< Daniel 7 >
1 In the first year of the reign of Belshazzar over Babylon, Daniel had a dream, and visions passed through his mind as he lay on his bed. He wrote down the dream, and this is the summary of his account.
Babylon siangpahrang Belshazzar siangpahrang ah ohhaih saningto naah, Daniel loe angmah ih iihkhun nuiah angsong naah amaang ah hnuksakhaih to amtueng; amaang ah hnuk ih hmuennawk to anih mah tarik.
2 Daniel declared: “In my vision in the night I looked, and suddenly the four winds of heaven were churning up the great sea.
Daniel mah, Aqum naah hnuksakhaih ka hnuk ih loe khenah, Van ih takhi palitonawk loe kalen parai tuipui nuiah misa angthawk o.
3 Then four great beasts came up out of the sea, each one different from the others:
To naah maeto hoi maeto anghmong ai, moisan palitonawk loe tuipui thung hoiah tacawt o tahang.
4 The first beast was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle. I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted up from the ground and made to stand on two feet like a man, and given the mind of a man.
Hmaloe koek maeto loe kaipui baktiah oh moe, tahmu pakhraeh to a tawnh; ka khet naah angmah ih pakhraeh to azuh moe, kami baktiah khok hoi long ah angdoet; anih khaeah kami ih palung to paek.
5 Suddenly another beast appeared, which looked like a bear. It was raised up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. So it was told, ‘Get up and gorge yourself on flesh!’
Kalah hnetto haih loe taqom baktiah oh. Ahnuk bang ih khok hoiah angdoet moe, pakha thung ih haa salakah panakhuh thumto a kaek; anih khaeah, Angthawk ah loe, moi to kamhah ah caa ah, tiah a naa o.
6 Next, as I watched, another beast appeared. It was like a leopard, and on its back it had four wings like those of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and it was given authority to rule.
To pacoengah ka dan let naah, Kaithlaeng hoi kanghmong, kalah moisan maeto ka hnuk let, a kaeng nuiah tavaa ih pakhraeh palito oh. Moisan loe alu palito oh moe, uk thaihaih akaa to tawnh.
7 After this, as I watched in my vision in the night, suddenly a fourth beast appeared, and it was terrifying—dreadful and extremely strong—with large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed; then it trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the beasts before it, and it had ten horns.
To pacoengah aqum naah hnuksakhaih amtueng let, paroeai thacak moe, zit kaom palito haih moisan to ka hnuk. Anih loe kalen parai sum baktih kaom haa to a tawnh, a kaek ih moi to taprawt pet pet pacoengah paaeh, kanghmat to khok hoiah atit. Anih loe kalah moisannawk hoi anghmong ai, taki hato a tawnh.
8 While I was contemplating the horns, suddenly another horn, a little one, came up among them, and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had eyes like those of a man and a mouth that spoke words of arrogance.
Takinawk to ka poek li naah, takinawk salak hoiah kalah taki tetta maeto tacawt let; tacawt hmaloe taki thumtonawk loe to taki tetta hma ah tangzun hoi nawnto aphong o king. Khenah, to taki tetta loe kami mik baktiah mik to a tawnh moe, amoekhaih lok apae thaih pakha doeh a tawnh.
9 As I continued to watch, thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took His seat. His clothing was white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze.
Ka khet li naah, siangpahrang ih angraengtangkhang to pahung o, Canghnii ih aninawk loe angraeng tangkhang pongah anghnut; a khukbuen loe dantui baktiah anglung, a lu ih sam doeh tuumui baktiah anglung. Anih ih angraeng tangkhang loe hmaipalai baktiah oh moe, angraeng tangkhang khoknawk doeh kangqong hmai baktiah oh.
10 A river of fire was flowing, coming out from His presence. Thousands upon thousands attended Him, and myriads upon myriads stood before Him. The court was convened, and the books were opened.
A hmaa hoiah tui baktiah kangqong hmai to longh; sangto pacoeng, sangto kaminawk mah anih ih tok to sak pae o moe, Anih hmaa ah sang haato pacoeng, sang haato kaminawk angdoet o; lokcaekhaih to oh moe, cabunawk to paongh o.
11 Then I kept watching because of the arrogant words the horn was speaking. As I continued to watch, the beast was slain, and its body was destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire.
Taki tetta mah amoekhaih lok to thuih pongah kawbang maw om tih vai, tiah ka khet; ka khet li naah moisan to hum o moe, kangqong hmai thungah vah o.
12 As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was removed, but they were granted an extension of life for a season and a time.
Kalah moisannawk ih ukhaih to lak pae o ving; toe atue nasetto thungah maw loe nihcae hinghaih to pathlung pae.
13 In my vision in the night I continued to watch, and I saw One like the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into His presence.
Aqum ah hnuksakhaih kai khaeah amtueng, khenah, kami Capa baktiah kaom Kami maeto loe, van ih tamainawk hoiah angzoh. To Kami loe canghnii ih ani khaeah angzoh, anih to Canghnii ih ani hmaa ah caeh o haih.
14 And He was given dominion, glory, and kingship, that the people of every nation and language should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.
Kaminawk, prae kaminawk hoi lok congca pae kaminawk boih mah anih to bok o hanah, uk thaihaih akaa, lensawkhaih hoi prae to anih hanah paek; anih ukhaih loe amro thai ai, dungzan ukhaih ah oh, a prae doeh amro mak ai.
15 I, Daniel, was grieved in my spirit, and the visions in my mind alarmed me.
Kai, Daniel loe patangkhang, ka poek thai ai, hnuksakhaih mah raihaih ang paek.
16 I approached one of those who were standing there, and I asked him the true meaning of all this. So he told me the interpretation of these things:
A taengah angdoe kaminawk maeto khaeah ka caeh moe, to ih hmuennawk thuih koehhaih ahlong to ka dueng. To pongah anih mah to ih hmuennawk thuih koehhaih ahlong to ang leh pae.
17 ‘These four great beasts are four kings who will arise from the earth.
Kalen parai moisan palitonawk loe long hoiah tacawt han koi siangpahrang palito thuih koehhaih ih ni.
18 But the saints of the Most High will receive the kingdom and possess it forever—yes, forever and ever.’
Toe Kasang koek ih kaciim kaminawk mah prae to la o ueloe, dungzan khoek to, ue, dungzan hoi dungzan khoek to toep o tih, tiah thuih.
19 Then I wanted to know the true meaning of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others—extremely terrifying—devouring and crushing with iron teeth and bronze claws, then trampling underfoot whatever was left.
To pacoengah kalah moisannawk hoi anghmong ai, zit kathok sum baktiah kaom haa hoi sum kamling banpacin katawn, a kaek ih moi taprawt pet pet moe, paaeh pacoengah kanghmat moi to khok hoiah atii palito haih moisan kawng to panoek han ka koeh;
20 I also wanted to know about the ten horns on its head and the other horn that came up, before which three of them fell—the horn whose appearance was more imposing than the others, with eyes and with a mouth that spoke words of arrogance.
a lu nuiah taki haato kacawn thuih koehhaih hoi hmaloe ih taki thumto pazawk, mik kaom, amoekhaih lok apae thaih, ampuinawk pongah kalen kue, takinawk salak hoiah tacawt let kalah taki maeto thuih koehhaih ahlong to panoek han ka koeh.
21 As I watched, this horn was waging war against the saints and prevailing against them,
Ka khet li naah to taki mah kaciim kaminawk to misa a tuk moe, nihcae to pazawk;
22 until the Ancient of Days arrived and pronounced judgment in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for them to possess the kingdom.
to pacoengah Canghnii ih ani to angzoh, Kasang koek Sithaw ih kaciim kaminawk khaeah lokcaekhaih to a paek; atue mah phak boeh pongah prae to toep hanah kaciim kaminawk mah lak o.
23 This is what he said: ‘The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on the earth, different from all the other kingdoms, and it will devour the whole earth, trample it down, and crush it.
To naah anih mah, Palito haih moisan loe kalah siangpahrang ukhaih praenawk hoi anghmong ai, long nuiah angzo han koi siangpahrang ukhaih prae palito hnuksakhaih ih ni, to prae mah loe long pum hae paaeh boih tih, long to koisak phaeng ueloe, khok hoiah atii tih.
24 And the ten horns are ten kings who will rise from this kingdom. After them another king, different from the earlier ones, will rise and subdue three kings.
To prae thung hoi tacawt taki haato loe angzo han koi siangpahrang haatonawk hnuksakhaih ih ni, nihcae pacoengah kalah siangpahrang to tacawt tih; anih loe hmaloe ih siangpahrang hoi anghmong mak ai, anih mah siangpahrang thumtonawk to uk boih tih.
25 He will speak out against the Most High and oppress the saints of the Most High, intending to change the appointed times and laws; and the saints will be given into his hand for a time, and times, and half a time.
Anih loe Kasang koek Sithaw to tuk hanah amoekhaih lok to thui tih, Kasang koek ih kaciim kaminawk to pacaekthlaek tih, khotue hoi daannawk to athlaeng hanah tha pathok tih; atue maeto thung, atuenawk thung, atue ahap thung, to tiah sak thaihaih akaa to anih ban ah paek tih.
26 But the court will convene, and his dominion will be taken away and completely destroyed forever.
Toe hnukhuem ah lokcaekhaih to om ueloe, anih ukhaih prae to la pae ving tih, to naah anih loe dungzan khoek to anghma poe tih boeh.
27 Then the sovereignty, dominion, and greatness of the kingdoms under all of heaven will be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will serve and obey Him.’
To pacoengah van tlim ah kaom siangpahrang prae, ukhaih hoi lensawkhaihnawk to Kasang koek Sithaw ih kaciim kaminawk khaeah paek boih tih. To ukhaih prae loe dungzan ukhaih prae ah oh, ukkungnawk boih mah anih to bok o ueloe, a lok to tahngai pae o tih, tiah a naa.
28 Thus ends the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts troubled me greatly, and my face turned pale. But I kept the matter to myself.”
To hmuen kawng thuikoehhaih loe haeah boeng boeh. Kai, Daniel loe ka poekhaih patangkhang moe, mikhmai ka set sut boeh; toe ka hnuk ih hmuennawk to palung thungah ka pakuem, tiah thuih.
