< 1 Samuel 3 >

1 And the boy Samuel ministered to the LORD before Eli. Now in those days the word of the LORD was rare and visions were scarce.
Ary Samoela zaza nanao fanompoam-pivavahana tamin’ i Jehovah teo anatrehan’ i Ely. Ary tamin’ izany andro izany efa nahàlana ny tenin’ i Jehovah: tsy nisy fahitana niseho loatra.
2 And at that time Eli, whose eyesight had grown so dim that he could not see, was lying in his room.
Ary tamin’ izany andro izany, raha nandry tao amin’ ny fandriany Ely (efa pahina ny masony, ka tsy nahita izy),
3 Before the lamp of God had gone out, Samuel was lying down in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was located.
sady tsy mbola maty ny jiron’ Andriamanitra, ary Samoela efa nandry tao amin’ ny tempolin’ i Jehovah, izay nisy ny fiaran’ Andriamanitra,
4 Then the LORD called to Samuel, and he answered, “Here I am.”
dia niantso an’ i Samoela Jehovah, ary izy namaly hoe: Inty aho.
5 He ran to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you have called me.” “I did not call,” Eli replied. “Go back and lie down.” So he went and lay down.
Dia nihazakazaka nankeo amin’ i Ely izy ka nanao hoe: Inty aho, fa niantso ahy ianao. Fa hoy Ely: Tsy niantso aho, andeha mandry ihany. Dia lasa nandry izy.
6 Once again the LORD called, “Samuel!” So Samuel got up, went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you have called me.” “My son, I did not call,” Eli replied. “Go back and lie down.”
Ary Jehovah niantso azy indray hoe: Ry Samoela! Dia nifoha Samoela ka nankao amin’ i Ely ary nanao hoe: Inty aho, fa niantso ahy ianao. Fa hoy izy: Tsy niantso aho, anaka; andeha mandry ihany.
7 Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, because the word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him.
Ary Samoela tsy mbola nahalala an’ i Jehovah, sady tsy mbola nanehoana ny tenin’ i Jehovah izy.
8 Once again, for the third time, the LORD called to Samuel. He got up, went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you have called me.” Then Eli realized that it was the LORD who was calling the boy.
Ary Jehovah niantso an’ i Samoela indray fanintelony. Dia nifoha izy ka nankao amin’ i Ely ary nanao hoe: Inty aho, fa niantso ahy ianao. Dia fantatr’ i Ely fa Jehovah no niantso ny zaza.
9 “Go and lie down,” he said to Samuel, “and if He calls you, say, ‘Speak, LORD, for Your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
Ary hoy Ely tamin’ i Samoela: Andeha mandry ihany; ary raha tàhiny miantso anao Izy, dia valio hoe: Mitenena, Jehovah ô; fa mihaino ny mpanomponao. Dia lasa Samoela nandry tao amin’ ny fandriany.
10 Then the LORD came and stood there, calling as before, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant is listening.”
Ary avy Jehovah, dia nitsangana ka niantso toy ny teo ihany hoe: Ry Samoela, ry Samoela ô! Dia namaly Samoela hoe: Mitenena, fa mihaino ny mpanomponao.
11 Then the LORD said to Samuel, “I am about to do something in Israel at which the ears of all who hear it will tingle.
Ary hoy Jehovah tamin’ i Samoela: Indro, Izaho hanao zavatra eo amin’ ny Isiraely, ka izay rehetra mandre izany, dia hangintsingintsina ny sofiny roa.
12 On that day I will carry out against Eli everything I have spoken about his family, from beginning to end.
Amin’ izany andro izany dia hotanterahiko amin’ i Ely izay zavatra rehetra voalazako ny amin’ ny taranany: hatomboko izany, ka dia hotanterahiko.
13 I told him that I would judge his house forever for the iniquity of which he knows, because his sons blasphemed God and he did not restrain them.
Fa efa nambarako taminy fa hotsaraiko mandrakizay ny taranany noho ny heloka izay fantany, satria ny zanany nahatonga ozona ho an’ ny tenany, nefa tsy nosakanany.
14 Therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli, ‘The iniquity of Eli’s house shall never be atoned for by sacrifice or offering.’”
Koa izany no nianianako ny amin’ ny taranak’ i Ely fa tsy hisy fanatitra hahafaka ny helony mandrakizay.
15 Samuel lay down until the morning; then he opened the doors of the house of the LORD. He was afraid to tell Eli the vision,
Ary nandry Samoela mandra-pahamarain’ ny andro, dia namoha ny varavaran’ ny tranon’ i Jehovah izy. Ary Samoela natahotra hilaza ny fahitana tamin’ i Ely.
16 but Eli called to him and said, “Samuel, my son.” “Here I am,” answered Samuel.
Fa Ely niantso an’ i Samoela ka nanao hoe: Ry Samoela, zanako! Dia hoy izy: Inty aho.
17 “What was the message He gave you?” Eli asked. “Do not hide it from me. May God punish you, and ever so severely, if you hide from me anything He said to you.”
Ary hoy izy: Inona no zavatra nolazain’ i Jehovah taminao? masìna ianao, aza afeninao ahy; hataon’ Andriamanitra aminao anie izany, eny, mihoatra noho izany aza, raha nisy afeninao ahy ny zavatra rehetra nolazainy taminao.
18 So Samuel told him everything and did not hide a thing from him. “He is the LORD,” replied Eli. “Let Him do what is good in His eyes.”
Dia nambaran’ i Samoela azy avokoa ny zavatra rehetra, ka tsy nisy nafeniny azy. Dia hoy Ely: Izy no Jehovah, aoka Izy hanao izay sitraky ny fony.
19 And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and He let none of Samuel’s words fall to the ground.
Ary nitombo Samoela, sady nomba azy Jehovah, ka tsy nisy navelany ho raraka an-tany ny teniny.
20 So all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel was confirmed as a prophet of the LORD.
Ary ny Isiraely rehetra hatrany Dana ka hatrany Beri-sheba nahalala fa efa mpaminanin’ i Jehovah tokoa Samoela.
21 And the LORD continued to appear at Shiloh, because there He revealed Himself to Samuel by His word.
Dia niseho tao Silo indray Jehovah; fa niseho tamin’ i Samoela tao Silo Jehovah tamin’ ny teniny.
