel separates himself from Me, sets up idols in his heart, and puts a wicked stumbling block before his face, and then comes to the prophet to inquire of Me, I the LORD will answer him Myself.
“‘Bí ẹnikẹ́ni ní ilé Israẹli tàbí àlejò tó ń gbé ní ilẹ̀ Israẹli, bá ya ara rẹ̀ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ mi, tó gbé òrìṣà rẹ̀ sí ọkàn rẹ̀, tó tún gbé ohun tó mú ni ṣubú sínú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ síwájú rẹ, lẹ́yìn èyí tó tún lọ sọ́dọ̀ wòlíì láti béèrè nǹkan lọ́wọ́ mi! Èmi Olúwa fúnra ara mi ní èmi yóò dá a lóhùn.
8 I will set My face against that man and make him a sign and a proverb; I will cut him off from among My people. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
Èmi yóò lòdì si irú ọkùnrin bẹ́ẹ̀ lọ́nà òdì, Èmi yóò sì fi i ṣe àmì àti òwe. Èmi yóò sì gé e kúrò láàrín àwọn ènìyàn mi. Nígbà náà, ẹ̀yin yóò mọ̀ pé èmi ni Olúwa.
9 But if the prophet is enticed to speak a message, then it was I the LORD who enticed him, and I will stretch out My hand against him and destroy him from among My people Israel.
“‘Bí wọ́n bá sì tan wòlíì náà láti sọtẹ́lẹ̀, Èmi Olúwa ló tan wòlíì náà, Èmi yóò nawọ́ sí i, èmi yóò sì pa á run kúrò láàrín àwọn ènìyàn mi Israẹli.
10 They will bear their punishment—the punishment of the inquirer will be the same as that of the prophet—
Wọn yóò ru ẹ̀bi ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wọn—ìjìyà kan náà là ó fún wòlíì àti ẹni tó lọ béèrè lọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀.
11 in order that the house of Israel may no longer stray from Me and no longer defile themselves with all their transgressions. Then they will be My people and I will be their God, declares the Lord GOD.’”
Kí ilé Israẹli má ba à ṣáko kúrò lọ́dọ̀ mi mọ, kí wọ́n má ba à fi gbogbo ìrékọjá ba ara wọn jẹ́ mọ́. Ṣùgbọ́n kí wọ́n le jẹ́ ènìyàn mi, kí Èmi náà sì le jẹ́ Ọlọ́run wọn, ni Olúwa Olódùmarè wí.’”
12 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tọ̀ mí wá wí pé:
13 “Son of man, if a land sins against Me by acting unfaithfully, and I stretch out My hand against it to cut off its supply of food, to send famine upon it, and to cut off from it both man and beast,
“Ọmọ ènìyàn bí orílẹ̀-èdè kan bá dẹ́ṣẹ̀ sí mi nípa ìwà àìṣòdodo, èmi yóò nawọ́ mi jáde sí wọn, láti gé ìpèsè oúnjẹ wọn, èmi yóò rán ìyàn sí wọn, èmi yóò sì pa ènìyàn àti ẹranko inú rẹ̀,
14 then even if these three men—Noah, Daniel, and Job—were in it, their righteousness could deliver only themselves, declares the Lord GOD.

15 Or if I send wild beasts through the land to leave it childless and desolate, with no man passing through it for fear of the beasts,

17 Or if I bring a sword against that land and say, ‘Let a sword pass through it,’ so that I cut off from it both man and beast,
“Tàbí tí mo bá mú idà kọjá láàrín orílẹ̀-èdè náà tí mo wí pé, ‘Ẹ jẹ́ kí idà kọjá láàrín ilẹ̀ náà,’ tí mo sì tú ìbínú gbígbóná lé wọn lórí nípa ìtàjẹ̀ sílẹ̀, tí mo pa ènìyàn àti ẹranko inú rẹ.
18 then as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, even if these three men were in it, they could not deliver their own sons or daughters. They alone would be delivered.

19 Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out My wrath upon it through bloodshed, cutting off from it both man and beast,

20 then as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, they could not deliver their own sons or daughters. Their righteousness could deliver only themselves.
bó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé Noa, Daniẹli àti Jobu wà nínú rẹ, bí mo ti wà láààyè ni Olúwa Olódùmarè wí, wọn kò le gba ọmọkùnrin tàbí ọmọbìnrin wọn lá. Ara wọn nìkan ni ìwà òdodo wọn lè gbàlà.
21 For this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘How much worse will it be when I send against Jerusalem My four dire judgments—sword, famine, wild beasts, and plague—in order to cut off from it both man and beast?
“Nítorí báyìí ni Olúwa Olódùmarè wí, báwo ni yóò ti burú tó nígbà tí mo bá rán ìdájọ́ kíkan mi mẹ́rin sórí Jerusalẹmu, èyí ni idà àti ìyàn, ẹranko búburú àti àjàkálẹ̀-ààrùn láti pa àwọn ènìyàn àti ẹranko inú rẹ̀!
22 Yet, behold, some survivors will be left in it—sons and daughters who will be brought out. They will come out to you, and when you see their conduct and actions, you will be comforted regarding the disaster I have brought upon Jerusalem—all that I have brought upon it.
Síbẹ̀, yóò ṣẹ́kù àwọn díẹ̀, àwọn ọmọkùnrin àti ọmọbìnrin tí a ó kó jáde nínú rẹ̀. Wọn yóò wá bá yin, ẹ̀yin yóò rí ìwà àti ìṣe wọn, nígbà náà ni ẹ̀yin yóò rí ìtùnú nípa àjálù tí mo mú wá sórí Jerusalẹmu—àní gbogbo àjálù ní mo ti mú wá sórí rẹ̀.
23 They will bring you consolation when you see their conduct and actions, and you will know that it was not without cause that I have done all these things within it,’ declares the Lord GOD.”
