1 Samuel 5
1 After the Philistines had captured the ark of God, they took it from Ebenezer to Ashdod,
ଏଥିମଧ୍ୟରେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ନେଇ ଏବନ୍-ଏଜରରୁ ଅସ୍ଦୋଦକୁ ଯାଇଥିଲେ।
2 carried it into the temple of Dagon, and set it beside his statue.
ତହିଁ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ନେଇ ଦାଗୋନ୍ ମନ୍ଦିରକୁ ଆଣି ଦାଗୋନ୍ ଦେବତା ନିକଟରେ ରଖିଲେ।
3 When the people of Ashdod got up early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen on his face before the ark of the LORD. So they took Dagon and returned him to his place.
ତହିଁ ପରଦିନ ଅସ୍ଦୋଦୀୟମାନେ ଶୀଘ୍ର ଉଠନ୍ତେ, ଦେଖ, ଦାଗୋନ୍ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ମୁହଁ ମାଡ଼ି ଭୂମିରେ ପଡ଼ିଅଛି। ତେଣୁ ସେମାନେ ଦାଗୋନ୍କୁ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଉଠାଇ ତାହା ସ୍ଥାନରେ ରଖିଲେ।
4 But when they got up early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen on his face before the ark of the LORD, with his head and his hands broken off and lying on the threshold. Only the torso remained.
ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ତହିଁ ଆରଦିନ ପ୍ରଭାତରେ ଶୀଘ୍ର ଉଠନ୍ତେ, ଦେଖ, ଦାଗୋନ୍ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ମୁହଁ ମାଡ଼ି ଭୂମିରେ ପଡ଼ିଅଛି; ପୁଣି, ଦାଗୋନ୍ର ମୁଣ୍ଡ ଓ ହାତର ଦୁଇ ପାପୁଲି କଟା ହୋଇ ଦ୍ୱାରବନ୍ଧ ଉପରେ ପଡ଼ିଅଛି; କେବଳ ତାହାର ମତ୍ସ୍ୟାକାର ବାକି ରହିଅଛି।
5 That is why, to this day, the priests of Dagon and all who enter the temple of Dagon in Ashdod do not step on the threshold.
ଏହେତୁ ଦାଗୋନ୍ର ଯାଜକମାନେ ଅବା ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଦାଗୋନ୍ ମନ୍ଦିରକୁ ଆସନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କେହି ଆଜି ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଅସ୍ଦୋଦସ୍ଥିତ ଦାଗୋନ୍ର ଦ୍ୱାରବନ୍ଧ ମାଡ଼ନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ।
6 Now the hand of the LORD was heavy on the people of Ashdod and its vicinity, ravaging them and afflicting them with tumors.
ମାତ୍ର ଅସ୍ଦୋଦୀୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ଭାରୀ ହେଲା ଓ ସେ ଅସ୍ଦୋଦକୁ ଓ ତହିଁ ସୀମାସ୍ଥିତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅର୍ଶ ରୋଗରେ ଆଘାତ କରି ସଂହାର କଲେ।
7 And when the men of Ashdod saw what was happening, they said, “The ark of the God of Israel must not stay here with us, because His hand is heavy upon us and upon our god Dagon.”
ତହୁଁ ଅସ୍ଦୋଦୀୟ ଲୋକମାନେ ତାହା ଦେଖି କହିଲେ, “ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ରହିବ ନାହିଁ, କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଦେବତା ଦାଗୋନ୍ ଉପରେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ହସ୍ତ ନିଷ୍ଠୁର ହୋଇଅଛି।”
8 So they called together all the rulers of the Philistines and asked, “What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel?” “It must be moved to Gath,” they replied. So they carried away the ark of the God of Israel.
ଏଣୁ ସେମାନେ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସମସ୍ତ ଅଧିପତିଙ୍କୁ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଏକତ୍ର କରି କହିଲେ, “ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ବିଷୟରେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କଅଣ କରିବା?” ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ଉତ୍ତର କଲେ, “ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ଗାଥ୍କୁ ନିଆଯାଉ।” ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ ସେଠାକୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ନେଇଗଲେ।
9 But after they had moved the ark to Gath, the LORD’s hand was also against that city, throwing it into great confusion and afflicting the men of the city, both young and old, with an outbreak of tumors.
ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ତାହା ନେଇଗଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଏପରି ହେଲା ଯେ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ନଗର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଅତି ମହା ବ୍ୟାକୁଳତାଜନକ ହେଲା; ପୁଣି, ସେ ନଗରସ୍ଥ ସାନ ବଡ଼ ଉଭୟଙ୍କୁ ଆଘାତ କଲେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କଠାରେ ଅର୍ଶ ରୋଗ ବାହାରିଲା।
10 So they sent the ark of God to Ekron, but as it arrived, the Ekronites cried out, “They have brought us the ark of the God of Israel in order to kill us and our people!”
ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ ଇକ୍ରୋଣକୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ପଠାଇଲେ। ତହିଁରେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ଇକ୍ରୋଣରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ଇକ୍ରୋଣୀୟମାନେ କ୍ରନ୍ଦନ କରି କହିଲେ, “ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସେମାନେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆଣିଅଛନ୍ତି।”
11 Then the Ekronites assembled all the rulers of the Philistines and said, “Send away the ark of the God of Israel. It must return to its place, so that it will not kill us and our people!” For a deadly confusion had pervaded the city; the hand of God was heavy upon it.
ଏହେତୁ ସେମାନେ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସମସ୍ତ ଅଧିପତିଙ୍କୁ ଏକତ୍ରିତ କରି କହିଲେ, “ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ପଠାଇଦିଅ, ତାହା ସ୍ୱ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଫେରିଯାଉ, ତାହା ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ ନ କରୁ;” କାରଣ ନଗରର ସର୍ବତ୍ର ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁଜନକ ବ୍ୟାକୁଳତା ଜନ୍ମିଥିଲା; ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ସେଠାରେ ଅତି ଭାରୀ ଥିଲା।
12 Those who did not die were afflicted with tumors, and the outcry of the city went up to heaven.
ପୁଣି, ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକମାନେ ମଲେ ନାହିଁ, ସେମାନେ ଅର୍ଶ ରୋଗରେ ପୀଡ଼ିତ ହେଲେ; ଆଉ ନଗରର ଆର୍ତ୍ତନାଦ ଆକାଶକୁ ଉଠିଲା।
