1 John 3
1 Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.
பஸ்²யத வயம் ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸந்தாநா இதி நாம்நாக்²யாமஹே, ஏதேந பிதாஸ்மப்⁴யம்’ கீத்³ரு’க் மஹாப்ரேம ப்ரத³த்தவாந், கிந்து ஸம்’ஸாரஸ்தம்’ நாஜாநாத் தத்காரணாத³ஸ்மாந் அபி ந ஜாநாதி|
2 Beloved, we are now children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when Christ appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is.
ஹே ப்ரியதமா: , இதா³நீம்’ வயம் ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸந்தாநா ஆஸ்மஹே பஸ்²சாத் கிம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யாமஸ்தத்³ அத்³யாப்யப்ரகாஸி²தம்’ கிந்து ப்ரகாஸ²ம்’ க³தே வயம்’ தஸ்ய ஸத்³ரு’ஸா² ப⁴விஷ்யாமி இதி ஜாநீம: , யத: ஸ யாத்³ரு’ஸோ² (அ)ஸ்தி தாத்³ரு’ஸோ² (அ)ஸ்மாபி⁴ர்த³ர்ஸி²ஷ்யதே|
3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as Christ is pure.
தஸ்மிந் ஏஷா ப்ரத்யாஸா² யஸ்ய கஸ்யசித்³ ப⁴வதி ஸ ஸ்வம்’ ததா² பவித்ரம்’ கரோதி யதா² ஸ பவித்ரோ (அ)ஸ்தி|
4 Everyone who practices sin practices lawlessness as well. Indeed, sin is lawlessness.
ய: கஸ்²சித் பாபம் ஆசரதி ஸ வ்யவஸ்தா²லங்க⁴நம்’ கரோதி யத: பாபமேவ வ்யவஸ்தா²லங்க⁴நம்’|
5 But you know that Christ appeared to take away sins, and in Him there is no sin.
அபரம்’ ஸோ (அ)ஸ்மாகம்’ பாபாந்யபஹர்த்தும்’ ப்ராகாஸ²தைதத்³ யூயம்’ ஜாநீத², பாபஞ்ச தஸ்மிந் ந வித்³யதே|
6 No one who remains in Him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has seen Him or known Him.
ய: கஸ்²சித் தஸ்மிந் திஷ்ட²தி ஸ பாபாசாரம்’ ந கரோதி ய: கஸ்²சித் பாபாசாரம்’ கரோதி ஸ தம்’ ந த்³ரு’ஷ்டவாந் ந வாவக³தவாந்|
7 Little children, let no one deceive you: The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as Christ is righteous.
ஹே ப்ரியபா³லகா: , கஸ்²சித்³ யுஷ்மாகம்’ ப்⁴ரமம்’ ந ஜநயேத், ய: கஸ்²சித்³ த⁴ர்ம்மாசாரம்’ கரோதி ஸ தாத்³ரு’க்³ தா⁴ர்ம்மிகோ ப⁴வதி யாத்³ரு’க் ஸ தா⁴ம்மிகோ (அ)ஸ்தி|
8 The one who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the very start. This is why the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.
ய: பாபாசாரம்’ கரோதி ஸ ஸ²யதாநாத் ஜாதோ யத: ஸ²யதாந ஆதி³த: பாபாசாரீ ஸ²யதாநஸ்ய கர்ம்மணாம்’ லோபார்த²மேவேஸ்²வரஸ்ய புத்ர: ப்ராகாஸ²த|
9 Anyone born of God refuses to practice sin, because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.
ய: கஸ்²சித்³ ஈஸ்²வராத் ஜாத: ஸ பாபாசாரம்’ ந கரோதி யதஸ்தஸ்ய வீர்ய்யம்’ தஸ்மிந் திஷ்ட²தி பாபாசாரம்’ கர்த்துஞ்ச ந ஸ²க்நோதி யத: ஸ ஈஸ்²வராத் ஜாத: |
10 By this the children of God are distinguished from the children of the devil: Anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is anyone who does not love his brother.
இத்யநேநேஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸந்தாநா: ஸ²யதாநஸ்ய ச ஸந்தாநா வ்யக்தா ப⁴வந்தி| ய: கஸ்²சித்³ த⁴ர்ம்மாசாரம்’ ந கரோதி ஸ ஈஸ்²வராத் ஜாதோ நஹி யஸ்²ச ஸ்வப்⁴ராதரி ந ப்ரீயதே ஸோ (அ)பீஸ்²வராத் ஜாதோ நஹி|
11 This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
யதஸ்தஸ்ய ய ஆதே³ஸ² ஆதி³தோ யுஷ்மாபி⁴: ஸ்²ருத: ஸ ஏஷ ஏவ யத்³ அஸ்மாபி⁴: பரஸ்பரம்’ ப்ரேம கர்த்தவ்யம்’|
12 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did Cain slay him? Because his own deeds were evil, while those of his brother were righteous.
பாபாத்மதோ ஜாதோ ய: காபி³ல் ஸ்வப்⁴ராதரம்’ ஹதவாந் தத்ஸத்³ரு’ஸை²ரஸ்மாபி⁴ ர்ந ப⁴விதவ்யம்’| ஸ கஸ்மாத் காரணாத் தம்’ ஹதவாந்? தஸ்ய கர்ம்மாணி து³ஷ்டாநி தத்³ப்⁴ராதுஸ்²ச கர்ம்மாணி த⁴ர்ம்மாண்யாஸந் இதி காரணாத்|
13 So do not be surprised, brothers, if the world hates you.
ஹே மம ப்⁴ராதர: , ஸம்’ஸாரோ யதி³ யுஷ்மாந் த்³வேஷ்டி தர்ஹி தத்³ ஆஸ்²சர்ய்யம்’ ந மந்யத்⁴வம்’|
14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death.
வயம்’ ம்ரு’த்யும் உத்தீர்ய்ய ஜீவநம்’ ப்ராப்தவந்தஸ்தத்³ ப்⁴ராத்ரு’ஷு ப்ரேமகரணாத் ஜாநீம: | ப்⁴ராதரி யோ ந ப்ரீயதே ஸ ம்ரு’த்யௌ திஷ்ட²தி|
15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that eternal life does not reside in a murderer. (aiōnios g166)
ய: கஸ்²சித் ஸ்வப்⁴ராதரம்’ த்³வேஷ்டி ஸம்’ நரகா⁴தீ கிஞ்சாநந்தஜீவநம்’ நரகா⁴திந: கஸ்யாப்யந்தரே நாவதிஷ்ட²தே தத்³ யூயம்’ ஜாநீத²| (aiōnios g166)
16 By this we know what love is: Jesus laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
அஸ்மாகம்’ க்ரு’தே ஸ ஸ்வப்ராணாம்’ஸ்த்யக்தவாந் இத்யநேந வயம்’ ப்ரேம்நஸ்தத்த்வம் அவக³தா: , அபரம்’ ப்⁴ராத்ரு’ணாம்’ க்ரு’தே (அ)ஸ்மாபி⁴ரபி ப்ராணாஸ்த்யக்தவ்யா: |
17 If anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need, but withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in him?
ஸாம்’ஸாரிகஜீவிகாப்ராப்தோ யோ ஜந: ஸ்வப்⁴ராதரம்’ தீ³நம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா தஸ்மாத் ஸ்வீயத³யாம்’ ருணத்³தி⁴ தஸ்யாந்தர ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ப்ரேம கத²ம்’ திஷ்டே²த்?
18 Little children, let us love not in word and speech, but in action and truth.
ஹே மம ப்ரியபா³லகா: , வாக்யேந ஜிஹ்வயா வாஸ்மாபி⁴: ப்ரேம ந கர்த்தவ்யம்’ கிந்து கார்ய்யேண ஸத்யதயா சைவ|
19 And by this we will know that we belong to the truth, and will assure our hearts in His presence:
ஏதேந வயம்’ யத் ஸத்யமதஸம்ப³ந்தீ⁴யாஸ்தத் ஜாநீமஸ்தஸ்ய ஸாக்ஷாத் ஸ்வாந்த: கரணாநி ஸாந்த்வயிதும்’ ஸ²க்ஷ்யாமஸ்²ச|
20 Even if our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts, and He knows all things.
யதோ (அ)ஸ்மத³ந்த: கரணம்’ யத்³யஸ்மாந் தூ³ஷயதி தர்ஹ்யஸ்மத³ந்த: கரணாத்³ ஈஸ்²வரோ மஹாந் ஸர்வ்வஜ்ஞஸ்²ச|
21 Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God,
ஹே ப்ரியதமா: , அஸ்மத³ந்த: கரணம்’ யத்³யஸ்மாந் ந தூ³ஷயதி தர்ஹி வயம் ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸாக்ஷாத் ப்ரதிபா⁴ந்விதா ப⁴வாம: |
22 and we will receive from Him whatever we ask, because we keep His commandments and do what is pleasing in His sight.
யச்ச ப்ரார்த²யாமஹே தத் தஸ்மாத் ப்ராப்நும: , யதோ வயம்’ தஸ்யாஜ்ஞா: பாலயாமஸ்தஸ்ய ஸாக்ஷாத் துஷ்டிஜநகம் ஆசாரம்’ குர்ம்மஸ்²ச|
23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and we should love one another just as He commanded us.
அபரம்’ தஸ்யேயமாஜ்ஞா யத்³ வயம்’ புத்ரஸ்ய யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய நாம்நி விஸ்²வஸிமஸ்தஸ்யாஜ்ஞாநுஸாரேண ச பரஸ்பரம்’ ப்ரேம குர்ம்ம: |
24 Whoever keeps His commandments remains in God, and God in him. And by this we know that He remains in us: by the Spirit He has given us.
யஸ்²ச தஸ்யாஜ்ஞா: பாலயதி ஸ தஸ்மிந் திஷ்ட²தி தஸ்மிந் ஸோ(அ)பி திஷ்ட²தி; ஸ சாஸ்மாந் யம் ஆத்மாநம்’ த³த்தவாந் தஸ்மாத் ஸோ (அ)ஸ்மாஸு திஷ்ட²தீதி ஜாநீம: |
