< 2 Chronicles 13 >
1 In the eighteenth year of Jeroboam’s reign, Abijah became king of Judah,
E higa mar apar gaboro mar loch Jeroboam, Abija nobedo ruodh Juda,
2 and he reigned in Jerusalem three years. His mother’s name was Micaiah daughter of Uriel; she was from Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
kendo norito piny kuom higni adek kodak Jerusalem. Min mare ne nyinge Maaka ma nyar Uriel ja-Gibea. Ne nitiere lweny e kind Abija kod Jeroboam.
3 Abijah went into battle with an army of 400,000 chosen men, while Jeroboam drew up in formation against him with 800,000 chosen and mighty men of valor.
Abija nodhi e kedo ka en gi jolweny molony alufu mia angʼwen to Jeroboam nochano jolweny moyier marateke alufu mia aboro.
4 Then Abijah stood on Mount Zemaraim in the hill country of Ephraim and said, “Hear me, O Jeroboam and all Israel!
Abija nochungo e Got Zemaraim e piny gode mag Efraim kowacho niya, “Winjauru in Jeroboam kod jo-Israel duto!
5 Do you not know that the LORD, the God of Israel, has given the kingship of Israel to David and his descendants forever by a covenant of salt?
Donge ungʼeyo ni Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasach jo-Israel nomiyo Daudi kod nyikwaye loch Israel nyaka chiengʼ kotimo kodgi singruok ma ok tow?
6 Yet Jeroboam son of Nebat, a servant of Solomon son of David, rose up and rebelled against his master.
To kata obedo kamano Jeroboam wuod Nebat jatelo mar Solomon wuod Daudi nongʼanyo ni ruodhe.
7 Then worthless and wicked men gathered around him to resist Rehoboam son of Solomon when he was young, inexperienced, and unable to resist them.
Ji moko ma timbegi mono noriwore kode mi negikwedo Rehoboam wuod Solomon kane pod en rawera mayom yom kendo ne ok otek monyalo sirogi.
8 And now you think you can resist the kingdom of the LORD, which is in the hands of David’s descendants. You are indeed a vast army, and you have with you the golden calves that Jeroboam made for you as gods.
“To koro sani ichano mondo itamri loch Jehova Nyasaye mantiere e lwet nyikwa Daudi. Adieri un kod jolweny mangʼeny kendo un kod nyiroye mag dhahabu mane Jeroboam oloso mondo obed nyisecheu.
9 But did you not drive out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites? And did you not make priests for yourselves as do the peoples of other lands? Now whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams can become a priest of things that are not gods.
To donge nuriembo jodolo mag Jehova Nyasaye ma yawuot Harun kaachiel gi jo-Lawi kendo ne uyiero jodolo magu kaka jopinje mamoko timo? Ngʼato angʼata mobiro opwodhore gi nyarwath kod imbe abiriyo nyalo bedo jadolo mar gik ma ok nyiseche.
10 But as for us, the LORD is our God. We have not forsaken Him; the priests who minister to the LORD are sons of Aaron, and the Levites attend to their duties.
“Wan to Jehova Nyasaye en Nyasachwa kendo ok waseweye ngangʼ. Jodolo matiyone Jehova Nyasaye gin yawuot Harun kendo jo-Lawi konyogi e tijno.
11 Every morning and every evening they present burnt offerings and fragrant incense to the LORD. They set out the rows of showbread on the ceremonially clean table, and every evening they light the lamps of the gold lampstand. We are carrying out the requirements of the LORD our God, while you have forsaken Him.
Okinyi godhiambo gichiwone Jehova Nyasaye misengini miwangʼo pep kod gik mangʼwe ngʼar kendo giketo makati e mesa mopwodhi kendo gimoko teche moket e rachungi taya mar dhahabu godhiambo pile ka pile. Wan warito chike Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasachwa, un to useweye.
12 Now behold, God Himself is with us as our head, and His priests with their trumpets sound the battle call against you. O children of Israel, do not fight against the LORD, the God of your fathers, for you will not succeed.”
Nyasaye ni kodwa; en e jatendwa. Jodolo mage biro goyo turumbete miluong ji mondo oked kodu. Jo-Israel, kik uked gi Jehova Nyasaye, ma Nyasach kwereu nikech ok ubiloyo.”
13 Now Jeroboam had sent troops around to ambush from the rear, so that while he was in front of Judah, the ambush was behind them.
Jeroboam noseoro jolweny mondo oluor e tokgi mondo ni kane en e nyim Juda to jolweny moko mondo omonjgi gi ka tokgi.
14 When Judah turned and discovered that the battle was both before and behind them, they cried out to the LORD. Then the priests blew the trumpets,
Kane jo-Juda olokore moneno nine imonjogi gi ka tokgi kod e nyimgi eka negiywagore ni Jehova Nyasaye. To jodolo bende nogoyo turumbete
15 and the men of Judah raised the battle cry. And when they raised the cry, God routed Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
eka jo-Juda nongʼiyo kendo kane gigiyo kamano Nyasaye nokeyo Jeroboam kaachiel gi jo-Israel duto e nyim Abija kod jo-Juda.
16 So the Israelites fled before Judah, and God delivered them into their hands.
Jo-Israel noringo akeya nono e nyim jo-Juda nikech Nyasaye nochiwogi e lwet jo-Juda.
17 Then Abijah and his people struck them with a mighty blow, and 500,000 chosen men of Israel fell slain.
Abija kod joge nonegogi malich ahinya ma joma nohinyore kuom jo-Israel marateke moyier ne gin ji alufu mia abich.
18 Thus the Israelites were subdued at that time, and the men of Judah prevailed because they relied on the LORD, the God of their fathers.
Kamano e kaka ne olo jo-Israel chiengʼno, jo-Juda nolocho nikech negigeno kuom Jehova Nyasaye, ma Nyasach kweregi.
19 Abijah pursued Jeroboam and captured some cities from him: Bethel, Jeshanah, and Ephron, along with their villages.
Abija nolawo Jeroboam mokawo mieche kaka Bethel gi Jeshana kod Efron kod mier matindo mokiewo kode.
20 Jeroboam did not again recover his power during the days of Abijah, and the LORD struck him down and he died.
Loch Jeroboam ne ok ochako obedo motegno e kinde Abija. Bangʼe Jehova Nyasaye nogoye motho.
21 But Abijah grew strong, married fourteen wives, and became the father of twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.
Loch Abija nomedo gurore motegno. Nokendo mon apar gangʼwen kendo ne en gi yawuowi piero ariyo gariyo kod nyiri apar gauchiel.
22 Now the rest of the acts of Abijah, along with his ways and his words, are written in the Treatise of the Prophet Iddo.
Weche moko mag loch Abija, timbene duto kod gik mane owacho ondiki e kitap Ido janabi.
