1 Kings 6

1 In the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites had come out of the land of Egypt, in the month of Ziv, the second month of the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, he began to build the house of the LORD.

১মিশর দেশ থেকে ইস্রায়েলীয়দের বেরিয়ে আসার চারশো আশি বছর পর দিনের ইস্রায়েলীয়দের উপর শলোমনের রাজত্বের চতুর্থ বৎসরের সিব মাসে, অর্থাৎ দ্বিতীয় মাসে শলোমন সদাপ্রভুর ঘরটি তৈরী করতে শুরু করলেন।

2 The house that King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high.

২রাজা শলোমন সদাপ্রভুর জন্য যে ঘরটি তৈরী করেছিলেন তা লম্বায় ছিল ষাট হাত, চওড়ায় কুড়ি হাত ও উচ্চতায় ত্রিশ হাত।

3 The portico at the front of the main hall of the temple was twenty cubits long, extending across the width of the temple and projecting out ten cubits in front of the temple.

৩উপাসনা ঘরের প্রধান কামরাটির সামনে যে বারান্দা ছিল সেটি ঘরের চওড়ার মাপ অনুসারে কুড়ি হাত লম্বা আর ঘরের সামনে থেকে তার চওড়া দিকটা ছিল দশ হাত।

4 He also had narrow windows framed high in the temple.

৪ঘরটার দেয়ালের মধ্যে তিনি সরু জালি দেওয়া জানালা তৈরী করলেন।

5 Against the walls of the temple and the inner sanctuary, Solomon built a chambered structure around the temple, in which he constructed the side rooms.

৫আর তিনি ঘরের ভিতরের দেওয়ালের চারিদিকে, মন্দিরের ও ভিতরের ঘরের দেওয়ালের চারিদিকে থাক তৈরী করলেন এবং চারিদিকে কামরা তৈরী করলেন। তার মধ্যে অনেকগুলো কামরা ছিল।

6 The bottom floor was five cubits wide, the middle floor six cubits, and the third floor seven cubits. He also placed offset ledges around the outside of the temple, so that nothing would be inserted into its walls.

৬নীচের তলার কামরাগুলো ছিল পাঁচ হাত চওড়া, দ্বিতীয় তলার কামরাগুলো ছিল ছয় হাত চওড়া এবং তৃতীয় তলার কামরাগুলো ছিল সাত হাত চওড়া, কারণ উপাসনা ঘরের দেয়ালের বাইরের দিকের গায়ে কয়েকটা তাক তৈরী করা হয়েছিল। তার ফলে ঐ তিন তলা ঘর তৈরী করবার জন্য উপাসনা ঘরের দেয়ালের গায়ে কোনো কড়িকাঠ লাগাবার দরকার হল না।

7 The temple was constructed using finished stones cut at the quarry, so that no hammer or chisel or any other iron tool was heard in the temple while it was being built.

৭খাদের যে সব পাথর কেটে ঠিক মাপে তৈরী করা হয়েছিল কেবল সেগুলোই এনে উপাসনা ঘরটা তৈরীর কাজে ব্যবহার করা হল। উপাসনা ঘরটি তৈরী করবার দিন সেখানে কোনো হাতুড়ি, কুড়াল কিম্বা অন্য কোনো লোহার যন্ত্রপাতির আওয়াজ শোনা গেল না।

8 The entrance to the bottom floor was on the south side of the temple. A stairway led up to the middle level, and from there to the third floor.

৮নীচের তলায় ঢুকবার পথ ছিল উপাসনা ঘরের দক্ষিণ দিকে; সেখান থেকে একটা সিঁড়ি দোতলা এবং তার পরে তিন তলায় উঠে গেছে।

9 So Solomon built the temple and finished it, roofing it with beams and planks of cedar.

৯এই ভাবে তিনি উপাসনা ঘরটা তৈরী করেছিলেন এবং তা শেষও করেছিলেন। তিনি এরস কাঠের পাঠাতন ও কড়িকাঠ দিয়ে তার ছাদও বানিয়েছিলেন।

10 He built chambers all along the temple, each five cubits high and attached to the temple with beams of cedar.

১০উপাসনা ঘরের চারিদিকে পাঁচ হাত করে উঁচু ঘরের তাক করলেন, তা এরস কাঠের মাধ্যমে ঘরের সঙ্গে যুক্ত ছিল।

11 Then the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying:

১১শলোমনের কাছে সদাপ্রভুর এই বাক্য বলা হল,

12 “As for this temple you are building, if you walk in My statutes, carry out My ordinances, and keep all My commandments by walking in them, I will fulfill through you the promise I made to your father David.

১২“তুমি যদি আমার নির্দেশ মত চল, আমার সব নিয়ম পালন কর এবং আমার সমস্ত আদেশের বাধ্য হও তাহলে যে উপাসনা ঘরটি তুমি তৈরী করছ তার বিষয়ে আমি তোমার বাবা দায়ূদের কাছে যা প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছি তা আমি তোমার মধ্য দিয়ে পূর্ণ করব।

13 And I will dwell among the Israelites and will not abandon My people Israel.”

১৩আমি ইস্রায়েলীয়দের মধ্যে বাস করব এবং আমার লোক ইস্রায়েলীয়দের আমি ত্যাগ করব না।”

14 So Solomon built the temple and finished it.

১৪শলোমন উপাসনা ঘরটি তৈরী করে এই ভাবে শেষ করলেন।

15 He lined the interior walls with cedar paneling from the floor of the temple to the ceiling, and he covered the floor with cypress boards.

১৫মেঝে থেকে ছাদ পর্যন্ত এরস কাঠের পাঠাতন দিয়ে তিনি দেয়ালের ভিতরের দিকটা ঢেকে দিলেন এবং মেঝেটা ঢেকে দিলেন দেবদারু কাঠের পাঠাতন দিয়ে।

16 He partitioned off the twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from floor to ceiling to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.

১৬উপাসনা ঘরের মধ্যে মহাপবিত্র স্থান নামে একটা ভিতরের কামরা তৈরী করবার জন্য তিনি উপাসনা ঘরের পিছনের অংশের কুড়ি হাত জায়গা মেঝে থেকে ছাদ পর্যন্ত এরস কাঠের পাঠাতন দিয়ে আলাদা করে নিলেন।

17 And the main hall in front of this room was forty cubits long.

১৭মহাপবিত্র স্থানের সামনে প্রধান বড় কামরাটি ছিল চল্লিশ হাত লম্বা।

18 The cedar paneling inside the temple was carved with gourds and open flowers. Everything was cedar; not a stone could be seen.

১৮উপাসনা ঘরের মধ্যেকার এরস কাঠের উপরে লতানো গাছের ফল ও ফোঁটা ফুল খোদাই করা হল। সব কিছু এরস কাঠের ছিল, কোনো পাথর দেখা যাচ্ছিল না।

19 Solomon also prepared the inner sanctuary within the temple to set the ark of the covenant of the LORD there.

১৯উপাসনা ঘরের মধ্যে সদাপ্রভুর নিয়ম সিন্দুকটি বসাবার জন্য শলোমন এই ভাবে মহাপবিত্র স্থানটা তৈরী করলেন।

20 The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high. He overlaid the inside with pure gold, and he also overlaid the altar of cedar.

২০সেই স্থানটা ছিল কুড়ি হাত লম্বা, কুড়ি হাত চওড়া ও কুড়ি হাত উঁচু। খাঁটি সোনা দিয়ে তিনি তার ভিতরটা মুড়িয়ে দিলেন এবং বেদীটাও তিনি এরস কাঠ দিয়ে ঢেকে দিলেন।

21 So Solomon overlaid the inside of the temple with pure gold, and he extended gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, which was overlaid with gold.

২১উপাসনা ঘরের প্রধান কামরার দেয়াল তিনি খাঁটি সোনা দিয়ে ঢেকে দিলেন এবং মহাপবিত্র স্থানের সামনে সোনার শিকল লাগিয়ে দিলেন। সেই মহাপবিত্র স্থানের দেয়ালও তিনি সোনা দিয়ে ঢেকে দিলেন।

22 So he overlaid with gold the whole interior of the temple, until everything was completely finished. He also overlaid with gold the entire altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary.

২২উপাসনা ঘরের ভিতরের সমস্ত জায়গাটা তিনি এই ভাবে সোনা দিয়ে মুড়ে দিয়েছিলেন, যে পর্যন্ত না সমস্ত ঘর শেষ হলো। মহাপবিত্র স্থানের বেদীও তিনি সোনা দিয়ে মুড়িয়ে দিয়েছিলেন।

23 In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim, each ten cubits high, out of olive wood.

২৩তিনি মহাপবিত্র জায়গার মধ্যে জিতকাঠের দুটি করূব তৈরী করলেন, যার উচ্চতা দশ হাত।

24 One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long, and the other wing was five cubits long as well. So the full wingspan was ten cubits.

২৪এক করূবের একটি ডানা পাঁচ হাত ও অন্য ডানা পাঁচ হাত ছিল; একটি ডানার শেষভাগ থেকে অন্য ডানার শেষ ভাগ পর্যন্ত দশ হাত হল।

25 The second cherub also measured ten cubits; both cherubim had the same size and shape,

২৫আর দ্বিতীয় করূবও দশ হাত ছিল; দুটি করূবের পরিমাণ ও আকার সমান ছিল।

26 and the height of each cherub was ten cubits.

২৬প্রথম ও দ্বিতীয় দুটি করূবই দশ হাত উঁচু ছিল।

27 And he placed the cherubim inside the innermost room of the temple. Since their wings were spread out, the wing of the first cherub touched one wall, while the wing of the second cherub touched the other wall, and in the middle of the room their wingtips touched.

২৭মহাপবিত্র স্থানে তিনি সেই করূব দুটি ডানা মেলে দেওয়া অবস্থায় রাখলেন। একটি করূবের ডানা এক দেয়াল ও অন্য করূবটির ডানা অন্য দেয়াল ছুঁয়ে থাকল আর ঘরের মাঝখানে তাদের অন্য ডানা দুটি একটি অন্যটির আগা ছুঁয়ে থাকল।

28 He also overlaid the cherubim with gold.

২৮তিনি করূব দুটিকে সোনা দিয়ে মুড়িয়ে দিলেন।

29 Then he carved the walls all around the temple, in both the inner and outer sanctuaries, with carved engravings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers.

২৯উপাসনা ঘরের দুইটি কামরার সমস্ত দেয়ালে করূব, খেজুর গাছ এবং ফোঁটা ফুল খোদাই করা ছিল।

30 And he overlaid the temple floor with gold in both the inner and outer sanctuaries.

৩০কামরা দুটির মেঝেও তিনি সোনা দিয়ে ঢেকে দিলেন।

31 For the entrance to the inner sanctuary, Solomon constructed doors of olive wood with five-sided doorposts.

৩১মহাপবিত্র স্থানের দরজাটা তিনি জিতকাঠ দিয়ে তৈরী করলেন। সেই দরজার কাঠামোর পাঁচটা কোণা ছিল।

32 The double doors were made of olive wood, and he carved into them cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers and overlaid the cherubim and palm trees with hammered gold.

৩২দরজার দুই পাল্লাতে তিনি করূব, খেজুর গাছ ও ফোঁটা ফুল খোদাই করে সোনা দিয়ে মুড়িয়ে দিলেন এবং সেই করূব ও খেজুর গাছের উপরকার সোনা পিটিয়ে সেগুলোর আকার দিলেন।

33 In the same way he made four-sided doorposts of olive wood for the sanctuary entrance.

৩৩প্রধান কামরার দরজার জন্য তিনি জিতকাঠ দিয়ে একটা চারকোণা কাঠামো তৈরী করলেন

34 The two doors were made of cypress wood, and each had two folding panels.

৩৪এবং দেবদারু কাঠ দিয়ে দরজার দুটি পাল্লা তৈরী করলেন; প্রত্যেকটি পাল্লা কব্‌জা লাগানো তৈরী করা হল। তাতে পাল্লাগুলো ভাঁজ করা যেত।

35 He carved into them cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold, hammered evenly over the carvings.

৩৫সেই পাল্লাগুলোর উপর তিনি করূব, খেজুর গাছ ও ফোঁটা ফুল খোদাই করে সোনার পাত দিয়ে মুড়িয়ে দিলেন।

36 Solomon built the inner courtyard with three rows of dressed stone and one row of trimmed cedar beams.

৩৬সুন্দর করে কাটা তিন সারি পাথর ও এরস গাছের এক সারি মোটা কাঠ দিয়ে তিনি ভিতরের উঠানের চারপাশের দেয়াল তৈরী করলেন।

37 The foundation of the house of the LORD was laid in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign, in the month of Ziv.

৩৭চতুর্থ বছরের সিব মাসে সদাপ্রভুর ঘরের ভিত্তি গাঁথা হয়েছিল।

38 In his eleventh year and eighth month, the month of Bul, the temple was finished in every detail and according to every specification. So he built the temple in seven years.

৩৮পরিকল্পনা অনুসারে উপাসনা ঘরটির সমস্ত কাজ এগারো বছরের বূল মাসে, অর্থাৎ অষ্টম মাসে শেষ হয়েছিল। এই উপাসনা ঘরটি তৈরী করতে শলোমন সাত বছর নিয়েছিল।
