2 Corinthians 13
1 This is the third time I am coming to you. “Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.”
Zum drittenmale komme ich jetzt zu euch. Durch zweier oder dreier Zeugen Mund wird eine Sache fest.
2 I already warned you the second time I was with you. So now in my absence I warn those who sinned earlier and everyone else: If I return, I will not spare anyone,
Ich habe es zuvor gesagt und sage es zuvor, nämlich wie ich das zweitemal da war, und jetzt da ich abwesend bin, denen die zuvor gesündigt haben und den andern allen: daß ich, wenn ich noch einmal komme, keine Schonung kennen werde.
3 since you are demanding proof that Christ is speaking through me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you.
Wollt ihr doch eine Probe haben, daß Christus in mir spricht, und der ist nicht schwach gegen euch, sondern mächtig über euch.
4 For He was indeed crucified in weakness, yet He lives by God’s power. And though we are weak in Him, yet by God’s power we will live with Him to serve you.
Denn er ist wohl aus Schwachheit gekreuzigt, aber er lebt aus Gottes Kraft. So sind auch wir wohl schwach in ihm, aber wir werden leben mit ihm aus Gottes Kraft gegen euch.
5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Can’t you see for yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you—unless you actually fail the test?
Versuchet euch selbst, ob ihr im Glauben seid; prüfet euch selbst, oder erkennet ihr nicht an euch selbst, daß Christus Jesus unter euch ist? Ihr müßtet denn gar unecht sein.
6 And I hope you will realize that we have not failed the test.
Von uns aber, hoffe ich, sollt ihr erkennen, daß wir nicht unecht sind.
7 Now we pray to God that you will not do anything wrong—not that we will appear to have stood the test, but that you will do what is right, even if we appear to have failed.
Wir flehen aber zu Gott, daß ihr nichts thun möget, was vom Uebel ist; es ist uns nicht darum, daß wir als die echten gelten, sondern darum, daß ihr euch gut halten möget, und wir wie unecht dastehen.
8 For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth.
Denn wir vermögen nichts wider die Wahrheit, sondern nur für die Wahrheit.
9 In fact, we rejoice when we are weak but you are strong, and our prayer is for your perfection.
Wir freuen uns ja, wenn wir schwach sind, ihr aber stark waret. Darauf geht auch unser Flehen, daß es mit euch richtig werde.
10 This is why I write these things while absent, so that when I am present I will not need to be severe in my use of the authority that the Lord gave me for building you up, not for tearing you down.
Darum schreibe ich dies aus der Ferne, damit ich nicht, wenn ich da bin, kurzen Prozeß machen muß nach der Gewalt, die mir der Herr verliehen hat zur Erbauung, nicht zur Zerstörung.
11 Finally, brothers, rejoice! Aim for perfect harmony, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
Kurz, Brüder, freuet euch, und lasset euch zurechtbringen, ermahnen; seid einerlei Sinnes, haltet Frieden, so wird der Gott der Liebe und des Friedens mit euch sein.
12 Greet one another with a holy kiss.
Grüßet euch wechselweise mit dem heiligen Kuß.
13 All the saints send you greetings.
Es grüßen euch die Heiligen alle.
14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.
Die Gnade des Herrn Jesus Christus und die Liebe Gottes und die Gemeinschaft des heiligen Geistes mit euch allen.
