< 2 Kings 11 >

1 When Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she proceeded to annihilate all the royal heirs.
Bere a Yudahene Ahasia, ne na Atalia tee sɛ ne babarima no awu no, ɔkɔe sɛ ɔrekɔsɛe adehyebusua a aka no.
2 But Jehosheba daughter of King Joram, the sister of Ahaziah, took Joash son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the sons of the king who were being murdered. She put him and his nurse in a bedroom to hide him from Athaliah, and he was not killed.
Nanso Ahasia nuabea Yehoseba a na ɔyɛ ɔhene Yehoram babea no faa Ahasia ba abarimaa ketewa Yoas, yii no fii ɔhene no mma a anka wɔrebekunkum wɔn no mu. Yehoseba de Yoas ne ne gyigyefo kohintaw pia bi mu, sɛnea Atalia renhu no. Ɛno nti, wɔannya abofra no ankum no.
3 And Joash remained hidden with his nurse in the house of the LORD for six years while Athaliah ruled the land.
Yoas ne nea ogyigye no no hintaw wɔ Awurade Asɔredan mu hɔ mfe asia, bere a na Atalia di ɔman no so no.
4 Then in the seventh year, Jehoiada sent for the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, and the guards, and had them brought into the house of the LORD. There he made a covenant with them and put them under oath. He showed them the king’s son
Atalia adedi mfe ason mu no, ɔsɔfo Yehoiada soma ma wɔkɔfaa Karifo asraafo apaafo ne awɛmfo baa Awurade asɔredan mu hɔ. Ɔne wɔn yɛɛ nhyehyɛe, na ɔma wɔkaa ntam sɛ wobedi nokware wɔ Awurade asɔredan mu hɔ. Afei, ɔde ɔhene babarima Yoas kyerɛɛ wɔn.
5 and commanded them, “This is what you are to do: A third of you who come on duty on the Sabbath shall guard the royal palace,
Yehoiada ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Nea ɛsɛ sɛ moyɛ ni. Mo mu nkyɛmu abiɛsa mu baako a moyɛ adwuma homeda no bɛwɛn ahemfi no.
6 a third shall be at the gate of Sur, and a third at the gate behind the guards. You are to take turns guarding the temple—
Nkyɛmu abiɛsa mu baako nso, nwɛn wɔ Sur pon no ano. Na nkyɛmu abiɛsa mu baako a aka no nso, bɛwɛn ahemfi no akyi. Saa akuw abiɛsa yi nyinaa bɛwɛn ahemfi no.
7 the two divisions that would go off duty on the Sabbath are to guard the house of the LORD for the king.
Akuw abien a wɔamma adwuma homeda no nso bɛwɛn Awurade asɔredan no ama ɔhene no.
8 You must surround the king with weapons in hand, and anyone who approaches the ranks must be put to death. You must stay close to the king wherever he goes.”
Mobɛyɛ ɔhene ho awɛmfo kuw, a mukurakura mo akode. Onipa biara a wɔmmaa no kwan a ɔbɛbɛn mo no, munkum no. Bere biara, mommɛn ɔhene no.”
9 So the commanders of hundreds did everything that Jehoiada the priest had ordered. Each of them took his men—those coming on duty on the Sabbath and those going off duty—and came to Jehoiada the priest.
Na asahene no dii biribiara a ɔsɔfo Yehoiada hyɛɛ sɛ wɔnyɛ no so pɛpɛɛpɛ. Asahene no faa asraafo a wɔbaa adwuma homeda no ne wɔn a wɔakɔ adwuma da no no. Wɔde wɔn nyinaa baa ɔsɔfo Yehoiada anim.
10 Then the priest gave to the commanders of hundreds the spears and shields of King David from the house of the LORD.
Ɔmaa wɔn mpeaw ne nkatabo a na bere bi ɛyɛ ɔhene Dawid de a na wɔakora wɔ Awurade asɔredan mu hɔ no.
11 And the guards stood with weapons in hand surrounding the king by the altar and the temple, from the south side to the north side of the temple.
Awɛmfo no gyinagyinaa ɔhene no ho hyiae a wokurakura wɔn akode. Wɔsaa so tee fii asɔredan no anafo fam, de kɔfaa atifi fam, ne afɔremuka no ho nyinaa.
12 Then Jehoiada brought out the king’s son, put the crown on him, presented him with the Testimony, and proclaimed him king. They anointed him, and the people clapped their hands and declared, “Long live the king!”
Na Yehoiada de ɔhene babarima Yoas no pue hyɛɛ no ahenkyɛw. Ɔmaa Yoas Onyankopɔn apam no nhwɛso no bi, sii no ɔhene. Wɔsraa no, na nnipa no nyinaa bɔɔ wɔn nsam, teɛteɛɛ mu se, “Ɔhene nkwa so!”
13 When Athaliah heard the noise from the guards and the people, she went out to the people in the house of the LORD.
Atalia tee gyegyeegye no a awɛmfo no ne nnipa no reyɛ no, ɔyɛɛ ntɛm kɔɔ Awurade asɔredan mu hɔ, kɔhwɛɛ nea ɛrekɔ so.
14 And she looked out and saw the king standing by the pillar, according to the custom. The officers and trumpeters were beside the king, and all the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets. Then Athaliah tore her clothes and screamed, “Treason! Treason!”
Ohuu sɛ ɔhene foforo no gyina beae bi a ɛkyerɛ ne tumi wɔ afadum no ho, sɛnea amanne kyerɛ wɔ ahensi mu no. Na mpanyimfo ne torobɛntohyɛnfo atwa ne ho ahyia. Na nnipa a wofi asase no so mmaa nyinaa redi ahurusi rehyɛn torobɛnto. Bere a Atalia huu eyinom nyinaa no, ɔde ahometew sunsuan ne ntade mu teɛteɛɛ mu sɛ, “Amammɔsɛm! Amammɔsɛm!”
15 And Jehoiada the priest ordered the commanders of hundreds in charge of the army, “Bring her out between the ranks, and put to the sword anyone who follows her.” For the priest had said, “She must not be put to death in the house of the LORD.”
Na ɔsɔfo Yehoiada hyɛɛ asafohene a wɔhwɛ asraafo no so no sɛ, “Momfa no mfi asɔredan mu ha, na munkum obiara a ɔpɛ sɛ ogye no. Munnkum no wɔ Awurade asɔredan mu ha.”
16 So they seized Athaliah as she reached the horses’ entrance to the palace grounds, and there she was put to death.
Enti wɔtwee no de no kɔɔ ɔkwan a apɔnkɔ fa so ba ahemfi hɔ no so, kum no wɔ hɔ.
17 Then Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD and the king and the people that they would be the LORD’s people. He also made a covenant between the king and the people.
Na Yehoiada ne ɔhene no ne ɔmanfo no yɛɛ apam sɛ, wɔbɛyɛ Awurade nkurɔfo. Ɔsan yɛɛ apam too ɔhene no ne nnipa no ntam.
18 So all the people of the land went to the temple of Baal and tore it down. They smashed the altars and idols to pieces, and they killed Mattan the priest of Baal in front of the altars. And Jehoiada the priest posted guards for the house of the LORD.
Na nnipa a wɔwɔ asase no so nyinaa kɔɔ Baal abosonnan mu, kobubu guu fam. Wobubuu afɔremuka ne ahoni ahorow no nyinaa asinasin, kum Baal kɔmfo Matan nso wɔ afɔremuka no anim. Ɔsɔfo Yehoiada maa awɛmfo wɛn Awurade asɔredan no.
19 He took with him the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, the guards, and all the people of the land, and they brought the king down from the house of the LORD and entered the royal palace by way of the Gate of the Guards. Then Joash took his seat on the royal throne,
Na asahene, Karifo asraafo apaafo, awɛmfo no ne nnipa a wɔwɔ asase no so nyinaa dii ɔhene no akyi, de no pue fii Awurade asɔredan no mu. Wɔfaa awɛmfo no pon no ano, kɔɔ ahemfi hɔ, na ɔhene no kɔtenaa ahengua no so.
20 and all the people of the land rejoiced. And the city was quiet, because Athaliah had been put to the sword at the royal palace.
Enti nnipa a wɔwɔ asase no so nyinaa dii ahurusi, na asomdwoe baa kuropɔn no mu, efisɛ wɔakum Atalia wɔ ahemfi.
21 Joash was seven years old when he became king.
Yoas bedii ade no, na wadi mfirihyia ason.
