< Exodus 27 >
1 “You are to build an altar of acacia wood. The altar must be square, five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high.
And thou shall make the altar of acacia wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad (the altar shall be foursquare), and the height of it shall be three cubits.
2 Make a horn on each of its four corners, so that the horns are of one piece, and overlay it with bronze.
And thou shall make the horns of it upon the four corners of it. The horns of it shall be of one piece with it, and thou shall overlay it with brass.
3 Make all its utensils of bronze—its pots for removing ashes, its shovels, its sprinkling bowls, its meat forks, and its firepans.
And thou shall make its pots to take away its ashes, and its shovels, and its basins, and its flesh-hooks, and its firepans; all the vessels of it thou shall make of brass.
4 Construct for it a grate of bronze mesh, and make a bronze ring at each of the four corners of the mesh.
And thou shall make for it a grating of network of brass, and upon the network thou shall make four brazen rings in the four corners of it.
5 Set the grate beneath the ledge of the altar, so that the mesh comes halfway up the altar.
And thou shall put it under the ledge round the altar beneath, that the network may reach halfway up the altar.
6 Additionally, make poles of acacia wood for the altar and overlay them with bronze.
And thou shall make staves for the altar, staves of acacia wood, and overlay them with brass.
7 The poles are to be inserted into the rings so that the poles are on two sides of the altar when it is carried.
And the staves of it shall be put into the rings, and the staves shall be upon the two sides of the altar, in bearing it.
8 Construct the altar with boards so that it is hollow. It is to be made just as you were shown on the mountain.
Thou shall make it hollow with planks. As it has been shown thee on the mount, so shall they make it.
9 You are also to make a courtyard for the tabernacle. On the south side of the courtyard make curtains of finely spun linen, a hundred cubits long on one side,
And thou shall make the court of the tabernacle. For the south side southward there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen a hundred cubits long for one side.
10 with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases, and silver hooks and bands on the posts.
And the pillars of it shall be twenty, and their sockets twenty, of brass. The hooks of the pillars and their bands shall be of silver.
11 Likewise there are to be curtains on the north side, a hundred cubits long, with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases, and with silver hooks and bands on the posts.
And likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings a hundred cubits long, and the pillars of it twenty, and their sockets twenty, of brass, the hooks of the pillars and their bands, of silver.
12 The curtains on the west side of the courtyard shall be fifty cubits wide, with ten posts and ten bases.
And for the breadth of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits, their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.
13 The east side of the courtyard, toward the sunrise, is to be fifty cubits wide.
And the breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits.
14 Make the curtains on one side fifteen cubits long, with three posts and three bases,
The hangings for the one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits, their pillars three, and their sockets three.
15 and the curtains on the other side fifteen cubits long, with three posts and three bases.
And for the other side shall be hangings of fifteen cubits, their pillars three, and their sockets three.
16 The gate of the courtyard shall be twenty cubits long, with a curtain embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen. It shall have four posts and four bases.
And for the gate of the court shall be a screen of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of the embroiderer, their pillars four, and their sockets four.
17 All the posts around the courtyard shall have silver bands, silver hooks, and bronze bases.
All the pillars of the court round about shall be banded with silver, their hooks of silver, and their sockets of brass.
18 The entire courtyard shall be a hundred cubits long and fifty cubits wide, with curtains of finely spun linen five cubits high, and with bronze bases.
The length of the court shall be a hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty everywhere, and the height five cubits, of fine twined linen, and their sockets of brass.
19 All the utensils of the tabernacle for every use, including all its tent pegs and the tent pegs of the courtyard, shall be made of bronze.
All the instruments of the tabernacle in all the service of it, and all the pegs of it, and all the pegs of the court, shall be of brass.
20 And you are to command the Israelites to bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to keep the lamps burning continually.
And thou shall command the sons of Israel, that they bring to thee pure beaten olive oil for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually
21 In the Tent of Meeting, outside the veil that is in front of the Testimony, Aaron and his sons are to tend the lamps before the LORD from evening until morning. This is to be a permanent statute for the Israelites for the generations to come.
in the tent of meeting, outside the veil which is before the testimony. Aaron and his sons shall keep it in order from evening to morning before Jehovah. It shall be a statute forever throughout their generations on the behalf of the sons of Israel.
