Exodus 30
1 “You are also to make an altar of acacia wood for the burning of incense.
Tu feras aussi pour brûler un parfum, un autel de bois de sétim,
2 It is to be square, a cubit long, a cubit wide, and two cubits high. Its horns must be of one piece.
Ayant une coudée de longueur, et une de largeur, c’est-à-dire carré, et deux coudées en hauteur. Des cornes en sortiront.
3 Overlay with pure gold the top and all the sides and horns, and make a molding of gold around it.
Or, tu le revêtiras d’un or très pur, tant la grille que les parois tout autour, et les cornes. Et tu y feras une couronne d’or tout autour,
4 And make two gold rings below the molding on opposite sides to hold the poles used to carry it.
Et deux anneaux d’or sous la couronne, à chaque côté, pour qu’on y passe des leviers et que l’autel puisse être porté.
5 Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.
Et les leviers eux-mêmes tu les feras de bois de sétim, et tu les doreras.
6 Place the altar in front of the veil that is before the ark of the Testimony —before the mercy seat that is over the Testimony—where I will meet with you.
Et tu placeras l’autel contre le voile qui est suspendu devant l’arche de témoignage, devant le propitiatoire dont est couvert le témoignage, où je te parlerai.
7 And Aaron is to burn fragrant incense on it every morning when he tends the lamps.
Et Aaron y brûlera le matin un parfum, exhalant une odeur suave. Quand il apprêtera les lampes, il le brûlera;
8 When Aaron sets up the lamps at twilight, he must burn the incense perpetually before the LORD for the generations to come.
Et quand il les placera vers le soir, il brûlera un parfum perpétuel devant le Seigneur en vos générations.
9 On this altar you must not offer unauthorized incense or a burnt offering or grain offering; nor are you to pour a drink offering on it.
Vous n’offrirez sur cet autel, ni parfum d’une autre composition, ni oblation, ni victime; et vous n’y ferez point de libations.
10 Once a year Aaron shall make atonement on the horns of the altar. Throughout your generations he shall make atonement on it annually with the blood of the sin offering of atonement. The altar is most holy to the LORD.”
Et Aaron fera des expiations sur les cornes de l’autel une fois par an, en y répandant le sang de la victime qui a été offerte pour le péché, et il conciliera à l’autel la faveur du Seigneur dans vos générations. Ce sera une chose très sainte pour le Seigneur.
11 Then the LORD said to Moses,
Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse, disant:
12 “When you take a census of the Israelites to number them, each man must pay the LORD a ransom for his life when he is counted. Then no plague will come upon them when they are numbered.
Quand tu auras fait le dénombrement des enfants d’Israël, ils donneront chacun un prix au Seigneur pour leurs âmes, et il n’y aura point de plaie parmi eux, lorsqu’ils auront été recensés.
13 Everyone who crosses over to those counted must pay a half shekel, according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the LORD.
Or voici ce que donnera quiconque aura présenté son nom: un demi-sicle selon la mesure du temple. Le sicle a vingt oboles. La moitié d’un sicle sera offerte au Seigneur.
14 Everyone twenty years of age or older who crosses over must give this offering to the LORD.
Celui qui est compris dans le dénombrement, depuis vingt ans et au-dessus donnera ce prix.
15 In making the offering to the LORD to atone for your lives, the rich shall not give more than a half shekel, nor shall the poor give less.
Le riche n’ajoutera point à la moitié d’un sicle, et le pauvre n’y diminuera rien.
16 Take the atonement money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the Tent of Meeting. It will serve as a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD to make atonement for your lives.”
Et l’argent reçu qui aura été apporté par les enfants d’Israël, tu le donneras pour les usages du tabernacle de témoignage, afin qu’il soit un souvenir d’eux devant le Seigneur et que le Seigneur se montre propice à leurs âmes.
17 And the LORD said to Moses,
Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse, disant:
18 “You are to make a bronze basin with a bronze stand for washing. Set it between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water in it,
Tu feras aussi un bassin d’airain avec sa base pour se laver, et tu le placeras entre le tabernacle de témoignage et l’autel. Or, de l’eau ayant été mise,
19 with which Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet.
Aaron et ses fils y laveront leurs mains et leurs pieds,
20 Whenever they enter the Tent of Meeting or approach the altar to minister by presenting an offering made by fire to the LORD, they must wash with water so that they will not die.
Quand ils devront entrer dans le tabernacle de témoignage, et quand ils devront s’approcher de l’autel pour y offrir un parfum à brûler au Seigneur,
21 Thus they are to wash their hands and feet so that they will not die; this shall be a permanent statute for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come.”
De peur qu’ils ne meurent. Ce sera une loi perpétuelle pour Aaron et sa postérité durant ses successions.
22 Then the LORD said to Moses,
Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse,
23 “Take the finest spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half that amount (250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon, 250 shekels of fragrant cane,
Disant: Prends des aromates, cinq cents sicles de myrrhe, première et choisie, et la moitié moins de cinnamome, c’est-à-dire, deux cent cinquante sicles, et pareillement deux cent cinquante sicles de canne;
24 500 shekels of cassia —all according to the sanctuary shekel—and a hin of olive oil.
Cinq cents sicles de casse au poids du sanctuaire et une mesure de hin d’huile d’olive;
25 Prepare from these a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer; it will be a sacred anointing oil.
Et tu feras de l’huile sainte d’onction, essence composée selon l’art d’un parfumeur.
26 Use this oil to anoint the Tent of Meeting, the ark of the Testimony,
Puis tu en oindras le tabernacle de témoignage, l’arche du testament,
27 the table and all its utensils, the lampstand and its utensils, the altar of incense,
La table avec ses vases, le chandelier et ses ustensiles, les autels du parfum à brûler,
28 the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand.
Et de l’holocauste, et tous les objets qui appartiennent à leur service.
29 You are to consecrate them so that they will be most holy. Whatever touches them shall be holy.
Et tu sanctifieras toutes ces choses, et elles seront très saintes: celui qui les touchera sera sanctifié.
30 Anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them to serve Me as priests.
Tu oindras Aaron et ses fils, et tu les sanctifieras, afin qu’ils exercent les fonctions du sacerdoce pour moi.
31 And you are to tell the Israelites, ‘This will be My sacred anointing oil for the generations to come.
Et aux enfants d’Israël aussi tu diras: Cette huile d’onction me sera consacrée en vos générations.
32 It must not be used to anoint an ordinary man, and you must not make anything like it with the same formula. It is holy, and it must be holy to you.
Aucune chair d’homme n’en sera ointe, et tu n’en feras point d’autre selon sa composition, parce qu’elle a été sanctifiée, et elle sera sainte pour vous.
33 Anyone who mixes perfume like it or puts it on an outsider shall be cut off from his people.’”
Un homme quelconque qui en composera de pareille et qui en donnera à un étranger, sera exterminé du milieu de son peuple.
34 The LORD also said to Moses, “Take fragrant spices—gum resin, onycha, galbanum, and pure frankincense—in equal measures,
Le Seigneur dit encore à Moïse: Prends des aromates, du si acte, de l’onyx, du galbanum odoriférant et de l’encens le plus luisant, toutes ces choses seront de même poids,
35 and make a fragrant blend of incense, the work of a perfumer, seasoned with salt, pure and holy.
Et tu feras un parfum à brûler composé selon l’art d’un parfumeur, mêlé avec soin, pur et très digne de sanctification.
36 Grind some of it into fine powder and place it in front of the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be most holy to you.
Et lorsqu’en les broyant tu auras réduit toutes ces choses en une poudre très fine, tu en mettras devant le tabernacle de témoignage, dans lequel lieu je t’apparaîtrai. Ce sera pour vous un très saint parfum à brûler.
37 You are never to use this formula to make incense for yourselves; you shall regard it as holy to the LORD.
Vous ne ferez point de pareille composition pour votre usage, parce que c’est une chose sainte pour le Seigneur.
38 Anyone who makes something like it to enjoy its fragrance shall be cut off from his people.”
Un homme quelconque qui en fera de semblable pour en respirer avec plaisir l’odeur, périra du milieu de ses peuples.
