2 Chronicles 25
1 Amaziah was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-nine years. His mother’s name was Jehoaddan; she was from Jerusalem.
ଅମତ୍ସୀୟ ରାଜ୍ୟ କରିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରିବା ସମୟରେ ପଚିଶ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସ୍କ ହୋଇଥିଲେ; ସେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରେ ଅଣତିରିଶ ବର୍ଷ ରାଜ୍ୟ କଲେ; ତାଙ୍କର ମାତାଙ୍କ ନାମ ଯିହୋୟଦ୍ଦନ୍, ସେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ ନିବାସିନୀ ଥିଲେ।
2 And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, but not wholeheartedly.
ସେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଯଥାର୍ଥ କର୍ମ କଲେ, ମାତ୍ର ସିଦ୍ଧ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣରେ କଲେ ନାହିଁ।
3 As soon as the kingdom was firmly in his grasp, Amaziah executed the servants who had murdered his father the king.
ତାଙ୍କର ରାଜ୍ୟ ସୁସ୍ଥିର ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ସେ ତାଙ୍କର ପିତା ରାଜାଙ୍କର ହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ଆପଣା ଦାସମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କଲେ।
4 Yet he did not put their sons to death, but acted according to what is written in the Law, in the Book of Moses, where the LORD commanded: “Fathers must not be put to death for their children, and children must not be put to death for their fathers; each is to die for his own sin.”
ତଥାପି ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣକୁ ବଧ କଲେ ନାହିଁ; “ମାତ୍ର ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ପାଇଁ ପିତୃଗଣର ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ହେବ ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା ପିତୃଗଣ ପାଇଁ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ହେବ ନାହିଁ,” କିନ୍ତୁ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଲୋକ ନିଜ ପାପ ଲାଗି ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁଭୋଗ କରିବ; ମୋଶାଙ୍କର ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା-ପୁସ୍ତକରେ ଲିଖିତ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଏହି ଆଜ୍ଞା ପ୍ରମାଣେ କର୍ମ କଲେ।
5 Then Amaziah gathered the people of Judah and assigned them according to their families to commanders of thousands and of hundreds. And he numbered those twenty years of age or older throughout Judah and Benjamin and found 300,000 chosen men able to serve in the army, bearing the spear and shield.
ଆହୁରି, ଅମତ୍ସୀୟ ଯିହୁଦା-ବଂଶକୁ ଏକତ୍ର କଲେ, ପୁଣି ସମସ୍ତ ଯିହୁଦା ଓ ବିନ୍ୟାମୀନ୍ର ପିତୃବଂଶାନୁସାରେ ସହସ୍ରପତି ଓ ଶତପତିମାନଙ୍କ ଅଧୀନରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଶ୍ରେଣୀବଦ୍ଧ କଲେ; ପୁଣି, ସେ କୋଡ଼ିଏ ବର୍ଷ ଓ ତତୋଧିକ ବୟସ୍କ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗଣନା କରନ୍ତେ, ବର୍ଚ୍ଛା ଓ ଢାଲ ଧରି ଯୁଦ୍ଧକୁ ଯିବାକୁ ସମର୍ଥ ତିନି ଲକ୍ଷ ବଛା ଲୋକ ପାଇଲେ।
6 He also hired 100,000 mighty warriors from Israel for a hundred talents of silver.
ମଧ୍ୟ ସେ ଏକ ଶହ ତାଳନ୍ତ ରୂପା ବେତନ ଦେଇ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଏକ ଲକ୍ଷ ମହାବିକ୍ରମଶାଳୀ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କଲେ।
7 But a man of God came to him and said, “O king, do not let the army of Israel go with you, for the LORD is not with Israel—not with any of the Ephraimites.
ମାତ୍ର ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ଏକ ଲୋକ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି କହିଲେ, “ହେ ରାଜନ୍, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ସୈନ୍ୟ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ନ ଯାଉନ୍ତୁ; କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସଙ୍ଗରେ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍, ଇଫ୍ରୟିମର ସମସ୍ତ ସନ୍ତାନ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ନାହାନ୍ତି।
8 Even if you go and fight bravely in battle, God will make you stumble before the enemy, for God has power to help and power to overthrow.”
ମାତ୍ର ଯେବେ ଆପଣ ଯିବେ, ତେବେ ସାହସରେ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରନ୍ତୁ, ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ବଳବାନ ହେଉନ୍ତୁ; ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଶତ୍ରୁ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ନିପାତ କରିବେ, କାରଣ ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କରିବାକୁ ଓ ନିପାତ କରିବାକୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଶକ୍ତି ଅଛି।”
9 Amaziah asked the man of God, “What should I do about the hundred talents I have given to the army of Israel?” And the man of God replied, “The LORD is able to give you much more than this.”
ତହିଁରେ ଅମତ୍ସୀୟ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଭଲ, ମାତ୍ର ମୁଁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସୈନ୍ୟକୁ ଯେଉଁ ଏକ ଶହ ତାଳନ୍ତ ରୂପା ଦେଇଅଛି, ତହିଁ ପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କʼଣ କରିବା?” ଏଥିରେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଲୋକ ଉତ୍ତର କଲେ; “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ତହିଁରୁ ଅତି ଅଧିକ ଦେବାକୁ ସମର୍ଥ ଅଟନ୍ତି।”
10 So Amaziah dismissed the troops who had come to him from Ephraim and sent them home. And they were furious with Judah and returned home in great anger.
ତହୁଁ ଅମତ୍ସୀୟ ଇଫ୍ରୟିମରୁ ଆପଣା ନିକଟକୁ ଆଗତ ସୈନ୍ୟଦଳକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଗୃହକୁ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ପୃଥକ କଲେ; ଏଣୁ ଯିହୁଦା ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର କ୍ରୋଧ ଅତି ପ୍ରଜ୍ୱଳିତ ହେଲା ଓ ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରଚଣ୍ଡ କ୍ରୋଧରେ ଗୃହକୁ ଫେରିଗଲେ।
11 Amaziah, however, summoned his strength and led his troops to the Valley of Salt, where he struck down 10,000 men of Seir,
ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଅମତ୍ସୀୟ ସାହସିକ ହୋଇ ଆପଣା ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ କଢ଼ାଇ ନେଇ ଲବଣ ଉପତ୍ୟକାକୁ ଗଲେ ଓ ସେୟୀର-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ଦଶ ସହସ୍ର ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କଲେ।
12 and the army of Judah also captured 10,000 men alive. They took them to the top of a cliff and threw them down so that all were dashed to pieces.
ପୁଣି, ଯିହୁଦା-ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ ଅନ୍ୟ ଦଶ ସହସ୍ର ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଜୀବିତ ବନ୍ଦୀ କରି ନେଇଗଲେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଶୈଳଶିଖରକୁ ନେଇ ସେଠାରୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ତଳେ ପକାଇଦେଲେ, ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ସମସ୍ତେ ଚୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହୋଇଗଲେ।
13 Meanwhile the troops that Amaziah had dismissed from battle raided the cities of Judah, from Samaria to Beth-horon. They struck down 3,000 people and carried off a great deal of plunder.
ମାତ୍ର ଅମତ୍ସୀୟ ଯେଉଁ ସେନାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆପଣା ସଙ୍ଗେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧକୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ଉପଯୁକ୍ତ ମନେ ନ କରି ଫେରାଇ ଦେଇଥିଲେ, ସେମାନେ ଶମରୀୟାଠାରୁ ବେଥ୍-ହୋରଣ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପଡ଼ି ଯିହୁଦାର ନଗରସବୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କଲେ ଓ ତିନି ସହସ୍ର ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରି ବହୁତ ଲୁଟଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ନେଲେ।
14 When Amaziah returned from the slaughter of the Edomites, he brought back the gods of the Seirites, set them up as his own gods, bowed before them, and burned sacrifices to them.
ଅମତ୍ସୀୟ ଇଦୋମୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ସଂହାର କରି ଫେରି ଆସିଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେ ସେୟୀର-ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ଦେବଗଣକୁ ଆଣି ଆପଣାର ଦେବତା ହେବା ପାଇଁ ସ୍ଥାପନ କଲେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ପ୍ରଣାମ କରି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟରେ ଧୂପ ଜ୍ୱଳାଇଲେ।
15 Therefore the anger of the LORD burned against Amaziah, and He sent him a prophet, who said, “Why have you sought this people’s gods, which could not deliver them from your hand?”
ଏହେତୁ ଅମତ୍ସୀୟଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ କ୍ରୋଧ ପ୍ରଜ୍ୱଳିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ସେ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଏକ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ପଠାଇଲେ, ଯେ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, “ଯେଉଁ ଦେବଗଣ ଆପଣା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କଲେ ନାହିଁ, ଆପଣ କାହିଁକି ସେହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଦେବଗଣର ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି?”
16 While he was still speaking, the king asked, “Have we made you the counselor to the king? Stop! Why be struck down?” So the prophet stopped, but he said, “I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not heeded my advice.”
ସେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଏହି କଥା କହିବା ବେଳେ, ରାଜା ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କʼଣ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ରାଜମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ କରିଅଛୁ? କ୍ଷାନ୍ତ ହୁଅ! କାହିଁକି ମାଡ଼ ଖାଇବ?” ଏଥିରେ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା କ୍ଷାନ୍ତ ହୋଇ କହିଲା, “ମୁଁ ଜାଣେ, ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ବିନାଶ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସ୍ଥିର କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, କାରଣ ଆପଣ ଏହା କରିଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ମୋʼ ପରାମର୍ଶରେ କର୍ଣ୍ଣପାତ କରି ନାହାନ୍ତି।”
17 Then Amaziah king of Judah took counsel and sent word to the king of Israel Jehoash son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu. “Come, let us meet face to face,” he said.
ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ଅମତ୍ସୀୟ ପରାମର୍ଶ ନେଇ ଯେହୂଙ୍କର ପୌତ୍ର, ଯିହୋୟାହସ୍ଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ଯୋୟାଶ୍ଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ କହିଲେ, “ଆସ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପରସ୍ପର ମୁଖ ଦେଖାଦେଖି ହେବା।”
18 But Jehoash king of Israel replied to Amaziah king of Judah: “A thistle in Lebanon sent a message to a cedar in Lebanon, saying, ‘Give your daughter to my son in marriage.’ Then a wild beast in Lebanon came along and trampled the thistle.
ତହିଁରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ଯୋୟାଶ୍ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ଅମତ୍ସୀୟଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ କହିଲେ, “ଲିବାନୋନର କଣ୍ଟକଲତା ଲିବାନୋନର ଏରସ ବୃକ୍ଷ ନିକଟକୁ କହି ପଠାଇଲା, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭ କନ୍ୟାକୁ ମୋʼ ପୁତ୍ର ସଙ୍ଗେ ବିବାହ ଦିଅ;’ ଏଥିମଧ୍ୟରେ ଲିବାନୋନର ଏକ ବନ୍ୟ ପଶୁ ନିକଟ ଦେଇ ଯାଉ ଯାଉ ସେହି କଣ୍ଟକଲତାକୁ ଦଳି ପକାଇଲା।
19 You have said, ‘Look, I have defeated Edom,’ and your heart has become proud and boastful. Now stay at home. Why should you stir up trouble so that you fall—you and Judah with you?”
ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଇଦୋମକୁ ପରାସ୍ତ କରିଅଛ ବୋଲି କହୁଅଛ; ତେଣୁ ଦର୍ପ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ମନ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ପ୍ରବୃତ୍ତି ଦେଉଅଛି; ଏବେ ଆପଣା ଘରେ ଥାଅ, ଆପଣାର ଅମଙ୍ଗଳ ପାଇଁ କାହିଁକି ବିରୋଧ କରିବ? ପୁଣି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଯିହୁଦା, ଦୁହେଁ କାହିଁକି ପତିତ ହେବ?”
20 But Amaziah would not listen, for this had come from God in order to deliver them into the hand of Jehoash, because they had sought the gods of Edom.
ମାତ୍ର ଅମତ୍ସୀୟ ଶୁଣିଲେ ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ଲୋକମାନେ ଇଦୋମୀୟ ଦେବଗଣର ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରିବା ହେତୁରୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଯେପରି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଶତ୍ରୁଗଣ ହସ୍ତରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବେ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଆଡ଼ୁ ଏହି ଘଟଣା ହେଲା।
21 So Jehoash king of Israel advanced, and he and Amaziah king of Judah faced each other at Beth-shemesh in Judah.
ତହୁଁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ଯୋୟାଶ୍ ଗଲେ; ଆଉ ଯିହୁଦାର ଅଧିକାରସ୍ଥ ବେଥ୍-ଶେମଶରେ ସେ ଓ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ଅମତ୍ସୀୟ ପରସ୍ପର ମୁଖ ଦେଖାଦେଖି ହେଲେ।
22 And Judah was routed before Israel, and every man fled to his own home.
ଏଥିରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଯିହୁଦା ପରାସ୍ତ ହେଲା, ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ତମ୍ବୁକୁ ପଳାଇଲେ।
23 There at Beth-shemesh, Jehoash king of Israel captured Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz. Then Jehoash brought him to Jerusalem and broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the Ephraim Gate to the Corner Gate—a section of four hundred cubits.
ଆଉ, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ଯୋୟାଶ୍ ବେଥ୍-ଶେମଶରେ ଯିହୋୟାହସ୍ଙ୍କର ପୌତ୍ର, ଯୋୟାଶ୍ଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର, ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ଅମତ୍ସୀୟଙ୍କୁ ଧରି ଯିରୂଶାଲମକୁ ଆଣିଲେ ଓ ଇଫ୍ରୟିମର ନଗର-ଦ୍ୱାରଠାରୁ କୋଣର ଦ୍ୱାର ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଯିରୂଶାଲମର ଚାରି ଶହ ହାତ ପ୍ରାଚୀର ଭାଙ୍ଗି ପକାଇଲେ।
24 He took all the gold and silver and all the articles found in the house of God with Obed-edom and in the treasuries of the royal palace, as well as some hostages. Then he returned to Samaria.
ପୁଣି, ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଗୃହରେ ଓବେଦ୍-ଇଦୋମର ଅଧୀନରେ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ସକଳ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଓ ରୌପ୍ୟ ଓ ସକଳ ପାତ୍ର ଓ ରାଜଗୃହର ଧନ, ମଧ୍ୟ ବନ୍ଧକ ଥିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ନେଇ ଶମରୀୟାକୁ ଫେରିଗଲେ।
25 Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah lived for fifteen years after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel.
ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ଯିହୋୟାହସ୍ଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଯୋୟାଶ୍ଙ୍କର ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ଯୋୟାଶ୍ଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଅମତ୍ସୀୟ ପନ୍ଦର ବର୍ଷ ବଞ୍ଚିଲେ।
26 As for the rest of the acts of Amaziah, from beginning to end, are they not written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel?
ଏହି ଅମତ୍ସୀୟଙ୍କର ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ କ୍ରିୟାର ଆଦ୍ୟନ୍ତ ବୃତ୍ତାନ୍ତ କʼଣ ଯିହୁଦାର ଓ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କ ଇତିହାସ ପୁସ୍ତକରେ ଲେଖା ନାହିଁ?
27 From the time that Amaziah turned from following the LORD, a conspiracy was formed against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish. But men were sent after him to Lachish, and they killed him there.
ଅମତ୍ସୀୟ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଅନୁଗମନରୁ ବିମୁଖ ହେବା ସମୟଠାରୁ ଲୋକମାନେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରେ ତାଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଚକ୍ରାନ୍ତ କଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ସେ ଲାଖୀଶ୍କୁ ପଳାଇଲେ; ମାତ୍ର ସେମାନେ ତାଙ୍କ ପଛେ ଲାଖୀଶ୍କୁ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ ସେଠାରେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କଲେ।
28 They carried him back on horses and buried him with his fathers in the City of Judah.
ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ଅଶ୍ୱମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଆଣି ଯିହୁଦା-ନଗରରେ ତାଙ୍କର ପିତୃଗଣ ସହିତ ତାଙ୍କୁ କବର ଦେଲେ।
