1 Timothy 2
1 First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone—
So ermahne ich nun zu allererst zu thun Bitte, Gebet, Fürbitte, Danksagung für alle Menschen,
2 for kings and all those in authority—so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity.
für Könige und alle Große, daß wir ein stilles und ruhiges Leben führen mögen in aller Frömmigkeit und Ehrbarkeit.
3 This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior,
Das ist gut und genehm vor Gott unserem Heilande,
4 who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
der da will, daß alle Menschen gerettet werden und zur Erkenntnis der Wahrheit kommen.
5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
Denn es ist Ein Gott, ebenso Ein Mittler Gottes und der Menschen, der Mensch Christus Jesus,
6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all—the testimony that was given at just the right time.
der sich selbst gegeben hat zum Lösegeld für alle, das Zeugnis zur rechten Zeit,
7 For this reason I was appointed as a preacher, an apostle, and a faithful and true teacher of the Gentiles. I am telling the truth; I am not lying about anything.
wofür ich gesetzt worden bin zum Botschafter und Apostel, ich sage die Wahrheit, ich lüge nicht, als Lehrer der Heiden in Glauben und Wahrheit.
8 Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or dissension.
Mein Wille ist nun: die Männer sollen beten aller Orten, heilige Hände aufhebend, frei von Zorn und Widerspruch.
9 Likewise, I want the women to adorn themselves with respectable apparel, with modesty, and with self-control, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,
Ebenso die Frauen in Sittsamkeit sich schamhaft und maßvoll schmücken, nicht mit Haargeflecht und Gold oder Perlen oder kostbaren Kleidern,
10 but with good deeds, as is proper for women who profess to worship God.
sondern wie es Frauen geziemt, welche sich zur Gottesfurcht bekennen, durch gute Werke.
11 A woman must learn in quietness and full submissiveness.
Eine Frau soll in der Stille lernen in aller Unterwürfigkeit.
12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; she is to remain quiet.
Zu lehren gestatte ich einer Frau nicht, auch nicht über den Mann zu herrschen, sondern sie soll sich stille halten.
13 For Adam was formed first, and then Eve.
Denn Adam ward zuerst geschaffen, danach Eva;
14 And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman who was deceived and fell into transgression.
und nicht Adam ließ sich betrügen, die Frau aber ward betrogen und kam zu Fall;
15 Women, however, will be saved through childbearing, if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.
sie soll aber gerettet werden durch Kindergebären, wenn sie bleiben in Glauben und Liebe und Heiligung und Selbstbeherrschung.
