Deuteronomy 28
1 “Now if you faithfully obey the voice of the LORD your God and are careful to follow all His commandments I am giving you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
१आज, मी दिलेल्या सर्व आज्ञा तुम्ही काळजीपूर्वक पाळल्यात व तुमचा देव परमेश्वर याची वाणी तुम्ही ऐकाल तर तुमचा देव परमेश्वर तुम्हास पृथ्वीवरील सर्व राष्ट्रांपेक्षा उच्चस्थानी नेईल.
2 And all these blessings will come upon you and overtake you, if you will obey the voice of the LORD your God:
२तुम्ही आपला देव परमेश्वर ह्याची वाणी ऐकाल तर हे सर्व आशीर्वाद तुमच्याकडे येतील:
3 You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.
३तुम्हास तुमच्या नगरात आणि शेतात परमेश्वराचे आशीर्वाद मिळतील.
4 The fruit of your womb will be blessed, as well as the produce of your land and the offspring of your livestock— the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.
४परमेश्वराच्या आशीर्वादाने तुमची मुलेबाळे, तुमच्या भूमीचा उपज, व तुमची गुरेढोरे व त्यांची पिल्ले आशीर्वादीत होतील.
5 Your basket and kneading bowl will be blessed.
५तुमच्या टोपल्या आणि पराती परमेश्वराच्या आशीर्वादाने भरलेल्या राहतील.
6 You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.
६तुम्ही आत याल तेव्हा आशीर्वादीत व्हाल आणि बाहेर जाल तेव्हा आशीर्वादीत व्हाल.
7 The LORD will cause the enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you. They will march out against you in one direction but flee from you in seven.
७तुमच्यावर चाल करून येणाऱ्या शत्रूला पराभूत करण्यास तुम्हास परमेश्वराचे साहाय्य होईल. एका वाटेने आलेला शत्रू सात वाटांनी पळत सुटेल.
8 The LORD will decree a blessing on your barns and on everything to which you put your hand; the LORD your God will bless you in the land He is giving you.
८परमेश्वराच्या कृपेने तुमची कोठारे भरलेली राहतील. तुम्ही हाती घेतलेल्या कार्यात त्याचे आशीर्वाद मिळतील. तुमचा देव परमेश्वर तुम्हास जो देश देत आहे त्यामध्ये तुमची भरभराट होईल.
9 The LORD will establish you as His holy people, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways.
९परमेश्वराने सांगितल्याप्रमाणे आचरण ठेवलेत आणि त्याच्या आज्ञा पाळल्यात तर आपल्या वचनाला जागून तो तुम्हास आपली पवित्र प्रजा करून घेईल.
10 Then all the peoples of the earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they will stand in awe of you.
१०परमेश्वराच्या नावाने तुम्ही ओळखले जाता हे पाहिल्यावर इतर राष्ट्रांतील लोकांस तुमचा धाक वाटेल.
11 The LORD will make you prosper abundantly—in the fruit of your womb, the offspring of your livestock, and the produce of your land—in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers to give you.
११परमेश्वराने द्यायचे कबूल केलेल्या या देशात तुम्हास भरपूर संतती होईल. गाईचे खिल्लार वाढेल. पीक चांगले येईल.
12 The LORD will open the heavens, His abundant storehouse, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations, but borrow from none.
१२आपले आशीर्वादाचे भांडार परमेश्वर तुमच्यासाठी खुले करील. योग्यवेळी तुमच्या भूमीवर पाऊस पडेल. तुमच्या सर्व कामात त्याचे आशीर्वाद मिळतील. तुम्ही इतर राष्ट्रांना कर्ज द्याल पण तुम्हास कर्ज काढावे लागणार नाही.
13 The LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you will only move upward and never downward, if you hear and carefully follow the commandments of the LORD your God, which I am giving you today.
१३आज मी सांगितलेल्या तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याच्या आज्ञांप्रमाणे वागलात तर तुम्ही नेते व्हाल, अनुयायी होणार नाही, उच्चस्थानी जाल, तळाला जाणार नाही. तेव्हा काळजीपूर्वक या नियमांचे पालन करा.
14 Do not turn aside to the right or to the left from any of the words I command you today, and do not go after other gods to serve them.
१४या शिकवणीपासून परावृत्त होऊ नका. उजवीडावीकडे वळू नका. इतर दैवतांची उपासना करु नका.
15 If, however, you do not obey the LORD your God by carefully following all His commandments and statutes I am giving you today, all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:
१५पण तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याचे जर तुम्ही ऐकले नाहीत, त्याच्या ज्या आज्ञा आणि विधी मी आज सांगत आहे त्यांचे पालन केले नाहीत तर पुढील सर्व शाप तुमच्यामागे लागतील:
16 You will be cursed in the city and cursed in the country.
१६नगरात आणि शेतात तुम्ही शापित व्हाल.
17 Your basket and kneading bowl will be cursed.
१७तुमच्या टोपल्या आणि पराती शापित होतील आणि त्या रिकाम्या राहतील.
18 The fruit of your womb will be cursed, as well as the produce of your land, the calves of your herds, and the lambs of your flocks.
१८परमेश्वराच्या शापाने तुम्हास फार संतती होणार नाही, जमिनीत पीक चांगले येणार नाही, गुराढोरांचे खिल्लार फार वाढणार नाही. वासरे करडे शापित होतील.
19 You will be cursed when you come in and cursed when you go out.
१९बाहेर जाताना आणि आत येताना परमेश्वर तुम्हास शाप देईल.
20 The LORD will send curses upon you, confusion and reproof in all to which you put your hand, until you are destroyed and quickly perish because of the wickedness you have committed in forsaking Him.
२०तुम्ही दुष्कृत्ये करून परमेश्वरापासून परावृत झालात तर तुमच्यावर संकटे कोसळतील. हाती घेतलेल्या प्रत्येक कामात शाप येतील व तुम्ही हताश व्हाल. तुमचा विनाविलंब समूळ नाश होईपर्यंत हे चालेल. परमेश्वराच्या मार्गापासून विचलीत होऊन तुम्ही भलतीकडे गेल्यामुळे असे होईल.
21 The LORD will make the plague cling to you until He has exterminated you from the land that you are entering to possess.
२१जो प्रदेश काबीज करायला तुम्ही जात आहात तेथून तुम्ही पूर्णपणे नष्ट होईपर्यंत परमेश्वर तुम्हास भयंकर रोगराईने ग्रस्त करील.
22 The LORD will strike you with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation, with scorching heat and drought, and with blight and mildew; these will pursue you until you perish.
२२परमेश्वर तुम्हास रोग, ताप, सूज व बुरशी यांनी शिक्षा करील. उष्णता भयंकर वाढेल आणि अवर्षण पडेल. पिके होरपळून आणि कीड पडून करपून जातील. तुमचा नाश होईपर्यंत ही संकटे तुमच्या पाठीस लागतील.
23 The sky over your head will be bronze, and the earth beneath you iron.
२३आकाशात ढग दिसणार नाही. आकाश लखलखीत पितळेसारखे तप्त आणि पायाखालची जमीन लोखंडासारखी घट्ट होईल.
24 The LORD will turn the rain of your land into dust and powder; it will descend on you from the sky until you are destroyed.
२४परमेश्वर पाऊस पाडणार नाही. आकाशातून फक्त धूळ आणि वाळू यांचा वर्षाव होईल. तुमचा नाश होईपर्यंत हे चालेल.
25 The LORD will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You will march out against them in one direction but flee from them in seven. You will be an object of horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.
२५तुम्ही तुमच्या शत्रूपुढे मार खाल असे परमेश्वर करील. शत्रूवर तुम्ही एका दिशेने चढाई कराल आणि सात दिशांनी पळ काढाल. तुमच्यावरील संकटे पाहून पृथ्वीवरील इतर लोक भयभीत होतील.
26 Your corpses will be food for all the birds of the air and beasts of the earth, with no one to scare them away.
२६तुमच्या प्रेतांवर जंगली श्वापदे आणि पक्षी ताव मारतील आणि त्यांना हुसकावून लावायला कोणी असणार नाही.
27 The LORD will afflict you with the boils of Egypt, with tumors and scabs and itch from which you cannot be cured.
२७परमेश्वराने पूर्वी मिसरच्या लोकांस गळवांनी पीडित केले तसेच तो यावेळी तुम्हास करील. गळवे, वाहणारी खरुज, सतत कंड सुटणारा नायटा अशा गोष्टींनी तो तुम्हास शासन करील.
28 The LORD will afflict you with madness, blindness, and confusion of mind,
२८परमेश्वर तुम्हास वेडेपणा, अंधत्व, भांबावलेपण यांनी ग्रस्त करील.
29 and at noon you will grope about like a blind man in the darkness. You will not prosper in your ways. Day after day you will be oppressed and plundered, with no one to save you.
२९तुम्ही भर दिवसा आंधळ्यासारखे चाचपडत चालाल. प्रत्येक कामात अपयशाचे धनी व्हाल. लोक तुम्हास एकसारखे नागवतील, दुखावतील आणि तुम्हास कोणी त्राता राहणार नाही.
30 You will be pledged in marriage to a woman, but another man will violate her. You will build a house but will not live in it. You will plant a vineyard but will not enjoy its fruit.
३०तुमचे जिच्याशी लग्न ठरले आहे, तिचा उपभोग दुसरा कोणी घेईल. तुम्ही घर बांधाल पण त्यामध्ये राहणार नाही. द्राक्षमळा लावाल पण त्याचे फळ तुम्हास मिळणार नाही.
31 Your ox will be slaughtered before your eyes, but you will not eat any of it. Your donkey will be taken away and not returned to you. Your flock will be given to your enemies, and no one will save you.
३१लोक तुमच्यासमोर तुमचा बैल कापतील पण त्याचे मांस तुम्हास खायला मिळणार नाही. तुमची गाढवे लोक पळवून नेतील आणि परत करणार नाही. तुमच्या शेळ्यामेंढ्या शत्रूच्या हाती जातील आणि तुम्हास कोणी सोडवणारा असणार नाही.
32 Your sons and daughters will be given to another nation, while your eyes grow weary looking for them day after day, with no power in your hand.
३२तुमच्या मुला-मुलींचे इतर लोक अपहरण करतील. दिवसांमागून दिवस तुम्ही त्यांचा शोध घ्याल. वाट पाहता पाहता तुमचे डोळे शिणतील पण ती सापडणार नाहीत, आणि देव तुमच्या मदतीला येणार नाही.
33 A people you do not know will eat the produce of your land and of all your toil. All your days you will be oppressed and crushed.
३३तुमच्या जमिनीचे उत्पन्न आणि तुमच्या साऱ्या श्रमाचे फळ एखादे अपरिचित राष्ट्र बळकावेल, लोक तुमची उपेक्षा करतील.
34 You will be driven mad by the sights you see.
३४जे दृष्टीस पडेल त्याने तुम्ही चक्रावून जाल.
35 The LORD will afflict you with painful, incurable boils on your knees and thighs, from the soles of your feet to the top of your head.
३५तुमच्या गुडघ्यांवर, पायांवर, पावलांपासून डोक्यापर्यंत सर्व शरीरावर ठसठसणारी व बरी न होणारी गळवे उठतील. अशा रीतीने परमेश्वर तुम्हास शासन करील.
36 The LORD will bring you and the king you appoint to a nation neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you will worship other gods—gods of wood and stone.
३६तुम्ही, तुमच्या पूर्वजांनी कधी न पाहिलेल्या अशा देशात तुमची व तुमच्या राजाची रवानगी परमेश्वर करील. तुम्ही तेथे काष्ठपाषाणाच्या अन्य देवतांची पूजाअर्चा कराल.
37 You will become an object of horror, scorn, and ridicule among all the nations to which the LORD will drive you.
३७आणि ज्या ज्या राष्ट्रात परमेश्वर तुम्हास नेईल तेथील लोक विस्मयचकित होतील. त्यांच्या चेष्टेचा आणि निंदेचा, म्हणीचा तुम्ही विषय व्हाल.
38 You will sow much seed in the field but harvest little, because the locusts will consume it.
३८तुमच्या शेतात भरपूर पीक येईल पण त्यातले तुमच्या पदरात थोडेच पडेल. कारण बरेचसे टोळधाड फस्त करील.
39 You will plant and cultivate vineyards, but will neither drink the wine nor gather the grapes, because worms will eat them.
३९तुम्ही द्राक्षमळा लावून त्यामध्ये खूप श्रम कराल. पण द्राक्षे किंवा द्राक्षरस तुम्हास मिळणार नाही. कारण किड ते खाऊन टाकील.
40 You will have olive trees throughout your territory but will never anoint yourself with oil, because the olives will drop off.
४०तुमच्या जमिनीत जैतून वृक्ष जिकडे तिकडे येतील पण त्यांचे तेल मात्र तुम्हास मिळणार नाही. कारण फळे जमिनीवर गळून, तेथेच सडून जातील.
41 You will father sons and daughters, but they will not remain yours, because they will go into captivity.
४१तुम्हास मुले आणि मुली होतील पण ती तुम्हास लाभणार नाहीत. त्यांचे अपहरण होईल.
42 Swarms of locusts will consume all your trees and the produce of your land.
४२तुमच्या भूमीचे, तुमच्या झाडांचे, शेतातील उभ्या पिकाचे टोळधाडीने नुकसान होईल.
43 The foreigner living among you will rise higher and higher above you, while you sink down lower and lower.
४३तुमच्या गावात राहणाऱ्या परकीयांची उन्नती होईल आणि तुमची अधोगती होईल.
44 He will lend to you, but you will not lend to him. He will be the head, and you will be the tail.
४४ते तुम्हास कर्ज देतील, तुमच्याजवळ त्यांना उसने द्यायला काही असणार नाही. सर्व शरीरावर मस्तकाचे नियंत्रण असते त्याप्रमाणे ते तुमच्यावर नियंत्रण ठेवतील. तुम्ही जणू तूच्छ बनून रहाल.
45 All these curses will come upon you. They will pursue you and overtake you until you are destroyed, since you did not obey the LORD your God and keep the commandments and statutes He gave you.
४५तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याने जे सांगितले ते तुम्ही ऐकले नाही, त्याच्या आज्ञा आणि नियम यांचे पालन केले नाही, तर हे सर्व शाप तुमचा नायनाट होईपर्यंत तुमचा पिच्छा पुरवतील.
46 These curses will be a sign and a wonder upon you and your descendants forever.
४६हे शाप तुमच्यावर व तुमच्या सतंतीवर कायमचे चिन्ह व आश्चर्य असे होतील.
47 Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and gladness of heart in all your abundance,
४७सर्व तऱ्हेची समृद्धी असताना तुम्ही आनंदाने व उत्साहित मनाने तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याची सेवा केली नाही म्हणून
48 you will serve your enemies the LORD will send against you in famine, thirst, nakedness, and destitution. He will place an iron yoke on your neck until He has destroyed you.
४८परमेश्वराने पाठवलेल्या शत्रूसमोर तुम्हास नतमस्तक व्हावे लागेल. आणि तुम्ही त्यांची सेवा तहान भूकेने गांजलेले दीन, सर्व तऱ्हेने वंचित असे होऊन कराल. परमेश्वर तुमच्या मानेवर लोखंडाचे जोखड ठेवील. ते तुम्हास बाजूला करता येणार नाही. तुमच्या अंतापर्यंत ते तुम्हास वागवावे लागेल.
49 The LORD will bring a nation from afar, from the ends of the earth, to swoop down upon you like an eagle—a nation whose language you will not understand,
४९दूरच्या राष्ट्रांतील शत्रूला परमेश्वर तुमच्यावर पाठवील. त्यांची भाषा तुम्हास समजणार नाही. गरुडांसारखे ते झेपावत येतील.
50 a ruthless nation with no respect for the old and no pity for the young.
५०त्या देशातील लोक क्रूर असतील. वृद्धांचा ते मान राखणार नाहीत. लहानांना दया दाखवणार नाहीत.
51 They will eat the offspring of your livestock and the produce of your land until you are destroyed. They will leave you no grain or new wine or oil, no calves of your herds or lambs of your flocks, until they have caused you to perish.
५१तुमची जनावरे आणि तुम्ही काढलेले पीक ते नेतील. तुम्ही नष्ट होईपर्यंत ते तुमची लूट करतील. धान्य, द्राक्षरस, तेल, गुरेढोरे, शेळ्यामेंढ्या काही म्हणता काही तुम्हास उरणार नाही.
52 They will besiege all the cities throughout your land, until the high and fortified walls in which you trust have fallen. They will besiege all your cities throughout the land that the LORD your God has given you.
५२ते राष्ट्र तुमच्या नगरांना वेढा घालून हल्ला करील. आपल्या नगराभोवती असणारी उंच आणि भक्कम तटबंदी जिच्यावर तुम्ही विश्वास ठेवता. ती पण तटबंदी कोसळून पडेल. तुमचा देव परमेश्वर तुम्हास देणार असलेल्या देशातील तुमच्या सर्व नगरांना शत्रू वेढा घालेल.
53 Then you will eat the fruit of your womb, the flesh of the sons and daughters whom the LORD your God has given you, in the siege and distress that your enemy will inflict on you.
५३तुम्हास फार यातना भोगाव्या लागतील. शत्रू वेढा घालून तुमची रसद तोडेल. त्यामुळे तुमची उपासमार होईल. तुम्ही भुकेने व्याकुळ होऊन, तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याने तुमच्या पोटी घातलेल्या मुलाबाळांनाच तुम्ही खाल.
54 The most gentle and refined man among you will begrudge his brother, the wife he embraces, and the rest of his children who have survived,
५४तुमच्यामधील अत्यंत संवेदनशील आणि हळव्या मनाचा मनुष्यसुध्दा क्रूर बनेल, मग इतरांची काय कथा! क्रूरतेने त्याची नजर इतरांकडे वळेल. आपली प्रिय पत्नी, अजून जिवंत असलेली मुले हीसुध्दा त्यातून सुटणार नाहीत.
55 refusing to share with any of them the flesh of his children he will eat because he has nothing left in the siege and distress that your enemy will inflict on you within all your gates.
५५खायला काहीच शिल्लक उरणार नाही तेव्हा तो आपल्या मुलांचाच घास करेल. आणि त्या मांसात तो कोणालाही, अगदी आपल्या घरातल्यांनाही वाटेकरी होऊ देणार नाही. शत्रूच्या वेढ्यामुळे आणि छळामुळे असे विपरीत घडेल.
56 The most gentle and refined woman among you, so gentle and refined she would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground, will begrudge the husband she embraces and her son and daughter
५६तुमच्यामधील अतिशय कोमल हृदयाची आणि नाजूक स्त्रीसुद्धा क्रूर बनेल. नाजुकपणाची कमाल म्हणजे आजतागायत तिने चालायला जमिनीवर पावलेही टेकवली नसतील. पण आता आपला प्राणप्रिय पती, आपली लाडकी मुले यांच्याबद्दलही ती निष्ठुर होईल.
57 the afterbirth that comes from between her legs and the children she bears, because she will secretly eat them for lack of anything else in the siege and distress that your enemy will inflict on you within your gates.
५७पण लपूनछपून मुलाला जन्म देऊन ते नवजात बालक व प्रसूति वेळी बाहेर पडणारे सर्वकाही ती भुकेने व्याकुळ झाल्यामुळे खाऊन टाकील. जेव्हा तुमचा शत्रू तुमच्या शहरांना वेढा घालील आणि यातना सहन करायला लावील, त्यावेळी वरील सर्व वाईट गोष्टी घडून येतील.
58 If you are not careful to observe all the words of this law which are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name—the LORD your God—
५८या ग्रंथातील सर्व शिकवण व आज्ञा तुम्ही पाळा. प्रतापी आणि भययोग्य तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याचे भय धरा. याप्रमाणे आचरण ठेवले नाहीत तर
59 He will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary disasters, severe and lasting plagues, and terrible and chronic sicknesses.
५९तुमच्यावर व तुमच्या वंशजांवर परमेश्वर अनेक संकटे कोसळवील, भयंकर रोगराई पसरेल.
60 He will afflict you again with all the diseases you dreaded in Egypt, and they will cling to you.
६०अशा रोगराईला आणि उपद्रवांना तुम्ही मिसरमध्ये तोंड दिलेले आहे. त्यांची तुम्हास धास्ती वाटत असे. त्या सगळ्यांतून तुम्हास पुन्हा जावे लागेल.
61 The LORD will also bring upon you every sickness and plague not recorded in this Book of the Law, until you are destroyed.
६१या ग्रंथात नसलेले उपद्रव आणि रोगसुद्धा परमेश्वर तुमच्या मागे लावील. तुमचा समूळ नाश होईपर्यंत तो हे करील.
62 You who were as numerous as the stars in the sky will be left few in number, because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God.
६२आकाशातील ताऱ्यांइतके तुम्ही संख्येने विपुल असलात तरी तुमचा देव परमेश्वर ह्याचे न ऐकल्यामुळे त्यापैकी फारच थोडे शिल्लक रहाल.
63 Just as it pleased the LORD to make you prosper and multiply, so also it will please Him to annihilate you and destroy you. And you will be uprooted from the land you are entering to possess.
६३तुमची भरभराट करायला आणि तुमची संख्या वाढवायला जसा परमेश्वरास आनंद वाटत होता तसाच आनंद त्यास तुमचा नाश करायला आणि तुम्हास रसातळाला न्यायला वाटेल. तुम्ही जो देश काबीज करायला जात आहात तेथून तुम्हास हुसकावून लावले जाईल.
64 Then the LORD will scatter you among all the nations, from one end of the earth to the other, and there you will worship other gods, gods of wood and stone, which neither you nor your fathers have known.
६४परमेश्वर तुम्हास पृथ्वीच्या या टोकापासून त्या टोकापर्यंत सर्व लोकांमध्ये विखरुन टाकील. तेथे तुम्ही काष्ठपाषाणाच्या मूर्तीची उपासना कराल. तुम्हास आणि तुमच्या पूर्वजांना माहीत नसलेल्या परकीय देवांची उपासना कराल.
65 Among those nations you will find no repose, not even a resting place for the sole of your foot. There the LORD will give you a trembling heart, failing eyes, and a despairing soul.
६५या इतर राष्ट्रांमध्ये तुम्हास शांती लाभणार नाही. परमेश्वर तुमचे मन काळजीने पोखरुन टाकील. तुमचे डोळे शीणतील तुम्ही बेचैन व्हाल.
66 So your life will hang in doubt before you, and you will be afraid night and day, never certain of survival.
६६तुम्हास नेहमी आपल्या जीवाची काळजी वाटत राहील, तुम्ही रात्रंदिवस धास्तावलेले रहाल. तुम्हास जिवाची काही खात्री वाटणार नाही.
67 In the morning you will say, ‘If only it were evening!’ and in the evening you will say, ‘If only it were morning!’—because of the dread in your hearts of the terrifying sights you will see.
६७सकाळी तुम्ही म्हणाल, “ही रात्र असती तर बरे!” आणि रात्री म्हणाल, “ही सकाळ असती तर किती बरे!” तुमच्या मनातील भीती आणि डोळ्यांना दिसणाऱ्या गोष्टी यामुळे असे होईल.
68 The LORD will return you to Egypt in ships by a route that I said you should never see again. There you will sell yourselves to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you.”
६८परमेश्वर तुम्हास जहाजातून पुन्हा मिसरला पाठवील. जेथे तुम्हास पुन्हा कधी परतून जावे लागणार नाही असे मी म्हणालो होतो तेथे परमेश्वर तुमची रवानगी करील. मिसरमध्ये तुम्ही शत्रूचे दास म्हणून स्वत: ची विक्री करु बघाल पण कोणीही तुम्हास विकत घेणार नाही.
