2 Chronicles 22
1 Then the people of Jerusalem made Ahaziah, the youngest son of Jehoram, king in his place, since the raiders who had come into the camp with the Arabs had killed all the older sons. So Ahaziah son of Jehoram became king of Judah.
Y los moradores de Jerusalem hicieron rey a Ocozías su hijo menor en su lugar: porque el ejército que había venido con los Árabes en el campo había muerto todos los mayores: por lo cual reinó Ocozías, hijo de Joram rey de Judá.
2 Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem one year. His mother’s name was Athaliah, the granddaughter of Omri.
Cuando Ocozías comenzó a reinar era de cuarenta y dos años, y reinó un año en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fue Atalía, hija de Amrí.
3 Ahaziah also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor in wickedness.
Este también anduvo en los caminos de la casa de Acab; porque su madre le aconsejaba a hacer impíamente.
4 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, as the house of Ahab had done, for to his destruction they were his counselors after the death of his father.
E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, como la casa de Acab; porque después de la muerte de su padre ellos le aconsejaron para su perdición.
5 Ahaziah also followed their counsel and went with Joram son of Ahab king of Israel to fight against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth-gilead. But the Arameans wounded Joram;
Y él anduvo en los consejos de ellos, y fue a la guerra con Joram, hijo de Acab, rey de Israel, contra Hazael rey de Siria, a Ramot de Galaad, donde los Siros hirieron a Joram.
6 so he returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds they had inflicted on him at Ramah when he fought against Hazael king of Aram. Then Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to Jezreel to visit Joram son of Ahab, because Joram had been wounded.
Y volvió para curarse a Jezrael de las heridas que tenía, que le habían dado en Rama peleando con Hazael rey de Siria. Y descendió Azarías, hijo de Joram, rey de Judá, a visitar a Joram, hijo de Acab, en Jezrael, porque allí estaba enfermo.
7 Ahaziah’s downfall came from God when he went to visit Joram. When Ahaziah arrived, he went out with Joram to meet Jehu son of Nimshi, whom the LORD had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.
Y esto empero venía de Dios, para que Ocozías fuese hollado viniendo a Joram: porque siendo venido, salió con Joram a encontrarse con Jehú, hijo de Namsí, al cual Jehová había ungido para que talase la casa de Acab.
8 So while Jehu was executing judgment on the house of Ahab, he found the rulers of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah’s brothers who were serving Ahaziah, and he killed them.
Y fue, qué, haciendo juicio Jehú con la casa de Acab, halló a los príncipes de Judá, y a los hijos de los hermanos de Ocozías, que servían a Ocozías, y los mató.
9 Then Jehu looked for Ahaziah, and Jehu’s soldiers captured him while he was hiding in Samaria. So Ahaziah was brought to Jehu and put to death. They buried him, for they said, “He is the grandson of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart.” So no one was left from the house of Ahaziah with the strength to rule the kingdom.
Y buscando a Ocozías, el cual se había escondido en Samaria, le tomaron, y le trajeron a Jehú; y le mataron, y le sepultaron; porque dijeron: Es hijo de Josafat, el cual buscó a Jehová de todo su corazón. Y la casa de Ocozías no tenía fuerzas para poder retener el reino.
10 When Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she proceeded to annihilate all the royal heirs of the house of Judah.
Entonces Atalía, madre de Ocozías, viendo que su hijo era muerto, levantóse, y destruyó toda la simiente real de la casa de Judá:
11 But Jehoshabeath daughter of King Jehoram took Joash son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the sons of the king who were being murdered, and she put him and his nurse in a bedroom. Because Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram and the wife of Jehoiada the priest, was Ahaziah’s sister, she hid Joash from Athaliah so that she could not kill him.
Y Josabet, hija del rey, tomó a Joas, hijo de Ocozías, y hurtóle de entre los hijos del rey que mataban, y guardóle a él y a su ama en la cámara de los lechos: y así le escondió Josabet, hija del rey Joram, (mujer de Joiada el sacerdote, porque ella era hermana de Ocozías, ) de delante de Atalía, y no le mataron.
12 And Joash remained hidden with them in the house of God for six years while Athaliah ruled the land.
Y estuvo con ellos escondido en la casa de Dios seis años. Y Atalía reinaba en la tierra.
