1 Corinthians 5
1 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is intolerable even among pagans: A man has his father’s wife.
Se dice, de hecho, que hay entre ustedes un pecado de inmoralidad tan grave, que no se ve ni siquiera entre los gentiles, que uno de ustedes tiene a la mujer de su padre.
2 And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have been stricken with grief and have removed from your fellowship the man who did this?
Y en lugar de sentir tristeza, se llenan de orgullo, de modo que el que ha hecho esto no ha sido despedido de entre ustedes.
3 Although I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit, and I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did this, just as if I were present.
Porque yo, estando presente en espíritu aunque no en cuerpo, he tomado una decisión acerca de aquel que ha hecho esto;
4 When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you in spirit, along with the power of the Lord Jesus,
En el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesús, reunidos ustedes y mi espíritu, con el poder de nuestro Señor Jesús,
5 hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the Day of the Lord.
para que este hombre sea entregado a Satanás para la destrucción de la carne, para que su espíritu tenga perdón en el día del Señor Jesús.
6 Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven works through the whole batch of dough?
Este orgullo tuyo no es bueno. ¿No ves que un poco de levadura produce un cambio en toda la masa?
7 Get rid of the old leaven, that you may be a new unleavened batch, as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.
Quita, pues, la levadura vieja, para que puedas ser una masa nueva, así como estás sin levadura. Porque Cristo ha sido ejecutado como nuestra Pascua.
8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with the old bread, leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and of truth.
Mantengamos la fiesta, no con la vieja levadura, y no con la levadura de malos pensamientos y actos, sino con el pan sin levadura con sinceridad y verdad.
9 I wrote you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people.
En mi carta te dije que no debías hacer compañía con los que persiguen inmoralidad sexual;
10 I was not including the sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world.
Pero no tenía en mente a los pecadores que están fuera de la iglesia, o aquellos que son avaros, ladrones, chismosos, o idólatras; porque no es posible mantenerse alejado de tales personas sin salir completamente del mundo:
11 But now I am writing you not to associate with anyone who claims to be a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a verbal abuser, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.
Pero el sentido de mi carta era que no deben tener trato con ninguno que, llamándose hermano, sea inmoral o avaro, o idólatra, o maldiciente, o borracho, o ladrón, con gente así ni siquiera se sienten a comer.
12 What business of mine is it to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?
Porque no es asunto mío el juzgar a los que están afuera; pero ustedes deben de juzgar a los que están entre ustedes;
13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked man from among you.”
En cuanto a los que están afuera, Dios es su juez. Así que aparta a ese pecador de en medio de ustedes.
