< Deuteronomy 18 >

1 The Levitical priests—indeed the whole tribe of Levi—shall have no portion or inheritance with Israel. They are to eat the offerings made by fire to the LORD; that is their inheritance.
Àwọn àlùfáà tí wọ́n jẹ́ ọmọ Lefi, àní gbogbo ẹ̀yà Lefi, wọn kì yóò ní ìpín tàbí ogún láàrín Israẹli, wọn yóò máa jẹ nínú ọrẹ ẹbọ tí a fi iná ṣe sí Olúwa, nítorí òun ni ogún un tiwọn.
2 Although they have no inheritance among their brothers, the LORD is their inheritance, as He promised them.
Wọn kì yóò ní ìní láàrín àwọn arákùnrin wọn; Olúwa ni yóò jẹ́ ìní i tiwọn, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti ṣe ìlérí fún wọn.
3 This shall be the priests’ share from the people who offer a sacrifice, whether a bull or a sheep: the priests are to be given the shoulder, the jowls, and the stomach.
Gbogbo èyí ni yóò jẹ́ ìpín àwọn àlùfáà láti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn ènìyàn tí ó fi akọ màlúù tàbí àgùntàn rú ẹbọ; wọn yóò fi èjìká àti ẹ̀rẹ̀kẹ́ méjèèjì àti gbogbo inú fún àlùfáà.
4 You are to give them the firstfruits of your grain, new wine, and oil, and the first wool sheared from your flock.
Àkọ́so irúgbìn ọkà rẹ, ti wáìnì àti ti òróró rẹ, àti àkọ́rẹ́ irun àgùntàn rẹ ni ìwọ yóò fi fún wọn.
5 For the LORD your God has chosen Levi and his sons out of all your tribes to stand and minister in His name for all time.
Nítorí Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ ti yàn wọ́n àti àwọn ọmọ wọn láti inú gbogbo ẹ̀yà láti dúró àti láti ṣe ìránṣẹ́ ní orúkọ Olúwa títí láé.
6 Now if a Levite moves from any town of residence throughout Israel and comes in all earnestness to the place the LORD will choose,
Tí ọmọ Lefi kan bá sì wá láti ibikíbi nínú àwọn ìlú u yín ní Israẹli, níbi tí ó ń gbé ṣe àtìpó, tí ó sì wá gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìfẹ́ rẹ̀ sí ibi tí Olúwa yóò yàn.

8 They shall eat equal portions, even though he has received money from the sale of his father’s estate.
Wọn yóò ní ìpín kan láti jẹ, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé ó ti gba owó nípa títa ogún baba rẹ̀.
9 When you enter the land that the LORD your God is giving you, do not imitate the detestable ways of the nations there.

10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, practices divination or conjury, interprets omens, practices sorcery,

12 For whoever does these things is detestable to the LORD. And because of these detestable things, the LORD your God is driving out the nations before you.
Ẹnikẹ́ni tó bá ṣe nǹkan wọ̀nyí jẹ́ ìríra sí Olúwa, àti nítorí àwọn ìwà ìríra wọ̀nyí ni Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ yóò fi lé àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè wọ̀nyí jáde kúrò níwájú rẹ.
13 You must be blameless before the LORD your God.
O ní láti jẹ́ aláìlẹ́gàn níwájú Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ.
14 Though these nations, which you will dispossess, listen to conjurers and diviners, the LORD your God has not permitted you to do so.
Àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè tí ìwọ yóò gba ilẹ̀ tí wọ́n ń gbé, wọ́n fetí sí tí àwọn tí ó ń ṣe oṣó tàbí ṣe àfọ̀ṣẹ. Ṣùgbọ́n, ní ti ìwọ, Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ kò fi ààyè gbà ọ́ láti ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀.
15 The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to him.
Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ yóò gbé wòlíì kan dìde gẹ́gẹ́ bí èmi láàrín àwọn arákùnrin rẹ. Tìrẹ ni kí o gbọ́.
16 This is what you asked of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, “Let us not hear the voice of the LORD our God or see this great fire anymore, so that we will not die!”
Nítorí èyí ni ohun tí ìwọ béèrè lọ́wọ́ Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ ní Horebu ní ọjọ́ àjọ, nígbà tí ìwọ wí pé, “Kí àwa má ṣe gbọ́ ohùn Olúwa Ọlọ́run wa tàbí rí iná ńlá yìí mọ́. Bí bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́ àwa yóò kú.”
17 Then the LORD said to me, “They have spoken well.
Olúwa sì wí fún mi pé, “Ohun tí wọ́n sọ dára.
18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. I will put My words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.
Èmi yóò gbé wòlíì kan dìde fún wọn láàrín àwọn arákùnrin wọn bí ìwọ, Èmi yóò fi ọ̀rọ̀ mi sí i ní ẹnu, yóò sì sọ fún wọn gbogbo ohun tí mo ti paláṣẹ fún un.
19 And I will hold accountable anyone who does not listen to My words that the prophet speaks in My name.
Ẹnikẹ́ni tí kò bá sì tẹ́tí sí ọ̀rọ̀ mi tí wòlíì náà yóò sọ ní orúkọ mi, èmi fúnra à mi yóò sì béèrè lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀.
20 But if any prophet dares to speak a message in My name that I have not commanded him to speak, or to speak in the name of other gods, that prophet must be put to death.”
Ṣùgbọ́n bí wòlíì kan bá kùgbù sọ ọ̀rọ̀ kan tí èmi kò paláṣẹ fún un láti sọ ní orúkọ mi tàbí wòlíì tí ó sọ̀rọ̀ ní orúkọ ọlọ́run mìíràn, irú wòlíì bẹ́ẹ̀ ní láti kú.”
21 You may ask in your heart, “How can we recognize a message that the LORD has not spoken?”
Ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ lè wí ní ọkàn rẹ pé, “Báwo ni àwa yóò ṣe mọ ọ̀rọ̀ tí Olúwa kò sọ?”
22 When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD and the message does not come to pass or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.
Nígbà tí ohun tí wòlíì bá sọ ní orúkọ Olúwa kò bá wá sí ìmúṣẹ tàbí jẹ́ òtítọ́, ìyẹn ni ọ̀rọ̀ tí Olúwa kò sọ, irú wòlíì bẹ́ẹ̀ tí sọ láìwádìí. Kí ẹ má ṣe bẹ̀rù rẹ̀.
