Ecclesiastes 11
1 Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again.
Lance seu pão sobre as águas; pois você o encontrará após muitos dias.
2 Divide your portion among seven, or even eight, for you do not know what disaster may befall the land.
Dê uma parte para sete, sim, até mesmo para oito; pois você não sabe o que será o mal na terra.
3 If the clouds are full, they will pour out rain upon the earth; whether a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where it falls, there it will lie.
Se as nuvens estiverem cheias de chuva, elas se esvaziam sobre a terra; e se uma árvore cair para o sul, ou para o norte, no local onde a árvore cai, lá estará ela.
4 He who watches the wind will fail to sow, and he who observes the clouds will fail to reap.
Aquele que observa o vento não vai semear; e aquele que considera as nuvens não colherá.
5 As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the bones are formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.
Como você não sabe qual é o caminho do vento, nem como os ossos crescem no útero dela que está com a criança; mesmo assim, você não conhece a obra de Deus que faz tudo.
6 Sow your seed in the morning, and do not rest your hands in the evening, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or if both will equally prosper.
Pela manhã, semeie sua semente, e, à noite, não segure sua mão; pois você não sabe qual vai prosperar, se isto ou aquilo, ou se ambos serão igualmente bons.
7 Light is sweet, and it pleases the eyes to see the sun.
Truly a luz é doce, e é uma coisa agradável para os olhos ver o sol.
8 So if a man lives many years, let him rejoice in them all. But let him remember the days of darkness, for they will be many. Everything to come is futile.
Sim, se um homem vive muitos anos, que ele se regozije com todos eles; mas que se lembre dos dias de escuridão, pois eles serão muitos. Tudo o que vem é vaidade.
9 Rejoice, O young man, while you are young, and let your heart be glad in the days of your youth. Walk in the ways of your heart and in the sight of your eyes, but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment.
Alegre-se, jovem, em sua juventude, e deixar que seu coração o aplauda nos dias de sua juventude, e caminhar nos caminhos do seu coração, e à vista de seus olhos; mas saiba que por todas essas coisas Deus o levará a julgamento.
10 So banish sorrow from your heart, and cast off pain from your body, for youth and vigor are fleeting.
Portanto, remova a tristeza do seu coração, e afaste o mal de sua carne; para a juventude e o amanhecer da vida são vaidade.
