< Exodus 36 >

1 “So Bezalel, Oholiab, and every skilled person are to carry out everything commanded by the LORD, who has given them skill and ability to know how to perform all the work of constructing the sanctuary.”
And Bezalel and Oholiab shall work, and every wise hearted man, in whom the LORD hath put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all the work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD hath commanded.
2 Then Moses summoned Bezalel, Oholiab, and every skilled person whom the LORD had gifted—everyone whose heart stirred him to come and do the work.
And Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it:
3 They received from Moses all the contributions that the Israelites had brought to carry out the service of constructing the sanctuary. Meanwhile, the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning,
and they received of Moses all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it withal. And they brought yet unto him freewill offerings every morning.
4 so that all the skilled craftsmen who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left their work
And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came every man from his work which they wrought;
5 and said to Moses, “The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the LORD has commanded us to do.”
and they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make.
6 After Moses had given an order, they sent a proclamation throughout the camp: “No man or woman should make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.” So the people were restrained from bringing more,
And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.
7 since what they already had was more than enough to perform all the work.
For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.
8 All the skilled craftsmen among the workmen made the ten curtains for the tabernacle. They were made of finely spun linen, as well as blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, with cherubim skillfully worked into them.
And every wise hearted man among them that wrought the work made the tabernacle with ten curtains; of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, with cherubim the work of the cunning workman made he them.
9 Each curtain was twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide; all the curtains were the same size.
The length of each curtain was eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits: all the curtains had one measure.
10 And he joined five of the curtains together, and the other five he joined as well.
And he coupled five curtains one to another: and [the other] five curtains he coupled one to another.
11 He made loops of blue material on the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and also on the end curtain in the second set.
And he made loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling: likewise he made in the edge of the curtain that was outmost in the second coupling.
12 He made fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the end curtain of the second set, so that the loops lined up opposite one another.
Fifty loops made he in the one curtain, and fifty loops made he in the edge of the curtain that was in the second coupling: the loops were opposite one to another.
13 He also made fifty gold clasps to join the curtains together, so that the tabernacle was a unit.
And he made fifty clasps of gold, and coupled the curtains one to another with the clasps: so the tabernacle was one.
14 He then made curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle—eleven curtains in all.
And he made curtains of goats’ [hair] for a tent over the tabernacle: eleven curtains he made them.
15 Each of the eleven curtains was the same size—thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.
The length of each curtain was thirty cubits, and four cubits the breadth of each curtain: the eleven curtains had one measure.
16 He joined five of the curtains into one set and the other six into another.
And he coupled five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves.
17 He made fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and fifty loops along the edge of the corresponding curtain in the second set.
And he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops made he upon the edge of the curtain which was [outmost in] the second coupling.
18 He also made fifty bronze clasps to join the tent together as a unit.
And he made fifty clasps of brass to couple the tent together, that it might be one.
19 Additionally, he made for the tent a covering of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of fine leather.
And he made a covering for the tent of rams’ skins dyed red, and a covering of sealskins above.
20 Next, he constructed upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle.
And he made the boards for the tabernacle of acacia wood, standing up.
21 Each frame was ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.
Ten cubits was the length of a board, and a cubit and a half the breadth of each board.
22 Two tenons were connected to each other for each frame. He made all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.
Each board had two tenons, joined one to another: thus did he make for all the boards of the tabernacle.
23 He constructed twenty frames for the south side of the tabernacle,
And he made the boards for the tabernacle; twenty boards for the south side southward:
24 with forty silver bases to put under the twenty frames—two bases for each frame, one under each tenon.
and he made forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for its two tenons, and two sockets under another board for its two tenons.
25 For the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, he made twenty frames
And for the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side, he made twenty boards,
26 and forty silver bases—two bases under each frame.
and their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.
27 He made six frames for the rear of the tabernacle, the west side,
And for the hinder part of the tabernacle westward he made six boards.
28 and two frames for the two back corners of the tabernacle,
And two boards made he for the corners of the tabernacle in the hinder part.
29 coupled together from bottom to top and fitted into a single ring. He made both corners in this way.
And they were double beneath, and in like manner they were entire unto the top thereof unto one ring: thus he did to both of them in the two corners.
30 So there were eight frames and sixteen silver bases—two under each frame.
And there were eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; under every board two sockets.
31 He also made five crossbars of acacia wood for the frames on one side of the tabernacle,
And he made bars of acacia wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,
32 five for those on the other side, and five for those on the rear side of the tabernacle, to the west.
and five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle for the hinder part westward.
33 He made the central crossbar to run through the center of the frames, from one end to the other.
And he made the middle bar to pass through in the midst of the boards from the one end to the other.
34 And he overlaid the frames with gold and made gold rings to hold the crossbars. He also overlaid the crossbars with gold.
And he overlaid the boards with gold, and made their rings of gold for places for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.
35 Next, he made the veil of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen, with cherubim skillfully worked into it.
And he made the veil of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: with cherubim the work of the cunning workman made he it.
36 He also made four posts of acacia wood for it and overlaid them with gold, along with gold hooks; and he cast four silver bases for the posts.
And he made thereunto four pillars of acacia, and overlaid them with gold: their hooks were of gold; and he cast for them four sockets of silver.
37 For the entrance to the tent, he made a curtain embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen,
And he made a screen for the door of the Tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of the embroiderer;
38 together with five posts and their hooks. He overlaid the tops of the posts and their bands with gold, and their five bases were bronze.
and the five pillars of it with their hooks: and he overlaid their chapiters and their fillets with gold: and their five sockets were of brass.
