2 Kings 11

1 When Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she proceeded to annihilate all the royal heirs.

۱ و چون عتلیا، مادر اخزیا دید که پسرش مرده است، او برخاست و تمامی خانواده سلطنت را هلاک ساخت.

2 But Jehosheba daughter of King Joram, the sister of Ahaziah, took Joash son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the sons of the king who were being murdered. She put him and his nurse in a bedroom to hide him from Athaliah, and he was not killed.

۲ اما یهوشبع دختریورام پادشاه که خواهر اخزیا بود، یوآش پسراخزیا را گرفت، و او را از میان پسران پادشاه که کشته شدند، دزدیده، او را با دایه‌اش در اطاق خوابگاه از عتلیا پنهان کرد و او کشته نشد.

3 And Joash remained hidden with his nurse in the house of the LORD for six years while Athaliah ruled the land.

۳ و اونزد وی در خانه خداوند شش سال مخفی ماند وعتلیا بر زمین سلطنت می‌نمود.

4 Then in the seventh year, Jehoiada sent for the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, and the guards, and had them brought into the house of the LORD. There he made a covenant with them and put them under oath. He showed them the king’s son

۴ و در سال هفتم، یهویاداع فرستاده، یوزباشیهای کریتیان و شاطران را طلبید و ایشان را نزد خود به خانه خداوند آورده، با ایشان عهدبست و به ایشان در خانه خداوند قسم داد و پسرپادشاه را به ایشان نشان داد.

5 and commanded them, “This is what you are to do: A third of you who come on duty on the Sabbath shall guard the royal palace,

۵ و ایشان را امرفرموده، گفت: «کاری که باید بکنید، این است: یک ثلث شما که در سبت داخل می‌شوید به دیده بانی خانه پادشاه مشغول باشید.

6 a third shall be at the gate of Sur, and a third at the gate behind the guards. You are to take turns guarding the temple—

۶ و ثلث دیگر به دروازه سور و ثلثی به دروازه‌ای که پشت شاطران است، حاضر باشید، و خانه را دیده بانی نمایید که کسی داخل نشود.

7 the two divisions that would go off duty on the Sabbath are to guard the house of the LORD for the king.

۷ و دو دسته شما، یعنی جمیع آنانی که در روز سبت بیرون می‌روید، خانه خداوند را نزد پادشاه دیده بانی نمایید.

8 You must surround the king with weapons in hand, and anyone who approaches the ranks must be put to death. You must stay close to the king wherever he goes.”

۸ و هر کدام سلاح خود را به‌دست گرفته، به اطراف پادشاه احاطه نمایید و هر‌که از میان صف‌ها درآید، کشته گردد. و چون پادشاه بیرون رود یا داخل شود نزد او بمانید.»

9 So the commanders of hundreds did everything that Jehoiada the priest had ordered. Each of them took his men—those coming on duty on the Sabbath and those going off duty—and came to Jehoiada the priest.

۹ پس یوزباشیها موافق هر‌چه یهویاداع کاهن امر فرمود، عمل نمودند، و هر کدام کسان خود راخواه از آنانی که در روز سبت داخل می‌شدند وخواه از آنانی که در روز سبت بیرون می‌رفتند، برداشته، نزد یهویاداع کاهن آمدند.

10 Then the priest gave to the commanders of hundreds the spears and shields of King David from the house of the LORD.

۱۰ و کاهن نیزه‌ها و سپرها را که از آن داود پادشاه و در خانه خداوند بود، به یوزباشیها داد.

11 And the guards stood with weapons in hand surrounding the king by the altar and the temple, from the south side to the north side of the temple.

۱۱ و هر یکی ازشاطران، سلاح خود را به‌دست گرفته، از طرف راست خانه تا طرف چپ خانه به پهلوی مذبح وبه پهلوی خانه، به اطراف پادشاه ایستادند.

12 Then Jehoiada brought out the king’s son, put the crown on him, presented him with the Testimony, and proclaimed him king. They anointed him, and the people clapped their hands and declared, “Long live the king!”

۱۲ و اوپسر پادشاه را بیرون آورده، تاج بر سرش گذاشت، و شهادت را به او داد و او را به پادشاهی نصب کرده، مسح نمودند و دستک زده، گفتند: «پادشاه زنده بماند.»

13 When Athaliah heard the noise from the guards and the people, she went out to the people in the house of the LORD.

۱۳ و چون عتلیا آواز شاطران و قوم را شنید، نزد قوم به خانه خداوند داخل شد.

14 And she looked out and saw the king standing by the pillar, according to the custom. The officers and trumpeters were beside the king, and all the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets. Then Athaliah tore her clothes and screamed, “Treason! Treason!”

۱۴ و دید که اینک پادشاه بر‌حسب عادت، نزد ستون ایستاده. و سروران و کرنانوازان نزد پادشاه بودند و تمامی قوم زمین شادی می‌کردند و کرناها را می‌نواختند. پس عتلیا لباس خود را دریده، صدا زد که خیانت! خیانت!

15 And Jehoiada the priest ordered the commanders of hundreds in charge of the army, “Bring her out between the ranks, and put to the sword anyone who follows her.” For the priest had said, “She must not be put to death in the house of the LORD.”

۱۵ و یهویاداع کاهن، یوزباشیها را که سرداران فوج بودند، امر فرموده، ایشان را گفت: «او را از میان صفها بیرون کنید و هر‌که از عقب اوبرود، به شمشیر کشته شود.» زیرا کاهن فرموده بود که در خانه خداوند کشته نگردد.

16 So they seized Athaliah as she reached the horses’ entrance to the palace grounds, and there she was put to death.

۱۶ پس او راراه دادند و از راهی که اسبان به خانه پادشاه می‌آمدند، رفت و در آنجا کشته شد.

17 Then Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD and the king and the people that they would be the LORD’s people. He also made a covenant between the king and the people.

۱۷ و یهویادع در میان خداوند و پادشاه و قوم عهد بست تا قوم خداوند باشند و همچنین درمیان پادشاه و قوم.

18 So all the people of the land went to the temple of Baal and tore it down. They smashed the altars and idols to pieces, and they killed Mattan the priest of Baal in front of the altars. And Jehoiada the priest posted guards for the house of the LORD.

۱۸ و تمامی قوم زمین به خانه بعل رفته، آن را منهدم ساختند و مذبح هایش وتماثیلش را خرد درهم شکستند. و کاهن بعل، متان را روبروی مذبح‌ها کشتند و کاهن ناظران برخانه خداوند گماشت.

19 He took with him the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, the guards, and all the people of the land, and they brought the king down from the house of the LORD and entered the royal palace by way of the Gate of the Guards. Then Joash took his seat on the royal throne,

۱۹ و یوزباشیها و کریتیان و شاطران و تمامی قوم زمین را برداشته، ایشان پادشاه را از خانه خداوند به زیر آوردند و به راه دروازه شاطران به خانه پادشاه آمدند و او برکرسی پادشاهان بنشست.

20 and all the people of the land rejoiced. And the city was quiet, because Athaliah had been put to the sword at the royal palace.

۲۰ و تمامی قوم زمین شادی کردند و شهر آرامی یافت و عتلیا را نزدخانه پادشاه به شمشیر کشتند.

21 Joash was seven years old when he became king.

۲۱ و چون یوآش پادشاه شد، هفت ساله بود.
