Deuteronomy 27
1 Then Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people: “Keep all the commandments I am giving you today.
モーセとイスラエルの長老たちとは民に命じて言った、「わたしが、きょう、あなたがたに命じるすべての戒めを守りなさい。
2 And on the day you cross the Jordan into the land that the LORD your God is giving you, set up large stones and coat them with plaster.
あなたがたがヨルダンを渡ってあなたの神、主が賜わる国にはいる時、あなたは大きな石数個を立てて、それにしっくいを塗り、
3 Write on them all the words of this law when you have crossed over to enter the land that the LORD your God is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you.
そしてあなたが渡って、あなたの先祖たちの神、主が約束されたようにあなたの神、主が賜わる地、すなわち乳と蜜の流れる地にはいる時、この律法のすべての言葉をその上に書きしるさなければならない。
4 And when you have crossed the Jordan, you are to set up these stones on Mount Ebal, as I am commanding you today, and you are to coat them with plaster.
すなわち、あなたがたが、ヨルダンを渡ったならば、わたしが、きょう、あなたがたに命じるそれらの石をエバル山に立て、それにしっくいを塗らなければならない。
5 Moreover, you are to build there an altar to the LORD your God, an altar of stones. You must not use any iron tool on them.
またそこにあなたの神、主のために、祭壇、すなわち石の祭壇を築かなければならない。鉄の器を石に当てず、
6 You shall build the altar of the LORD your God with uncut stones and offer upon it burnt offerings to the LORD your God.
自然のままの石であなたの神、主のために祭壇を築き、その上であなたの神、主に燔祭をささげなければならない。
7 There you are to sacrifice your peace offerings, eating them and rejoicing in the presence of the LORD your God.
また酬恩祭の犠牲をささげて、その所で食べ、あなたの神、主の前で喜び楽しまなければならない。
8 And you shall write distinctly upon these stones all the words of this law.”
あなたはこの律法のすべての言葉をその石の上に明らかに書きしるさなければならない」。
9 Then Moses and the Levitical priests spoke to all Israel: “Be silent, O Israel, and listen! This day you have become the people of the LORD your God.
またモーセとレビびとたる祭司たちとは、イスラエルのすべての人々に言った、「イスラエルよ、静かに聞きなさい。あなたは、きょう、あなたの神、主の民となった。
10 You shall therefore obey the voice of the LORD your God and follow His commandments and statutes I am giving you today.”
それゆえ、あなたの神、主の声に聞き従い、わたしが、きょう、命じる戒めと定めとを行わなければならない」。
11 On that day Moses commanded the people:
その日またモーセは民に命じて言った、
12 “When you have crossed the Jordan, these tribes shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.
「あなたがたがヨルダンを渡った時、次の人たちはゲリジム山に立って民を祝福しなければならない。すなわちシメオン、レビ、ユダ、イッサカル、ヨセフおよびベニヤミン。
13 And these tribes shall stand on Mount Ebal to deliver the curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
また次の人たちはエバル山に立ってのろわなければならない。すなわちルベン、ガド、アセル、ゼブルン、ダンおよびナフタリ。
14 Then the Levites shall proclaim in a loud voice to every Israelite:
そしてレビびとは大声でイスラエルのすべての人々に告げて言わなければならない。
15 ‘Cursed is the man who makes a carved idol or molten image—an abomination to the LORD, the work of the hands of a craftsman—and sets it up in secret.’
『工人の手の作である刻んだ像、または鋳た像は、主が憎まれるものであるから、それを造って、ひそかに安置する者はのろわれる』。民は、みな答えてアァメンと言わなければならない。
16 ‘Cursed is he who dishonors his father or mother.’
『父や母を軽んずる者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
17 ‘Cursed is he who moves his neighbor’s boundary stone.’
『隣人との土地の境を移す者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
18 ‘Cursed is he who lets a blind man wander in the road.’
『盲人を道に迷わす者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
19 ‘Cursed is he who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow.’
『寄留の他国人や孤児、寡婦のさばきを曲げる者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
20 ‘Cursed is he who sleeps with his father’s wife, for he has violated his father’s marriage bed.’
『父の妻を犯す者は、父を恥ずかしめるのであるからのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
21 ‘Cursed is he who lies with any animal.’
『すべて獣を犯す者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
22 ‘Cursed is he who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother.’
『父の娘、または母の娘である自分の姉妹を犯す者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
23 ‘Cursed is he who sleeps with his mother-in-law.’
『妻の母を犯す者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
24 ‘Cursed is he who strikes down his neighbor in secret.’
『ひそかに隣人を撃ち殺す者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
25 ‘Cursed is he who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person.’
『まいないを取って罪なき者を殺す者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
26 ‘Cursed is he who does not put the words of this law into practice.’
『この律法の言葉を守り行わない者はのろわれる』。民はみなアァメンと言わなければならない。
