2 Chronicles 31
1 When all this had ended, the Israelites in attendance went out to the cities of Judah and broke up the sacred pillars, chopped down the Asherah poles, and tore down the high places and altars throughout Judah and Benjamin, as well as in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had utterly destroyed them all. Then all the Israelites returned to their cities, each to his own property.
Als nun alles dies beendigt war, zogen sämtliche dabei anwesende Israeliten hinaus in die Städte Judas, zertrümmerten die Malsteine, hieben die Ascheren um und zerstörten die Opferhöhen und die Altäre in ganz Juda, Benjamin, Ephraim und Manasse, bis sie gänzlich damit aufgeräumt hatten. Alsdann kehrten sämtliche Israeliten, ein jeder in seinen Erbbesitz, in ihre Städte zurück.
2 Hezekiah reestablished the divisions of the priests and Levites—each of them according to their duties as priests or Levites—for the burnt offerings and peace offerings, for ministry, for giving thanks, and for singing praises at the gates of the LORD’s dwelling.
Hiskia aber bestellte die Abteilungen der Priester und Leviten nach ihren Abteilungen, einen jeden nach Maßgabe des ihm obliegenden priesterlichen oder levitischen Dienstes beim Brandopfer und bei den Heilsopfern, damit sie in den Thoren des Lagers Jahwes Dienst thäten und Danksagung und Lobpreis anstimmten.
3 The king contributed from his own possessions for the regular morning and evening burnt offerings and for the burnt offerings on the Sabbaths, New Moons, and appointed feasts, as written in the Law of the LORD.
Und der Beitrag des Königs von seiner Habe diente zur Beschaffung der Brandopfer, der Morgen- und Abendbrandopfer, sowie der Brandopfer an den Sabbaten, den Neumonden und den Festen, gemäß den Vorschriften im Gesetze Jahwes.
4 Moreover, he commanded the people living in Jerusalem to make a contribution for the priests and Levites so that they could devote themselves to the Law of the LORD.
Und er gebot dem Volke, den Bewohnern Jerusalems, den Priestern und Leviten den ihnen gebührenden Anteil zu liefern, damit sie am Gesetze Jahwes festhalten könnten.
5 As soon as the order went out, the Israelites generously provided the firstfruits of the grain, new wine, oil, and honey, and of all the produce of the field, and they brought in an abundance—a tithe of everything.
Als sich dieser Befehl verbreitete, lieferten die Israeliten Erstlinge vom Getreide, Most, Öl, Honig und allem Ertrage des Ackers in Menge und brachten den Zehnten von allem in Masse.
6 And the Israelites and Judahites who lived in the cities of Judah also brought a tithe of their herds and flocks and a tithe of the holy things consecrated to the LORD their God, and they laid them in large heaps.
Die Israeliten und Judäer aber, die in den Städten Judas wohnten, brachten gleichfalls den Zehnten von Rindern und Schafen und den Zehnten von den Weihegaben, die Jahwe, ihrem Gotte, geweiht wurden, und legten ihn in lauter einzelnen Haufen hin.
7 In the third month they began building up the heaps, and they finished in the seventh month.
Im dritten Monat begannen sie mit dem Aufschütten der Haufen und im siebenten Monate waren sie damit zu Ende.
8 When Hezekiah and his officials came and viewed the heaps, they blessed the LORD and His people Israel.
Da kamen Hiskia und die Obersten herbei, besichtigten die Haufen und priesen Jahwe und sein Volk Israel.
9 Then Hezekiah questioned the priests and Levites about the heaps,
Als nun Hiskia die Priester und Leviten in betreff der Haufen befragte,
10 and Azariah, the chief priest of the household of Zadok, answered him, “Since the people began to bring their contributions into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat and there is plenty left over, because the LORD has blessed His people; this great abundance is what is left over.”
antwortete ihm Asarja, der Hohepriester vom Hause Zadoks, und sprach: Seit man angefangen hat, die Hebe zum Tempel Jahwes zu bringen, haben wir uns satt gegessen und noch viel übrig behalten; denn Jahwe hat sein Volk gesegnet, so daß wir diese Masse übrig behielten.
11 Then Hezekiah commanded them to prepare storerooms in the house of the LORD, and they did so.
Da gebot Hiskia, im Tempel Jahwes Zellen herzurichten. Und als man sie hergerichtet hatte,
12 And they faithfully brought in the contributions, tithes, and dedicated gifts. Conaniah the Levite was the officer in charge of them, and his brother Shimei was second.
brachte man die Hebe und den Zehnten und die Weihegaben gewissenhaft hinein. Und der Levit Chananja war Aufseher darüber, und sein Bruder Simei als zweiter im Rang;
13 Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath, and Benaiah were overseers under the authority of Conaniah and his brother Shimei, by appointment of King Hezekiah and of Azariah the chief official of the house of God.
Jehiel aber, Asasja, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Josabad, Eliel, Jismachja, Mahath und Benaja waren Chananja und seinem Bruder Simei als Gehilfen beigegeben, nach der Anordnung des Königs Hiskia und Asarjas, des Fürsten im Tempel Gottes.
14 Kore son of Imnah the Levite, the keeper of the East Gate, was in charge of the freewill offerings given to God, distributing the contributions to the LORD and the consecrated gifts.
Und der Levit Kore, der Sohn Jimnas, der Thorhüter nach Osten zu, beaufsichtigte die Gaben, welche Gotte freiwillig gespendet wurden, damit die Jahwe zufallende Hebe und die hochheiligen Gaben abgeliefert würden.
15 Under his authority, Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah faithfully distributed portions to their fellow priests in their cities, according to their divisions, old and young alike.
Unter seiner Aufsicht aber standen Eden, Minjamin, Jesua, Semaja, Amarja und Sechanja, damit sie in den Priesterstädten ihren Amtsgenossen abteilungsweise, den Alten wie den Jungen, gewissenhaft ihren Anteil gäben,
16 In addition, they distributed portions to the males registered by genealogy who were three years of age or older—to all who would enter the house of the LORD for their daily duties for service in the responsibilities of their divisions—
abgesehen von den Mannspersonen unter ihnen, die in die Geschlechtsregister eingetragen waren, von den Dreijährigen an und darüber, von allen, die zum Tempel Jahwes kamen, wie es ein jeder Tag erforderte, um je nach ihren Obliegenheiten abteilungsweise ihren Dienst zu thun.
17 and to the priests enrolled according to their families in the genealogy, as well as to the Levites twenty years of age or older, according to their duties and divisions.
Und was die Eintragung der Priester in die Geschlechtsregister betrifft, so erfolgte sie familienweise und die der Leviten von den Zwanzigjährigen an und darüber nach ihren Obliegenheiten, ihren Abteilungen.
18 The genealogy included all the little ones, wives, sons, and daughters in the whole assembly. For they had faithfully consecrated themselves as holy.
Und zwar mußten sie samt ihren kleinen Kindern, ihren Frauen, Söhnen und Töchtern, denen des ganzen Standes, eingetragen werden; denn mit Gewissenhaftigkeit ihrerseits pflegten sie sich gründlich zu heiligen.
19 As for the priests, the descendants of Aaron, who lived on the farmlands around each of their cities or in any other city, men were designated by name to distribute a portion to every male among the priests and to every Levite listed by the genealogies.
Dazu hatten die Nachkommen Aarons, die Priester, auf den Feldern der zu ihren Städten gehörenden Trift, in jeder einzelnen Stadt, Leute, die namentlich bezeichnet waren, damit sie allen Mannspersonen unter den Priestern und allen ins Geschlechtsregister eingetragenen Leviten ihre Anteile gäben.
20 So this is what Hezekiah did throughout Judah. He did what was good and upright and true before the LORD his God.
So verfuhr Hiskia in ganz Juda und that, was vor Jahwe, seinem Gotte, gut und recht und gewissenhaft war.
21 He was diligent in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law and the commandments, in order to seek his God. And so he prospered.
Und bei allem Thun, das er anhob, in betreff des Dienstes am Tempel Gottes und in betreff des Gesetzes und des Gebots, um mit alledem seinen Gott zu suchen, handelte er von ganzem Herzen und hatte Gelingen.
