1 Kings 6
1 In the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites had come out of the land of Egypt, in the month of Ziv, the second month of the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, he began to build the house of the LORD.
El año 480 después de la salida de los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto, en el cuarto año del reinado de Salomón en Israel, el mes de Ziv, que es el mes segundo, aconteció que él comenzó a edificar la Casa de Yavé.
2 The house that King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high.
La Casa que el rey Salomón edificó a Yavé tenía 27 metros de longitud, nueve metros de anchura y 13,5 metros de altura.
3 The portico at the front of the main hall of the temple was twenty cubits long, extending across the width of the temple and projecting out ten cubits in front of the temple.
El patio delante del Lugar Santo de la Casa tenía nueve metros de longitud a todo lo ancho de la Casa, y 4,5 metros de anchura en el frente de la Casa.
4 He also had narrow windows framed high in the temple.
Hizo alrededor de la Casa ventanas con celosías.
5 Against the walls of the temple and the inner sanctuary, Solomon built a chambered structure around the temple, in which he constructed the side rooms.
Construyó galerías alrededor del muro de la Casa, tanto del lugar santo como del Lugar Santísimo, y les hizo cámaras laterales alrededor.
6 The bottom floor was five cubits wide, the middle floor six cubits, and the third floor seven cubits. He also placed offset ledges around the outside of the temple, so that nothing would be inserted into its walls.
La galería inferior tenía 2,25 metros de anchura, la intermedia 2,7 metros de anchura, y la tercera 3,15 metros de anchura, porque hizo reducciones en el lado exterior alrededor de la Casa para no fijar las vigas de las galerías en los muros de la Casa.
7 The temple was constructed using finished stones cut at the quarry, so that no hammer or chisel or any other iron tool was heard in the temple while it was being built.
En su construcción, la Casa fue edificada con piedras labradas en la cantera, de manera que ni martillos, ni hachas, ni algún instrumento de hierro se oyó en la Casa mientras la construían.
8 The entrance to the bottom floor was on the south side of the temple. A stairway led up to the middle level, and from there to the third floor.
La entrada a la galería inferior estaba al lado derecho de la Casa. Se subía por una escalera de caracol a la galería intermedia y de ésta a la superior.
9 So Solomon built the temple and finished it, roofing it with beams and planks of cedar.
Construyó, pues, la Casa y la terminó. Cubrió la Casa con vigas y tablas de cedro.
10 He built chambers all along the temple, each five cubits high and attached to the temple with beams of cedar.
Construyó también las galerías alrededor de toda la Casa, cada una de 2,25 metros de altura, las cuales se apoyaban en la Casa por medio de vigas de cedro.
11 Then the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying:
Y vino Palabra de Yavé a Salomón:
12 “As for this temple you are building, if you walk in My statutes, carry out My ordinances, and keep all My commandments by walking in them, I will fulfill through you the promise I made to your father David.
En cuanto a esta Casa que tú edificas, si andas en mis Estatutos, ejecutas mis Ordenanzas y guardas todos mis Mandamientos al andar en ellos, entonces Yo cumpliré mi Palabra que hablé a tu padre David:
13 And I will dwell among the Israelites and will not abandon My people Israel.”
Moraré en medio de los hijos de Israel y no abandonaré a mi pueblo Israel.
14 So Solomon built the temple and finished it.
Salomón edificó la Casa y la terminó.
15 He lined the interior walls with cedar paneling from the floor of the temple to the ceiling, and he covered the floor with cypress boards.
Cubrió las paredes del lado interior de la Casa con tablas de cedro. Las recubrió de madera por dentro, desde el suelo de la Casa hasta el entablado del techo. Cubrió el piso de la Casa con tablas de ciprés.
16 He partitioned off the twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from floor to ceiling to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.
Construyó nueve metros en la parte trasera de la Casa con tablas de cedro, desde el piso hasta el techo. Así le edificó el Santuario Interior: el Lugar Santísimo.
17 And the main hall in front of this room was forty cubits long.
La Casa, es decir, la parte de adelante, tenía 18 metros.
18 The cedar paneling inside the temple was carved with gourds and open flowers. Everything was cedar; not a stone could be seen.
Por dentro, la Casa estaba revestida de cedro tallado en forma de calabazas y de flores abiertas. Todo era de cedro. No se veía alguna piedra.
19 Solomon also prepared the inner sanctuary within the temple to set the ark of the covenant of the LORD there.
Entonces preparó por dentro el Santuario Interior, al fondo de la Casa, para poner allí el Arca del Pacto de Yavé.
20 The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high. He overlaid the inside with pure gold, and he also overlaid the altar of cedar.
El Santuario Interior tenía nueve metros de longitud, de anchura y de altura. Lo recubrió de oro puro. También recubrió el altar con cedro.
21 So Solomon overlaid the inside of the temple with pure gold, and he extended gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, which was overlaid with gold.
Después Salomón recubrió de oro puro el interior de la Casa, y ordenó pasar cadenas de oro en la parte delantera del Santuario Interior, y lo recubrió de oro.
22 So he overlaid with gold the whole interior of the temple, until everything was completely finished. He also overlaid with gold the entire altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary.
Revistió de oro toda la Casa, hasta que toda la Casa fue terminada. También recubrió de oro todo el altar que estaba delante del Santuario Interior.
23 In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim, each ten cubits high, out of olive wood.
También hizo en el Santuario Interior dos querubines de madera de olivo, cada uno de 4,5 metros de alto.
24 One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long, and the other wing was five cubits long as well. So the full wingspan was ten cubits.
Un ala del querubín tenía 2,25 metros y la otra ala igual. Desde el extremo de un ala hasta el extremo de la otra había 4,5 metros.
25 The second cherub also measured ten cubits; both cherubim had the same size and shape,
De la misma manera, el segundo querubín tenía 4,5 metros. Ambos querubines tenían la misma medida y la misma forma.
26 and the height of each cherub was ten cubits.
El primer querubín tenía 4,5 metros de alto, e igualmente el segundo querubín.
27 And he placed the cherubim inside the innermost room of the temple. Since their wings were spread out, the wing of the first cherub touched one wall, while the wing of the second cherub touched the other wall, and in the middle of the room their wingtips touched.
Luego puso los querubines en medio del Santuario Interior. Las alas de los querubines se extendían, de modo que el ala de uno tocaba una pared y el ala del otro tocaba la otra pared. Las otras dos alas que daban al centro del recinto se tocaban ala con ala.
28 He also overlaid the cherubim with gold.
Luego recubrió los querubines de oro.
29 Then he carved the walls all around the temple, in both the inner and outer sanctuaries, with carved engravings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers.
En todas las paredes alrededor de la Casa, en el interior y en el exterior, talló bajorrelieves de querubines, palmeras y flores abiertas.
30 And he overlaid the temple floor with gold in both the inner and outer sanctuaries.
Recubrió el piso del Santuario de oro, tanto el interior como el exterior.
31 For the entrance to the inner sanctuary, Solomon constructed doors of olive wood with five-sided doorposts.
Para la entrada al Lugar Santísimo hizo puertas de madera de olivo. El dintel y las jambas de la puerta eran pentagonales.
32 The double doors were made of olive wood, and he carved into them cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers and overlaid the cherubim and palm trees with hammered gold.
Las dos puertas eran de madera de olivo, en las cuales talló bajorrelieves de querubines, palmeras y flores abiertas, las cuales recubrió de oro, y esparció oro laminado sobre los querubines y las palmeras.
33 In the same way he made four-sided doorposts of olive wood for the sanctuary entrance.
También hizo así en la entrada al Lugar Santo, donde colocó jambas cuadrangulares de madera de olivo
34 The two doors were made of cypress wood, and each had two folding panels.
y dos puertas de madera de ciprés. Las dos hojas de ambas puertas eran giratorias.
35 He carved into them cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold, hammered evenly over the carvings.
Asimismo talló en ellas querubines, palmeras y flores abiertas, y las recubrió de oro aplicado con uniformidad a los grabados.
36 Solomon built the inner courtyard with three rows of dressed stone and one row of trimmed cedar beams.
Construyó el patio interior con tres hileras de piedras talladas y una hilera de vigas de cedro.
37 The foundation of the house of the LORD was laid in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign, in the month of Ziv.
El año cuarto, el mes de Ziv, se colocaron los cimientos de la Casa de Yavé.
38 In his eleventh year and eighth month, the month of Bul, the temple was finished in every detail and according to every specification. So he built the temple in seven years.
El año 11, el mes de Bul, que es el mes octavo, la Casa fue terminada con todos sus detalles y de conformidad con el diseño prefijado. La edificó en siete años.
