< 1 Corinthians 1 >

1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,
PAULUS me paeker, en wiala wanporon en Iesus Kristus amen pan kupur en Kot o ri atail Sostenes,
2 To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:
Ong momodisou en Kot me mi Korint, me saraui kila Kristus Iesus, me paeker en saraui o karos me kin likwir ong mar en atail Kaun Iesus Kristus ni deu arail o deu at.
3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 I always thank my God for you because of the grace He has given you in Christ Jesus.
I kin danke ai Kot kaukaule pweki mak en Kot ong komail, me papanga dong komail sang ren Kristus Iesus,
5 For in Him you have been enriched in every way, in all speech and all knowledge,
Pwe komail me pai kidar i ni meakaros, ni masan karos o lolekong karos;
6 because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you.
Duen kadede iran Kristus a tengiteng re omail;
7 Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly await the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
8 He will sustain you to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Me pil pan kotin kasone komail di lao lel imwi, pwe en solar dip omail lao lel ni ran en atail Kaun Iesus Kristus.
9 God, who has called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.
Kot me melel, me komail paekerdo, pwen sau pena ren sapwilim a Ol Iesus Kristus atail Kaun.
10 I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree together, so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be united in mind and conviction.
11 My brothers, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you.
Ri ai kan a kalok dong ia sang toun im en Kloe, me dene komail kin akamai pena nan pung omail.
12 What I mean is this: Individuals among you are saying, “I follow Paul,” “I follow Apollos,” “I follow Cephas,” or “I follow Christ.”
A iet me i men inda, amen komail kin inda: Ngai nain Paulus amen; a ngai nain Apolos amen; a ngai nain Kepas amen; a ngai nain Kristus amen.
13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized into the name of Paul?
Iaduen, Kristus me lop pasang? Iaduen, Paulus me lopu kin komail er? De komail paptaisekier ni mar en Paulus?
14 I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius,
Ngai me danke Kot, me sota meamen re omail, me i paptaisela, Krispus eta o Kaius;
15 so no one can say that you were baptized into my name.
16 Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that I do not remember if I baptized anyone else.
A toun im en Stepanas i pil paptaisela; a solar me i asa, me i paptaisela.
17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with words of wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Pwe masan duen lopu me mal kot ren me lokidokilar akan, a manaman en Kot ong ir, me pan dorela.
19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”
Pwe a intingidier: I pan tiakedi lolekong en me lolekong kan, o karotongala marain en me marain akan.
20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? (aiōn g165)
Ia me lolekong o? O ia saunkawewe o? Ia me lolekong o en pali pa? Dadue, Kot sota wia lamponki me erpit en pali pa? (aiōn g165)
21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know Him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.
Aramas akan sota asa Kot pweki udan ar lolekong. Kot ap kupureda, en kamaur kida, me poson akan padak mongai.
22 Jews demand signs and Greeks search for wisdom,
Pwe Sus akan kin poeki kilel akan, a men Krik kin roporop lolekong.
23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,
A kit kin padaki Kristus me lopuedar, men kamakar ong Sus akan o ong men liki kan kasoi mal.
24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
A ong me paeker akan, men Sus o pil men Krik, se kaweweda Kristus manaman en Kot o erpit en Kot.
25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.
Pwe soerpit en Kot me sikida sang en aramas akan ar lolekong, o luet en Kot me kelail sang en aramas akan ar kelail.
26 Brothers, consider the time of your calling: Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were powerful; not many were of noble birth.
Ri ai kan, komail kilang duen omail paeker. Pwe kaidin me toto ren me lolekong en pali uduk kan. Pil kaidin me toto ren me poe kan, pil kaidin toto ren me masamas akan, me pilipildar.
27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
A Kot kotin piladar me so lolekong nin sappa, pwen kapouiala me lolekong kan; o Kot me kotin piladar me luet nin sappa kan, pwen kapouiala me kelail akan.
28 He chose the lowly and despised things of the world, and the things that are not, to nullify the things that are,
O me mal nin sappa, o me so konekon, i me Kot kotin piladar, o me sota meakot, pwen kawela me lapalap.
29 so that no one may boast in His presence.
Pwe uduk der aksuaiki mon Kot.
30 It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God: our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.
A komail tapi sang i ren Kristus Iesus, me wialar atail erpit sang ren Kot, o pung, o saraui, o maur patail.
31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”
Pwe duen a intingidier: Me men suaiki, i en suaiki Kaun o.
