1 Timothy 4
1 Now the Spirit expressly states that in later times some will abandon the faith to follow deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons,
Entretanto, o Espírito diz claramente que, nos últimos tempos, alguns abandonarão a sua fé em Deus e irão se voltar para espíritos enganadores e crenças que vêm dos demônios.
2 influenced by the hypocrisy of liars, whose consciences are seared with a hot iron.
Esses mentirosos hipócritas e suas consciências embrutecidas
3 They will prohibit marriage and require abstinence from certain foods that God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
dizem para as pessoas não se casarem e não comerem certos tipos de alimentos feitos por Deus, que deveriam ser aceitos com gratidão por aqueles que creem e que sabem a verdade.
4 For every creation of God is good, and nothing that is received with thanksgiving should be rejected,
Tudo o que é criado por Deus é bom, e nada deveria ser rejeitado e, sim, ser recebido com uma oração, para demonstrar o nosso agradecimento.
5 because it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
Pois tudo isso se torna sagrado por meio da palavra de Deus e pela oração.
6 By pointing out these things to the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished by the words of faith and sound instruction that you have followed.
Se você transmitir esses conselhos aos irmãos e irmãs, então, será um bom servo de Cristo Jesus. Você ganha força ao crer na verdade e no bom ensinamento que tem seguido.
7 But reject irreverent, silly myths. Instead, train yourself for godliness.
Rejeite as histórias antigas cheias de superstições sem fundamento. Garanta que o seu exercício seja espiritual,
8 For physical exercise is of limited value, but godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for the present life and for the one to come.
pois embora o exercício físico seja útil de alguma maneira, o exercício espiritual é muito mais útil. Pois “ele tem promessa para a vida atual e para a vida futura.”
9 This is a trustworthy saying, worthy of full acceptance.
Esse ensinamento é verdadeiro e deve ser aceito por todos.
10 To this end we labor and strive, because we have set our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of everyone, and especially of those who believe.
O motivo de nós trabalharmos e fazermos o melhor que podemos é porque temos colocado nossa esperança no Deus vivo. Ele é o Salvador de todas as pessoas, especialmente daqueles que creem nele.
11 Command and teach these things.
É isso que você deve ensinar. Diga a todas as pessoas para seguirem as suas orientações.
12 Let no one despise your youth, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
Não deixe que ninguém o menospreze por você ser jovem. Seja um exemplo para aqueles que creem em Deus, sendo amoroso, confiável e puro na sua maneira de falar e no tipo de vida que leva.
13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, and to teaching.
Até que eu chegue aí, leia as Sagradas Escrituras para a igreja e incentive a todos por meio do que fala e do que ensina.
14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given you through the prophecy spoken over you at the laying on of the hands of the elders.
Não ignore o dom cheio de graça que lhe foi dado mediante profecia, quando os presbíteros da igreja colocaram as suas mãos sobre a sua cabeça.
15 Be diligent in these matters and absorbed in them, so that your progress will be evident to all.
Pense com muito cuidado a respeito dessas coisas e dedique-se completamente a elas. Assim, todos poderão ver o seu progresso.
16 Pay close attention to your life and to your teaching. Persevere in these things, for by so doing you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
Cuide do que você está fazendo e do que está ensinando. Continue fazendo isso, pois, assim você salvará tanto a você mesmo, bem como a todos os que o escutam.
