Deuteronomy 10
1 At that time the LORD said to me, “Chisel out two stone tablets like the originals, come up to Me on the mountain, and make an ark of wood.
फिर याहवेह ने मुझसे कहा: “पहले की पट्टियों के समान दो पट्टियां और बनाओ और मेरे सामने इस पर्वत पर आ जाओ. लकड़ी का एक संदूक भी बनाओ.
2 And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke; and you are to place them in the ark.”
मैं इन पत्थर की पट्टियों पर वही सब लिख दूंगा, जो उन पटलों पर लिखा गया था, जिन्हें तुमने तोड़ दिया है. इन पटलों को तुम उस संदूक में रख दोगे.”
3 So I made an ark of acacia wood, chiseled out two stone tablets like the originals, and went up the mountain with the two tablets in my hands.
फिर मैंने बबूल की लकड़ी से एक संदूक बनाया फिर दो पट्टियां काटी और अपने हाथों में वे दो पट्टियां लेकर पर्वत पर चढ़ गया.
4 And the LORD wrote on the tablets what had been written previously, the Ten Commandments that He had spoken to you on the mountain out of the fire on the day of the assembly. The LORD gave them to me,
याहवेह ने उन दो पट्टियों पर वही लिख दिया, जो उन पहले की पट्टियों पर लिखा गया था: वे दस आदेश, जो तुम्हारे वहां इकट्ठा होने के अवसर पर पर्वत पर अग्नि में से गए थे. ये पटल याहवेह ने मुझे सौंप दिए.
5 and I went back down the mountain and placed the tablets in the ark I had made, as the LORD had commanded me; and there they have remained.
फिर मैं पर्वत से लौट आया और दोनों पट्टियों को उस संदूक में रख दिया, जिसे मैंने बनाया था. याहवेह के आदेश के अनुसार वे वही हैं.
6 The Israelites traveled from Beeroth Bene-jaakan to Moserah, where Aaron died and was buried, and Eleazar his son succeeded him as priest.
(इस अवसर पर इस्राएलियों ने बेने-जआकन के कुंओं से मोसेराह की ओर कूच किया. यहां अहरोन की मृत्यु हो गई और उसे वहीं गाड़ दिया गया. उसके स्थान पर उसके पुत्र एलिएज़र ने पौरोहितिक सेवा शुरू की.
7 From there they traveled to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land with streams of water.
वहां से वे गुदगोदाह की दिशा में आगे बढ़े, फिर गुदगोदाह से योतबाथाह की ओर. यह नदियों की भूमि थी.
8 At that time the LORD set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to serve Him, and to pronounce blessings in His name, as they do to this day.
इस अवसर पर याहवेह ने यह तय कर दिया की लेवी गोत्र के लोग ही याहवेह की वाचा का संदूक उठाया करेंगे, वे ही याहवेह की उपस्थिति में ठहरे रहेंगे, कि उनकी सेवा करें और उनकी महिमा में उनके गीत गाया करें, जो आज तक होता आया है.
9 That is why Levi has no portion or inheritance among his brothers; the LORD is his inheritance, as the LORD your God promised him.
यही कारण है कि लेवी गोत्र के लिए न तो कोई भाग दिया गया है और न ही उनके भाइयों के साथ उनकी कोई मीरास है. खुद याहवेह इस वंश की मीरास हैं, जैसी प्रतिज्ञा याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर द्वारा की गई थी.)
10 I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights, like the first time, and that time the LORD again listened to me and agreed not to destroy you.
पहले की अवधि के समान मैं पर्वत पर चालीस दिन और चालीस रात ठहरा रहा. इस अवसर पर भी याहवेह ने मेरी प्रार्थना सुन ली; उन्होंने तुम्हें नाश करने का विचार ही त्याग दिया.
11 Then the LORD said to me, “Get up. Continue your journey ahead of the people, that they may enter and possess the land that I swore to their fathers to give them.”
तब याहवेह ने मुझे आदेश दिया, “इन लोगों के अगुए होकर यात्रा शुरू करो, कि वे उस देश में प्रवेश करके उस पर अधिकार कर लें, जो देश इन्हें देने की प्रतिज्ञा मैंने शपथ के साथ उनके पूर्वजों से की थी.”
12 And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God by walking in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
तब इस्राएल, तुमसे याहवेह की क्या अपेक्षा है, इसके अलावा कि तुम याहवेह, अपने परमेश्वर के प्रति श्रद्धा और भय का भाव रखो, उनसे प्रेम करो, याहवेह, अपने परमेश्वर की सेवा अपने पूरे हृदय और अपने पूरे प्राण से करो,
13 and to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD that I am giving you this day for your own good?
और याहवेह के आदेशों और नियमों का पालन करो, जो तुम्हारी ही भलाई के उद्देश्य से मैं तुम्हें दे रहा हूं?
14 Behold, to the LORD your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, and the earth and everything in it.
याद रहे, आकाश, सबसे ऊंचा स्वर्ग, पृथ्वी और वह सब, जो पृथ्वी में है, याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर का ही है.
15 Yet the LORD has set His affection on your fathers and loved them. And He has chosen you, their descendants after them, above all the peoples, even to this day.
फिर भी, याहवेह ने तुम्हारे पूर्वजों पर अपना प्रेम बनाए रखा. उनके बाद उनके वंशजों को उन्होंने चुना, अर्थात् अन्य सभी की अपेक्षा तुम सबको, जैसा आज तुम्हारे सामने स्पष्ट है.
16 Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and stiffen your necks no more.
इसलिये अपने हृदय का ख़तना करो और अब तो हठ करना छोड़ दो.
17 For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, mighty, and awesome God, showing no partiality and accepting no bribe.
क्योंकि याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर ही देवताओं से अति महान परमेश्वर हैं. वह अधिराजों के अधिराज हैं, महान, सर्वशक्तिमान, भय-योग्य परमेश्वर. उनके व्यवहार में न तो भेद-भाव है और न ही घूस की कोई संभावना.
18 He executes justice for the fatherless and widow, and He loves the foreigner, giving him food and clothing.
वह अनाथों और विधवाओं का न्याय करते हैं. वह परदेशी के प्रति अपने प्रेम के निमित्त उसे भोजन और वस्त्र प्रदान करते हैं.
19 So you also must love the foreigner, since you yourselves were foreigners in the land of Egypt.
तब तुम भी परदेशी के प्रति अपना प्रेम प्रदर्शित करो; क्योंकि तुम खुद मिस्र देश में परदेशी ही थे.
20 You are to fear the LORD your God and serve Him. Hold fast to Him and take your oaths in His name.
तुममें याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर के प्रति श्रद्धा हो. तुम उन्हीं की सेवा करोगे, उन्हीं के अनुरूप रहोगे और शपथ सिर्फ उन्हीं के नाम की लिया करोगे.
21 He is your praise and He is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome wonders that your eyes have seen.
याहवेह ही तुम्हारी स्तुति के योग्य हैं, वही तुम्हारे परमेश्वर हैं, जिन्होंने तुम्हारे लिए ये अद्धुत और अचंभे के काम किए हैं, जिनके तुम गवाह हो.
22 Your fathers went down to Egypt, seventy in all, and now the LORD your God has made you as numerous as the stars in the sky.
जब तुम्हारे पूर्वज मिस्र में गए थे, तब वे गिनती में कुल सिर्फ सत्तर व्यक्ति ही थे, मगर अब याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर ने तुम्हें ऐसे अनगिनत बना दिया है, जैसे आकाश के तारे.
