1 Peter 4
1 Therefore, since Christ suffered in His body, arm yourselves with the same resolve, because anyone who has suffered in his body is done with sin.
De modo que, como Jesús sufrió en la carne por nosotros, ustedes mismos Con él mismo pensamiento; tengan la misma determinación de sufrir, pues él que ha sufrido en el cuerpo ha roto con él pecado;
2 Consequently, he does not live out his remaining time on earth for human passions, but for the will of God.
Para que puedan dar el resto de sus vidas en la carne, no a los deseos de los hombres, sino al propósito de Dios.
3 For you have spent enough time in the past carrying out the same desires as the Gentiles: living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and detestable idolatry.
Porque durante bastante tiempo, en tiempos pasados, hemos estado viviendo según el camino de los gentiles, entregados a los deseos de la carne, a la bebida y el banquete y el comportamiento suelto y la adoración impura de las imágenes;
4 Because of this, they consider it strange of you not to plunge with them into the same flood of reckless indiscretion, and they heap abuse on you.
Y ahora se preguntan si ya no irán más con ellos y les extraña y hablan mal de ustedes.
5 But they will have to give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
Sino que tendrán que dar cuenta de sí mismos a aquel que está listo para ser el juez de los vivos y los muertos.
6 That is why the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged as men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
Por esta fue la razón por la cual las buenas nuevas de Jesús fueron dadas aun a los muertos, para que puedan ser juzgados como hombres en la carne, pero vivan delante de Dios en el espíritu.
7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear-minded and sober, so that you can pray.
Pero el fin de todas las cosas está cerca: así que sé serio en tu comportamiento y mantente atento con la oración;
8 Above all, love one another deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
Y sobre todo sean cálidos en su amor mutuo; porque en el amor cubrirá multitud de pecados.
9 Show hospitality to one another without complaining.
Mantenga la casa abierta para todos con un corazón alegre;
10 As good stewards of the manifold grace of God, each of you should use whatever gift he has received to serve one another.
Haciendo distribución entre ustedes de todo lo que se les ha dado, como verdaderos administradores de la multiforme gracia de Dios.
11 If anyone speaks, he should speak as one conveying the words of God. If anyone serves, he should serve with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Si alguien tiene algo que decir, que sea como las palabras de Dios; si alguien tiene el deseo de ser el servidor de los demás, que lo haga con él poder que le da Dios; para que en todas las cosas que hagan, Dios tenga la gloria por medio de Jesucristo, de quien es la gloria y el poder para siempre. 12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial that has come upon you, as though something strange were happening to you.
Queridos hermanos, no se sorprendan, como si fuera algo extraño, si su fe es probada como por fuego,
13 But rejoice that you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed at the revelation of His glory.
Pero estén contentos de que se les dé parte en los sufrimientos de Cristo; para que en la revelación de su gloria se llenen de gran alegría.
14 If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
Si los hombres los insultan por el nombre de Cristo, alégrense; porque el Espíritu de gloria y de Dios descansa sobre ustedes.
15 Indeed, none of you should suffer as a murderer or thief or wrongdoer, or even as a meddler.
Nadie entre ustedes sufra castigo como homicida, o como ladrón, o como malhechor, o por entrometerse en lo ajeno;
16 But if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but glorify God that you bear that name.
Pero si él sufre un castigo como cristiano, eso no es vergüenza para él; déjalo glorificar a Dios por ello.
17 For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who disobey the gospel of God?
Porque ha llegado el momento de juzgar, empezando por la iglesia de Dios; pero si comienza con nosotros, ¿cuál será el final de aquellos que no obedecen el evangelio de Dios?
18 And, “If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”
Y si es difícil incluso para el justo obtener la salvación, ¿qué posibilidades tiene el hombre sin religión o el pecador?
19 So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should entrust their souls to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.
Por esta razón, aquellos que por el propósito de Dios sufren castigo, continúen haciendo el bien y pongan sus almas en las manos seguras de su Creador.
