< 2 Chronicles 14 >

1 Then Abijah rested with his fathers and was buried in the City of David. And his son Asa reigned in his place, and in his days the land was at peace for ten years.
Abiya ne yeebakira wamu ne bajjajjaabe n’aziikibwa mu kibuga kya Dawudi. Asa mutabani we n’amusikira, era ku mulembe gwe ensi n’eba n’emirembe okumala emyaka kkumi.
2 And Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God.
Asa n’akola ebyali ebirungi nga bituufu mu maaso ga Mukama Katonda we.
3 He removed the foreign altars and high places, shattered the sacred pillars, and chopped down the Asherah poles.
N’aggyawo ebyoto eby’abannamawanga n’ebifo ebigulumivu, era n’amenyaamenya empagi, n’ebifaananyi bya Asera n’abitemaatema.
4 He commanded the people of Judah to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, and to observe the law and the commandments.
N’alagira Yuda okunoonya Mukama Katonda wa bajjajjaabe, era n’okukuuma amateeka ge n’ebiragiro bye.
5 He also removed the high places and incense altars from all the cities of Judah, and under him the kingdom was at peace.
Era n’aggyawo ebifo ebigulumivu n’ebyoto eby’obubaane mu bibuga byonna ebya Yuda, n’obwakabaka ne buba n’emirembe mu bufuzi bwe.
6 Because the land was at peace, Asa built fortified cities in Judah. In those days no one made war with him, because the LORD had given him rest.
N’azimba ebibuga ebiriko bbugwe mu Yuda, era ne wataba n’omu eyayaŋŋanga okulwana naye, kubanga Mukama yamuwa okuwummula ku njuyi zonna.
7 So he said to the people of Judah, “Let us build these cities and surround them with walls and towers, with doors and bars. The land is still ours because we have sought the LORD our God. We have sought Him and He has given us rest on every side.” So they built and prospered.
N’agamba Yuda nti, “Tuzimbe ebibuga bino, tubiteekeko bbugwe, ne wankaaki n’emitayimbwa. Ensi ekyali yaffe, kubanga tunoonyezza Mukama Katonda waffe; tumunoonyezza, n’atuwa emirembe ku buli luuyi.” Ne bazimba era ne bagaggawala.
8 Asa had an army of 300,000 men from Judah bearing large shields and spears, and 280,000 men from Benjamin bearing small shields and drawing the bow. All these were mighty men of valor.
Asa yalina eggye nga lya basajja emitwalo amakumi asatu okuva mu Yuda, nga balina engabo ennene n’amafumu, n’abalala emitwalo amakumi abiri mu munaana abaava mu Benyamini nga balina engabo entono n’obusaale, era bonna nga basajja bazira.
9 Then Zerah the Cushite came against them with an army of 1,000,000 men and 300 chariots, and they advanced as far as Mareshah.
Olunaku lumu, Zeera Omwesiyopya n’abalumba ng’alina eggye lya basajja akakadde kamu, n’amagaali ebikumi bisatu, n’atuuka n’e Malesa.
10 So Asa marched out against him and lined up in battle formation in the Valley of Zephathah near Mareshah.
Asa n’agenda okumutabaala, buli omu ku bo n’asimba ennyiriri ez’entalo mu kiwonvu Zefasa e Malesa.
11 Then Asa cried out to the LORD his God: “O LORD, there is no one besides You to help the powerless against the mighty. Help us, O LORD our God, for we rely on You, and in Your name we have come against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God. Do not let a mere mortal prevail against You.”
Awo Asa n’akoowoola Mukama Katonda we ng’agamba nti, “Mukama, tewali akwenkana mu kuyamba abanafu, nga balumbiddwa ab’amaanyi. Tuyambe Ayi Mukama Katonda waffe, kubanga twesize ggwe, era mu linnya lyo tuzze okutabaala eggye lino eddene. Ayi Mukama, oli Katonda waffe, toganya muntu yenna okutuwangula.”
12 So the LORD struck down the Cushites before Asa and Judah, and the Cushites fled.
Awo Mukama n’akubira Abaesiyopiya mu maaso ga Asa ne mu maaso ga Yuda, Abaesiyopiya ne badduka.
13 Then Asa and his army pursued them as far as Gerar. The Cushites fell and could not recover, for they were crushed before the LORD and His army. So the people of Judah carried off a great amount of plunder
Asa n’eggye lye ne babagoba okutuuka e Gerali, era bangi ku Baesiyopya ne bagwa, ne wataba n’omu ku bo alama, kubanga eggye lya Mukama lyabazikiriza. Abasajja aba Yuda ne beetikka omunyago mungi.
14 and attacked all the cities around Gerar, because the terror of the LORD had fallen upon them. They plundered all the cities, since there was much plunder there.
Ne bazikiriza ebibuga byonna ebyali byetoolodde Gerali, kubanga entiisa ya Mukama yabagwira. Ne banyaga ebyalo byonna, kubanga byalimu omunyago mungi.
15 They also attacked the tents of the herdsmen and carried off many sheep and camels. Then they returned to Jerusalem.
Ne balumba n’ebibinja by’abalaalo, ne batwala ente, n’endiga, n’embuzi, n’eŋŋamira nnyingi nnyo, ne balyoka baddayo e Yerusaalemi.
