2 Kings 21

1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-five years. His mother’s name was Hephzibah.

১মনঃশির বারো বছর ছিল যখন তিনি রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করেছিলেন এবং তিনি পঞ্চান্ন বছর যিরূশালেমে রাজত্ব করেছিলেন। তাঁর মায়ের নাম হিফ্‌সীবা।

2 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD by following the abominations of the nations that the LORD had driven out before the Israelites.

২সদাপ্রভু ইস্রায়েলীয় সন্তানদের সামনে থেকে যে সব জাতিদেরকে তাড়িয়ে দিয়েছিলেন, ঠিক তাদের মত জঘন্য কাজ করে মনঃশি সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা কিছু মন্দ তিনি তাই করতেন।

3 For he rebuilt the high places that his father Hezekiah had destroyed, and he raised up altars for Baal. He made an Asherah pole, as King Ahab of Israel had done, and he worshiped and served all the host of heaven.

৩কারণ তাঁর বাবা হিষ্কিয় যে সব উঁচু স্থান ধ্বংস করেছিলেন এবং সেগুলো তিনি আবার তৈরী করেছিলেন। ইস্রায়েলের রাজা আহাব যেমন করেছিলেন তেমনি তিনিও বাল দেবতার জন্য কতগুলো যজ্ঞবেদী ও একটা আশেরা মূর্ত্তি তৈরী করলেন। তিনি আকাশের সমস্ত বাহিনীদের কাছে মাথা নিচু করে তাদের সেবা করতেন।

4 Manasseh also built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, “In Jerusalem I will put My Name.”

৪সদাপ্রভু যে গৃহের বিষয় বলেছিলেন, “আমি যিরূশালেমে আমার নাম স্থাপন করব,” সদাপ্রভুর সেই গৃহের মধ্যে মনঃশি কতগুলো যজ্ঞবেদী তৈরী করলেন।

5 In both courtyards of the house of the LORD, he built altars to all the host of heaven.

৫সদাপ্রভুর গৃহের দুইটি উঠানেই তিনি আকাশের সমস্ত বাহিনীদের জন্য কতগুলো যজ্ঞবেদী তৈরী করলেন।

6 He sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced sorcery and divination, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did great evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger.

৬তিনি নিজের ছেলেকে আগুনে হোমবলি উৎসর্গ করলেন। তিনি মায়াবিদ্যা ব্যবহার করতেন ও ভবিষ্যতবাণী করতেন এবং যারা ভূতের মাধ্যম হয় এবং মন্দ আত্মাদের সঙ্গে সম্বন্ধ রেখে তিনি তাদের সঙ্গে শলা পরামর্শ করতেন। তিনি সদাপ্রভুর চোখে অনেক মন্দ কাজ করে তাঁকে অসন্তুষ্ট করলেন।

7 Manasseh even took the carved Asherah pole he had made and set it up in the temple, of which the LORD had said to David and his son Solomon, “In this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will establish My Name forever.

৭তিনি যে আশেরা মূর্ত্তি তৈরী করেছিলেন সেটা সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে রেখেছিলেন। এটি সেই গৃহ যার সম্বন্ধে সদাপ্রভু দায়ূদ ও তাঁর ছেলে শলোমনকে বলেছিলেন, “এই গৃহে এবং ইস্রায়েলের সমস্ত গোষ্ঠীর মধ্য থেকে আমার বেছে নেওয়া এই যিরূশালেমে আমি চিরকালের জন্য আমার নাম স্থাপন করব।

8 I will never again cause the feet of the Israelites to wander from the land that I gave to their fathers, if only they are careful to do all I have commanded them—the whole Law that My servant Moses commanded them.”

৮ইস্রায়েলীয়েরা যদি কেবল আমার সব আদেশ যত্নের সঙ্গে পালন করে এবং আমার দাস মোশি তাদের যে ব্যবস্থা দিয়েছে সেই মত চলে তবে আমি তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের যে দেশ দিয়েছি সেই ইস্রায়েল দেশ থেকে তাদের পা আর নাড়াতে দেব না।”

9 But the people did not listen and Manasseh led them astray, so that they did greater evil than the nations that the LORD had destroyed before the Israelites.

৯কিন্তু লোকেরা সেই কথা শোনেনি। যে সব জাতিকে সদাপ্রভু ইস্রায়েলীয় লোকদের সামনে ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছিলেন তাদের থেকেও তারা আরও বেশি খারাপ কাজ করার জন্য মনঃশি তাদের পরিচালিত করলো।

10 And the LORD spoke through His servants the prophets, saying,

১০তাই সদাপ্রভু তাঁর দাস ভাববাদীদের মধ্য দিয়ে এই কথা বললেন,

11 “Since Manasseh king of Judah has committed all these abominations, acting more wickedly than the Amorites who preceded him, and with his idols has caused Judah to sin,

১১“যিহূদার রাজা মনঃশি এই সব জঘন্য পাপ করেছে। তার আগে যে ইমোরীয়েরা ছিল তাদের থেকেও সে আরও বেশি ঘৃণার কাজ করেছে এবং নিজের প্রতিমাগুলো দিয়ে যিহূদাকেও পাপের কাজ করিয়েছে।

12 this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Behold, I am bringing such calamity upon Jerusalem and Judah that the news will reverberate in the ears of all who hear it.

১২সুতরাং সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর বলেছেন যে, দেখো, আমি যিরূশালেম ও যিহূদার উপর এমন বিপদ আনব যে, যে কেউ সেই কথা শুনবে তাদের সকলের কান শিউরে উঠবে।

13 I will stretch out over Jerusalem the measuring line used against Samaria and the plumb line used against the house of Ahab, and I will wipe out Jerusalem as one wipes out a bowl—wiping it and turning it upside down.

১৩শমরিয়ার উপর যে দড়ি এবং আহাবের পরিবারের উপর যে ওলন দড়ি ব্যবহার করা হয়েছিল তা আমি যিরূশালেমের উপর ব্যবহার করব। যেমন একজন থালা মুছে নিয়ে উপুড় করে রাখে তেমনি করে আমি যিরূশালেমকে মুছে ফেলব।

14 So I will forsake the remnant of My inheritance and deliver them into the hands of their enemies. And they will become plunder and spoil to all their enemies,

১৪আমার নিজের বংশধিকারের বাকি অংশকে আমি ত্যাগ করব এবং তাদের শত্রুদের হাতে তাদেরকে তুলে দেব। তাদের নিজের সমস্ত শত্রুদের কাছে শিকারের জিনিস এবং লুটের জিনিসের মত হবে।

15 because they have done evil in My sight and have provoked Me to anger from the day their fathers came out of Egypt until this day.’”

১৫কারণ তারা আমার চোখে যা মন্দ তাই করেছে এবং যেদিন তাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা মিশর থেকে বের হয়ে এসেছিল সেই দিন থেকে আজ পর্যন্ত তারা আমাকে অসন্তুষ্ট করে আসছে।”

16 Moreover, Manasseh shed so much innocent blood that he filled Jerusalem from end to end, in addition to the sin that he had caused Judah to commit, doing evil in the sight of the LORD.

১৬আবার, মনঃশি নির্দোষ লোকদের রক্তপাত করেছিলেন যে, সেই রক্তে যিরূশালেমের এক প্রান্ত থেকে অন্য প্রান্ত পর্যন্ত পূর্ণ করেছিলেন। তিনি যিহূদার লোকদের দিয়ে পাপ করিয়েছিলেন যার ফলে তারা সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা মন্দ তাই করেছিল।

17 As for the rest of the acts of Manasseh, along with all his accomplishments and the sin that he committed, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

১৭মনঃশির অন্যান্য সমস্ত কাজের বিবরণ এবং তাঁর পাপের কথা যিহূদার রাজাদের ইতিহাস নামক বইটিতে কি লেখা নেই?

18 And Manasseh rested with his fathers and was buried in his palace garden, the garden of Uzza. And his son Amon reigned in his place.

১৮পরে মনঃশি নিজের পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে নিদ্রায় গেলেন এবং তাঁকে নিজের রাজবাড়ীর বাগানে, উষের বাগানে কবর দেওয়া হল। আমোন, তাঁর ছেলে তাঁর জায়গায় রাজা হলেন।

19 Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem two years. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz; she was from Jotbah.

১৯আমোন বাইশ বছর বয়সে রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করেছিলেন; তিনি দুই বছর যিরূশালেমে রাজত্ব করেছিলেন। তাঁর মায়ের নাম ছিল মশুল্লেমৎ; তিনি যট্‌বা হারুষের মেয়ে ছিলেন।

20 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, as his father Manasseh had done.

২০আমোন তাঁর বাবা মনঃশি যেমন করেছিলেন তেমনই তিনি সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা মন্দ তাই করতেন।

21 He walked in all the ways of his father, and he served and worshiped the idols his father had served.

২১আমোন তাঁর বাবা যে সব পথে চলেছিলেন তিনিও সেই সব পথ অনুসরণ করলেন; তাঁর বাবা যে সব প্রতিমার পূজা করেছিলেন তিনিও সেগুলোকে পূজা করতেন এবং তাদের সামনে মাথা নত করে প্রণাম করতেন।

22 He abandoned the LORD, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the LORD.

২২তিনি সদাপ্রভু তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের ঈশ্বরকে ত্যাগ করেছিলেন এবং সদাপ্রভুর পথে চলতেন না।

23 Then the servants of Amon conspired against him and killed the king in his palace.

২৩আমোনের দাসেরা তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করে তাঁর নিজের রাজবাড়ীতেই তাঁকে হত্যা করল।

24 But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against King Amon, and they made his son Josiah king in his place.

২৪কিন্তু রাজা আমোনের বিরুদ্ধে যারা ষড়যন্ত্র করেছিল দেশের লোকেরা তাদের সবাইকে মেরে ফেলল এবং তারা যোশিয়কে, তাঁর ছেলে, তাঁর জায়গায় রাজা করল।

25 As for the rest of the acts of Amon, along with his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

২৫আমোনের অন্যান্য সব কাজের বিষয়ের অবশিষ্ট কথা যিহূদার রাজাদের ইতিহাস নামে বইটিতে কি লেখা নেই?

26 And he was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza, and his son Josiah reigned in his place.

২৬উষের বাগানে তাঁর নিজের জন্য করা কবরে তাঁকে কবর দেওয়া হল এবং যোশিয়, তাঁর ছেলে তাঁর জায়গায় রাজা হলেন।
