< Amos 7 >

1 This is what the Lord GOD showed me: He was preparing swarms of locusts just after the king’s harvest, as the late spring crop was coming up.
Angraeng Sithaw mah hae hmuen hae ang hnuksak: khenah, siangpahrang taham to aah o boeh moe, hnukkhuem thingthai qumpo athaih naah, anih mah pakhuhnawk to ohsak.
2 And when the locusts had eaten every green plant in the land, I said, “Lord GOD, please forgive! How will Jacob survive, since he is so small?”
Nihcae mah to prae ih phroh to caak o boih pacoengah, Kai mah, Aw Angraeng Sithaw, tahmen raeh, tahmenhaih kang hnik! Jakob loe kawbangmaw angdoe tih? Anih loe tetta ah ni oh, tiah ka naa.
3 So the LORD relented from this plan. “It will not happen,” He said.
To pongah Angraeng dawnpakhuem boeh pongah, hae hmuen hae om mak ai, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
4 This is what the Lord GOD showed me: The Lord GOD was calling for judgment by fire. It consumed the great deep and devoured the land.
Angraeng Sithaw mah hae hmuen hae ang patuek: khenah, Angraeng Sithaw mah hmai hoi lokcaek hanah kawk, kalen parai tuipui to hmai a kanghsak, prae ahap loe hmai mah kangh boih.
5 Then I said, “Lord GOD, please stop! How will Jacob survive, since he is so small?”
To naah kai mah, Aw Angraeng Sithaw, toengh raeh, tahmenhaih kang hnik! Jakob loe kathoeng kae acaeng ah oh pongah, anih loe kawbang maw angdoe thai tih? tiah ka hang.
6 So the LORD relented from this plan. “It will not happen either,” said the Lord GOD.
To pongah Angraeng dawnpakhuem moe, hae hmuen doeh om mak ai boeh, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih.
7 This is what He showed me: Behold, the Lord was standing by a wall true to plumb, with a plumb line in His hand.
Anih mah hae hmuen hae ang hnuksak: khenah, Angraeng mah ban ah tahhaih qui to sin moe, qui hoi tah ih baktiah sak ih tapang nuiah angdoet.
8 “Amos, what do you see?” asked the LORD. “A plumb line,” I replied. “Behold,” said the Lord, “I am setting a plumb line among My people Israel; I will no longer spare them:
To naah Angraeng mah kai khaeah, Amos, timaw na hnuk? tiah ang naa. To naah kai mah, Tahhaih qui ka hnuk, tiah ka naa. To pacoengah Angraeng mah, Khenah, kai mah ih kami Israelnawk salakah tahhaih qui ka suek han; nihcae to ka pathlung mak ai, tiah thuih.
9 The high places of Isaac will be deserted, and the sanctuaries of Israel will be laid waste; and I will rise up against the house of Jeroboam with My sword.”
Isak ih kasang ahmuennawk to phrae ueloe, Israel bokhaih hmuenciimnawk doeh amro tih boeh: Jeroboam ih imthung takoh to sumsen hoiah misa kang thawk thuih han, tiah a thuih.
10 Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent word to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land cannot bear all his words,
To naah Bethel ih qaima Amaziah mah Israel siangpahrang Jeroboam khaeah, Amos mah Israel imthung takoh salakah nang to misa ah suek hanah pacaenghaih oh boeh, tiah lok to pat pae: anih mah thuih ih loknawk boih loe prae mah pauep thai ai.
11 for this is what Amos has said: ‘Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel will surely go into exile, away from their homeland.’”
Amos mah, Jeroboam loe sumsen hoiah dueh tih, Israel loe a prae hoi kangthla ah tamna ah om tih, tiah thuih.
12 And Amaziah said to Amos, “Go away, you seer! Flee to the land of Judah; earn your bread there and do your prophesying there.
To pacoengah Amaziah mah Amos khaeah, Nang, hnukhaih tawn kami, kalah bangah caeh ving ah! Judah prae ah cawn ah: to ah zok angkok ah loe lok to taphong ah:
13 But never prophesy at Bethel again, because it is the sanctuary of the king and the temple of the kingdom.”
hae ahmuen loe siangpahrang ohhaih ahmuen ah oh, siangpahrang ih hmuenciim ah oh pongah, Bethel ah lok taphong let hmalai ah, tiah a naa.
14 “I was not a prophet,” Amos replied, “nor was I the son of a prophet; rather, I was a herdsman and a tender of sycamore-fig trees.
Amos mah Amaziah khaeah, Kai loe tahmaa na ai ni, tahmaa capa doeh na ai ni, kai loe tuutoep kami ah ka oh moe, Sikamor thing khenzawn kami ah ni ka oh.
15 But the LORD took me from following the flock and said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’
Toe tuutoephaih ahmuen hoiah Angraeng mah ang lak moe, kai khaeah, Caeh ah loe kai ih kami Israelnawk khaeah lok to taphong ah, tiah ang naa.
16 Now, therefore, hear the word of the LORD. You say: ‘Do not prophesy against Israel; do not preach against the house of Isaac.’
To pongah vaihi Angraeng ih lok hae tahngai ah: Israel misahaih lok to taphong hmah, Isak imthung takoh misahaih lok doeh thui hmah, tiah nang naa.
17 Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘Your wife will become a prostitute in the city, and your sons and daughters will fall by the sword. Your land will be divided by a measuring line, and you yourself will die on pagan soil. And Israel will surely go into exile, away from their homeland.’”
To pongah Angraeng mah, Na zu loe vangpui thungah tangzat zaw kami ah angcoeng ueloe, na capanawk hoi na canunawk loe sumsen hoiah amtim o tih; na prae loe tah pacoengah amzet o tih; nangmah doeh kamhnong prae ah na dueh tih: Israel loe angmah prae hoi kangthla ah tamna ah caeh o haih tih, tiah thuih.
