< 2 Chronicles 14 >
1 Then Abijah rested with his fathers and was buried in the City of David. And his son Asa reigned in his place, and in his days the land was at peace for ten years.
Ɛberɛ a Abia wuiɛ no, wɔsiee no wɔ Dawid kurom. Ne babarima Asa na ɔdii nʼadeɛ sɛ ɔhene. Asomdwoeɛ baa asase no so mfeɛ edu,
2 And Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God.
ɛfiri sɛ, Asa yɛɛ deɛ ɛfata na ɛyɛ wɔ Awurade, ne Onyankopɔn, ani so.
3 He removed the foreign altars and high places, shattered the sacred pillars, and chopped down the Asherah poles.
Ɔtutuu abosonsomfoɔ afɔrebukyia ne wɔn abosonnan nyinaa guiɛ. Ɔdwirii wɔn afadum, twitwaa Asera afɔrebukyia nyinaa.
4 He commanded the people of Judah to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, and to observe the law and the commandments.
Ɔhyɛɛ ɔmanfoɔ a wɔwɔ Yuda sɛ, wɔnhwehwɛ Awurade wɔn agyanom Onyankopɔn na wɔnni ne mmara ne nʼahyɛdeɛ nyinaa so.
5 He also removed the high places and incense altars from all the cities of Judah, and under him the kingdom was at peace.
Asa sane bubuu abosonnan ne nnuhwam afɔrebukyia firii Yuda nkuro nyinaa mu. Ɛno enti, wɔnyaa asomdwoeɛ wɔ Asa ahennie mu.
6 Because the land was at peace, Asa built fortified cities in Judah. In those days no one made war with him, because the LORD had given him rest.
Saa asomdwoeɛ mfeɛ no mu no, ɔtumi siesiee banbɔ nkuropɔn a ɛwɔ Yudaman mu nyinaa. Obiara anyɛ nʼadwene sɛ ɔbɛko atia no saa ɛberɛ yi, ɛfiri sɛ, na Awurade rema no ahomegyeɛ wɔ nʼatamfoɔ nsam.
7 So he said to the people of Judah, “Let us build these cities and surround them with walls and towers, with doors and bars. The land is still ours because we have sought the LORD our God. We have sought Him and He has given us rest on every side.” So they built and prospered.
Asa ka kyerɛɛ Yudafoɔ sɛ, “Momma yɛnkyekyere nkuro, na yɛntwa afasuo mfa ho, mfa mmɔ ho ban. Yɛbɛyɛ abantenten, asisi apono, ayɛ nnadeban nso. Asase no yɛ yɛn dea, ɛfiri sɛ, yɛbisaa Awurade yɛn Onyankopɔn, na wama yɛn ahomegyeɛ wɔ yɛn atamfoɔ nsam.” Enti, wɔkɔɔ so yɛɛ saa nnwuma yi de baa awieeɛ.
8 Asa had an army of 300,000 men from Judah bearing large shields and spears, and 280,000 men from Benjamin bearing small shields and drawing the bow. All these were mighty men of valor.
Na ɔhene Asa wɔ akofoɔ ɔpehasa a wɔfiri Yuda abusuakuo mu a wɔwɔ akokyɛm ne mpea akɛseɛ. Afei, na ɔwɔ akofoɔ ɔpehanu aduɔwɔtwe a wɔfiri Benyamin abusua mu a wɔkurakura akokyɛm ne agyan nketewa. Na akofoɔ akokoɔdurufoɔ wɔ saa akodɔm mmienu yi mu.
9 Then Zerah the Cushite came against them with an army of 1,000,000 men and 300 chariots, and they advanced as far as Mareshah.
Ɛberɛ bi, Etiopiani bi a wɔfrɛ no Serah de akodɔm ɔpepem baako ne nteaseɛnam ahasa, kɔto hyɛɛ Yuda so. Wɔkɔ kɔduruu Maresa kuropɔn mu.
10 So Asa marched out against him and lined up in battle formation in the Valley of Zephathah near Mareshah.
Asa nso boaa nʼakodɔm ano ne wɔn kɔkoo wɔ Sefata bɔnhwa mu a ɛbɛn Maresa.
11 Then Asa cried out to the LORD his God: “O LORD, there is no one besides You to help the powerless against the mighty. Help us, O LORD our God, for we rely on You, and in Your name we have come against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God. Do not let a mere mortal prevail against You.”
Asa teaam, frɛɛ Awurade ne Onyankopɔn sɛ, “Ao Awurade, wo nko ara na wobɛtumi aboa deɛ ɔyɛ mmrɛ na watumi ako atia ɔhoɔdenfoɔ! Boa yɛn, Ao, Awurade, yɛn Onyankopɔn, ɛfiri sɛ, wo nko ara ne yɛn anidasoɔ. Wo din mu na yɛrehyia ɛdɔm kɛseɛ yi. Ao, Awurade, woyɛ yɛn Onyankopɔn, na mma ɛkwan mma nnipa teta nnsɔre ntia wo!”
12 So the LORD struck down the Cushites before Asa and Judah, and the Cushites fled.
Na Awurade dii Etiopiafoɔ no so nkonim wɔ Asa ne Yuda akodɔm no anim, na atamfoɔ no dwaneeɛ.
13 Then Asa and his army pursued them as far as Gerar. The Cushites fell and could not recover, for they were crushed before the LORD and His army. So the people of Judah carried off a great amount of plunder
Asa ne nʼakodɔm taa wɔn ara kɔsii Gerar, maa Etiopiafoɔ no bebree totɔeɛ a wɔantumi ammoa wɔn ho ano. Awurade ne nʼakodɔm dwerɛɛ wɔn, na Yuda akodɔm no nyaa afodeɛ bebree kɔeɛ.
14 and attacked all the cities around Gerar, because the terror of the LORD had fallen upon them. They plundered all the cities, since there was much plunder there.
Ɛberɛ a wɔwɔ Gerar no, wɔto hyɛɛ nkuro a ɛwɔ beaeɛ hɔ nyinaa so, na Awurade ho huboa tɔɔ nnipa a wɔwɔ hɔ no so. Awieeɛ no, wɔnyaa afodeɛ bebree wɔ saa nkuro no so nso.
15 They also attacked the tents of the herdsmen and carried off many sheep and camels. Then they returned to Jerusalem.
Wɔsane to hyɛɛ mmoahwɛfoɔ atenaeɛ, kyekyeree nnwan ne nyoma, ansa na wɔresane akɔ Yerusalem.
