2 Chronicles 24
1 Joash was seven years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem forty years. His mother’s name was Zibiah; she was from Beersheba.
௧யோவாஸ் ராஜாவாகிறபோது ஏழு வயதாயிருந்து, நாற்பது வருடங்கள் எருசலேமில் ஆட்சிசெய்தான்; பெயெர்செபா பட்டணத்தாளான அவன் தாயின் பெயர் சிபியாள்.
2 And Joash did what was right in the eyes of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest.
௨ஆசாரியனாகிய யோய்தாவின் நாட்களெல்லாம் யோவாஸ் யெகோவாவின் பார்வைக்கு செம்மையானதைச் செய்தான்.
3 Jehoiada took for himself two wives, and he had sons and daughters.
௩அவனுக்கு யோய்தா இரண்டு பெண்களைத் திருமணம் செய்துகொடுத்தான்; அவர்களால் மகன்களையும் மகள்களையும் பெற்றான்.
4 Some time later, Joash set his heart on repairing the house of the LORD.
௪அதற்குப்பின்பு யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்தைப் புதுப்பிக்க யோவாஸ் விருப்பம்கொண்டான்.
5 So he gathered the priests and Levites and said, “Go out to the cities of Judah and collect the money due annually from all Israel, to repair the house of your God. Do it quickly.” The Levites, however, did not make haste.
௫அவன் ஆசாரியர்களையும் லேவியர்களையும் கூடிவரச்செய்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் யூதா பட்டணங்களுக்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், உங்கள் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தை வருடந்தோரும் பழுதுபார்க்கிறதற்கு, இஸ்ரவேலெங்கும் பணம் சேகரியுங்கள்; இந்தக் காரியத்தைத் தாமதமில்லாமல் செய்யுங்கள் என்றான்; ஆனாலும் லேவியர்கள் தாமதம்செய்தார்கள்.
6 So the king called Jehoiada the high priest and said, “Why have you not required the Levites to bring from Judah and Jerusalem the tax imposed by Moses the servant of the LORD and by the assembly of Israel for the Tent of the Testimony?”
௬அப்பொழுது ராஜா, யோய்தா என்னும் தலைவனை வரவழைத்து: சாட்சியின் கூடாரத்திற்குக் கொடுக்க, யெகோவாவின் தாசனாகிய மோசே கட்டளையிட்ட வரியை யூதாவினிடத்திலும், எருசலேமியரிடத்திலும், இஸ்ரவேல் சபையாரிடத்திலும் வாங்கி வருகிறதற்கு, லேவியர்களை நீர் விசாரிக்காமல் போனதென்ன?
7 For the sons of that wicked woman Athaliah had broken into the house of God and had even used the sacred objects of the house of the LORD for the Baals.
௭அந்தப் பொல்லாத பெண்ணாகிய அத்தாலியாளுடைய மக்கள், தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தை வலுக்கட்டாயமாகத் திறந்து, யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்திலுள்ள பிரதிஷ்டை செய்யப்பட்டவைகளையெல்லாம் பாகால்களுக்காக செலவு செய்துவிட்டார்களே என்றான்.
8 At the king’s command a chest was made and placed outside, at the gate of the house of the LORD.
௮அப்பொழுது ராஜாவின் சொற்படி ஒரு பெட்டியை உண்டாக்கி, அதைக் யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலய வாசலுக்கு வெளியே வைத்து,
9 And a proclamation was issued in Judah and Jerusalem that they were to bring to the LORD the tax imposed by Moses the servant of God on Israel in the wilderness.
௯யெகோவாவின் தாசனாகிய மோசே வனாந்திரத்தில் இஸ்ரவேலுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட வரியைக் யெகோவாவுக்குக் கொண்டுவாருங்கள் என்று யூதாவிலும் எருசலேமிலும் அறிவிப்புக் கொடுத்தார்கள்.
10 All the officers and all the people rejoiced and brought their contributions, and they dropped them in the chest until it was full.
௧0அப்பொழுது எல்லாப் பிரபுக்களும் எல்லா மக்களும் சந்தோஷமாகக் கொண்டுவந்து பெட்டி நிறைய அதிலே போட்டார்கள்.
11 Whenever the chest was brought by the Levites to the king’s overseers and they saw that there was a large amount of money, the royal scribe and the officer of the high priest would come and empty the chest and carry it back to its place. They did this daily and gathered the money in abundance.
௧௧அதிக பணம் உண்டென்று கண்டு, லேவியர்கள் கையால் அந்தப் பெட்டி ராஜாவின் விசாரிப்புக்காரர்கள் அருகில் கொண்டுவரப்படும்போது, ராஜாவின் அதிகாரியும் பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய உதவியாளனும் வந்து, பெட்டியிலிருக்கிறதைக் கொட்டியெடுத்து, அதைத் திரும்ப அதின் இடத்திலே வைப்பார்கள்; இப்படி ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் செய்து மிகுந்த பணத்தைச் சேர்த்தார்கள்.
12 Then the king and Jehoiada would give the money to those who supervised the labor on the house of the LORD to hire stonecutters and carpenters to restore the house of the LORD, as well as workers in iron and bronze to repair the house of the LORD.
௧௨அதை ராஜாவும் யோய்தாவும் யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்தின் வேலையைச் செய்யும் ஊழியக்காரர்கள் கையிலே கொடுத்தார்கள்; அதனால் அவர்கள் யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்தைப் புதுப்பிக்கும்படி சிற்பிகளையும், தச்சரையும், யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்தைப் பழுதுபார்க்கும்படி கொல்லர்களையும் கம்மாளர்களையும் கூலிக்கு அமர்த்திக்கொண்டார்கள்.
13 So the workmen labored, and in their hands the repair work progressed. They restored the house of God according to its specifications, and they reinforced it.
௧௩அப்படி வேலையை செய்கிறவர்கள் தங்கள் கைகளினாலே வேலையைச் செய்து, தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தை அதின் முந்தின நிலைமைக்குக் கொண்டுவந்து அதைப் பலப்படுத்தினார்கள்.
14 When they were finished, they brought the rest of the money to the king and Jehoiada to make with it the articles for the house of the LORD—utensils for the service and for the burnt offerings, dishes, and other objects of gold and silver. Throughout the days of Jehoiada, burnt offerings were presented regularly in the house of the LORD.
௧௪அதை முடித்தபின்பு, மீதமிருந்த பணத்தை ராஜாவுக்கும் யோய்தாவுக்கும் முன்பாகக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; அந்தப் பணத்தைக் கொண்டு யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்தில் செய்யப்படும் பணிமுட்டுகளையும், ஆராதனை பலி முதலியவைகளுக்கு வேண்டிய பணிமுட்டுகளையும், கலசங்களையும், பொற்பாத்திரங்களையும், வெள்ளிப்பாத்திரங்களையும் செய்தான்; யோய்தாவின் நாட்களெல்லாம் அனுதினமும் யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்திலே சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளைச் செலுத்திவந்தார்கள்.
15 When Jehoiada was old and full of years, he died at the age of 130.
௧௫யோய்தா நீண்டஆயுள் உள்ளவனாக முதிர்வயதில் இறந்தான்; அவன் இறக்கும்போது நூற்றுமுப்பது வயதாயிருந்தான்.
16 And Jehoiada was buried with the kings in the City of David, because he had done what was good in Israel for God and His temple.
௧௬அவன் தேவனுக்காகவும் அவருடைய ஆலயத்திற்காகவும் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு நன்மை செய்ததால், அவனை தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் ராஜாக்களுக்கு அருகில் அடக்கம்செய்தார்கள்.
17 After the death of Jehoiada, however, the officials of Judah came and paid homage to the king, and he listened to them.
௧௭யோய்தா இறந்தபின்பு யூதாவின் பிரபுக்கள் வந்து, ராஜாவைப் பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்; அப்பொழுது ராஜா அவர்கள் சொல்வதைக் கவனித்தான்
18 They abandoned the house of the LORD, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherah poles and idols. So wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this guilt of theirs.
௧௮அப்படியே அவர்கள் தங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்தை விட்டுவிட்டு, தோப்பு விக்கிரகங்களையும் சிலைகளையும் வணங்கினார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் செய்த இந்தக் குற்றத்தினால் யூதாவின்மேலும் எருசலேமின்மேலும் கடுங்கோபம் மூண்டது.
19 Nevertheless, the LORD sent prophets to bring the people back to Him and to testify against them; but they would not listen.
௧௯அவர்களைத் தம்மிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பச்செய்ய யெகோவா அவர்களிடத்திலே தீர்க்கதரிசிகளை அனுப்பினார்; அவர்கள் மக்களைக் கடுமையாகக் கடிந்து கொண்டார்கள்; ஆனாலும் மக்கள் அவர்களை அசட்டைசெய்தார்கள்.
20 Then the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah son of Jehoiada the priest, who stood up before the people and said to them, “This is what God says: ‘Why do you transgress the commandments of the LORD so that you cannot prosper? Because you have forsaken the LORD, He has forsaken you.’”
௨0அப்பொழுது தேவனுடைய ஆவி ஆசாரியனாகிய யோய்தாவின் மகனான சகரியாவின்மேல் இறங்கினதால், அவன் மக்களுக்கு எதிரே நின்று: நீங்கள் யெகோவாவுடைய கற்பனைகளை மீறுகிறது என்ன? இதனால் நீங்கள் செழிப்படையமாட்டீர்கள் என்று தேவன் சொல்லுகிறார்; நீங்கள் யெகோவாவை விட்டுவிட்டதால் அவர் உங்களைக் கைவிடுவார் என்றான்.
21 But they conspired against Zechariah, and by order of the king, they stoned him in the courtyard of the house of the LORD.
௨௧அதனால் அவர்கள் அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கட்டுப்பாடுசெய்து, யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயப்பிராகாரத்தில் ராஜாவினுடைய கட்டளையின்படி அவனைக் கல்லெறிந்து கொன்றார்கள்.
22 Thus King Joash failed to remember the kindness that Zechariah’s father Jehoiada had extended to him. Instead, Joash killed Jehoiada’s son. As he lay dying, Zechariah said, “May the LORD see this and call you to account.”
௨௨அப்படியே அவனுடைய தகப்பனாகிய யோய்தா, தனக்கு செய்த தயவை ராஜாவாகிய யோவாஸ் நினைக்காமல் அவனுடைய மகனைக் கொன்றுபோட்டான்; இவன் சாகும்போது: யெகோவா அதைப் பார்ப்பார், அதைக் கேட்பார் என்றான்.
23 In the spring, the army of Aram went to war against Joash. They entered Judah and Jerusalem and destroyed all the leaders of the people, and they sent all the plunder to their king in Damascus.
௨௩அடுத்த வருடத்திலே சீரியாவின் படைகள் அவனுக்கு விரோதமாக யூதாவிலும் எருசலேமிலும் வந்து, மக்களின் பிரபுக்களையெல்லாம் அழித்து, கொள்ளையிட்ட அவர்கள் உடைமைகளையெல்லாம் தமஸ்குவின் ராஜாவுக்கு அனுப்பினார்கள்.
24 Although the Aramean army had come with only a few men, the LORD delivered into their hand a very great army. Because Judah had forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers, judgment was executed on Joash.
௨௪சீரியாவின் படை சிறுகூட்டமாக வந்திருந்தாலும், அவர்கள் தங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை விட்டுவிட்டதால், யெகோவா மகா பெரிய படையை அவர்கள் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்; அவர்கள் யோவாசுக்கு தண்டனை செய்தார்கள்.
25 And when the Arameans had withdrawn, they left Joash severely wounded. His own servants conspired against him for shedding the blood of the son of Jehoiada the priest, and they killed him on his bed. So he died and was buried in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
௨௫அவர்கள் அவனை மகா வேதனைக்குள்ளானவனாக விட்டுப்போனார்கள்; அவர்கள் புறப்பட்டுப்போனபின்பு, அவனுடைய ஊழியக்காரர்கள் ஆசாரியனாகிய யோய்தாவுடைய மகன்களின் இரத்தப்பழியினிமித்தம், அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கட்டுப்பாடுசெய்து, அவன் படுக்கையிலே அவனைக் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள்; செத்துப்போன அவனை தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் அடக்கம்செய்தார்கள்; ஆனாலும் ராஜாக்களின் கல்லறைகளில் அவனை வைக்கவில்லை.
26 Those who conspired against Joash were Zabad son of Shimeath the Ammonitess and Jehozabad son of Shimrith the Moabitess.
௨௬அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கட்டுப்பாடு செய்தவர்கள், அம்மோனிய பெண்ணான சிமியாத்தின் மகனாகிய சாபாத்தும், மோவாபியப் பெண்ணான சிமிரீத்தின் மகனாகிய யோசபாத்துமே.
27 The accounts of the sons of Joash, as well as the many pronouncements about him and about the restoration of the house of God, are indeed written in the Treatise of the Book of the Kings. And his son Amaziah reigned in his place.
௨௭அவன் மகன்களைக்குறித்தும், அவன்மேல் சுமந்த பெரிய பாரத்தைக்குறித்தும், தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தை அவன் பலப்படுத்தினதைக்குறித்தும், ராஜாக்களின் புத்தகமான சரித்திரத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; அவன் மகனாகிய அமத்சியா அவனுடைய இடத்திலே ராஜாவானான்.
