1 Corinthians 12
1 Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed.
Ácerca dos dons espirituaes, não quero, irmãos, que sejaes ignorantes.
2 You know that when you were pagans, you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.
Vós bem sabeis que ereis gentios, levados aos idolos mudos, conforme ereis guiados.
3 Therefore I inform you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
Portanto vos faço notorio que ninguem que falla pelo Espirito de Deus diz: Jesus é anathema e ninguem pode dizer que Jesus é o Senhor, senão pelo Espirito Sancto.
4 There are different gifts, but the same Spirit.
Ora ha diversidade de dons, porém o Espirito é o mesmo.
5 There are different ministries, but the same Lord.
E ha diversidade de ministerios, mas o Senhor é o mesmo.
6 There are different ways of working, but the same God works all things in all people.
E ha diversidade de operações, porém é o mesmo Deus que obra tudo em todos.
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
Mas a manifestação do Espirito é dada a cada um, para o que fôr util.
8 To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by the same Spirit,
Porque a um pelo Espirito é dada a palavra da sabedoria; e a outro, pelo mesmo Espirito, a palavra da sciencia;
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
E a outro, pelo mesmo Espirito, a fé; e a outro, pelo mesmo Espirito, os dons de curar;
10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in various tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
E a outro a operação de maravilhas; e a outro a prophecia; e a outro o dom de discernir os espiritos; e a outro a variedade de linguas; e a outro a interpretação de linguas.
11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, who apportions them to each one as He determines.
Mas um só e o mesmo Espirito obra todas estas coisas, repartindo particularmente a cada um como quer.
12 The body is a unit, though it is composed of many parts. And although its parts are many, they all form one body. So it is with Christ.
Porque assim como o corpo é um, e tem muitos membros, e todos os membros sendo muitos, são um só corpo, assim é Christo tambem.
13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free, and we were all given one Spirit to drink.
Porque todos nós fomos tambem baptizados em um Espirito para um corpo, quer judeos, quer gregos, quer servos, quer livres, e todos temos bebido de um Espirito.
14 For the body does not consist of one part, but of many.
Porque tambem o corpo não é um só membro, senão muitos.
15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body.
Se o pé disser: Porque não sou mão, não sou do corpo; não será por isso do corpo
16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body.
E se a orelha disser: Porque não sou olho não sou do corpo; não será por isso do corpo?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?
Se todo o corpo fosse olho, onde estaria o ouvido? Se todo fosse ouvido, onde estaria o olfacto?
18 But in fact, God has arranged the members of the body, every one of them, according to His design.
Mas agora Deus collocou os membros no corpo, cada um d'elles como quiz.
19 If they were all one part, where would the body be?
E, se todos fossem um só membro, onde estaria o corpo?
20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
Agora pois ha muitos membros, porém um só corpo.
21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I do not need you.” Nor can the head say to the feet, “I do not need you.”
E o olho não póde dizer á mão: Não tenho necessidade de ti: nem ainda a cabeça aos pés: Não tenho necessidade de vós.
22 On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,
Antes, os membros do corpo que parecem ser os mais fracos são necessarios;
23 and the parts we consider less honorable, we treat with greater honor. And our unpresentable parts are treated with special modesty,
E os que reputamos serem menos honrosos no corpo, a esses honramos muito mais; e aos que em nós são menos honrosos damos muito mais honra.
24 whereas our presentable parts have no such need. But God has composed the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it,
Porque os que em nós são mais honestos não teem necessidade d'isso; mas Deus ordenou o corpo, dando muito mais honra ao que tinha falta d'ella;
25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its members should have mutual concern for one another.
Para que não haja divisão no corpo, mas que os membros tenham egual cuidado uns dos outros.
26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
De maneira que, se um membro padece, todos os membros padecem com elle; e, se um membro é honrado, todos os membros se regozijam com elle.
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each of you is a member of it.
Ora vós sois o corpo de Christo, e membros em particular.
28 And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, and those with gifts of healing, helping, administration, and various tongues.
E a uns poz Deus na egreja, primeiramente apostolos, em segundo logar prophetas, em terceiro doutores, depois milagres, depois dons de curar, soccorros, governos, variedades de linguas.
29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
Porventura são todos apostolos? são todos prophetas? são todos doutores? são todos operadores de milagres?
30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?
Teem todos o dom de curar? fallam todos diversas linguas? interpretam todos?
31 But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.
Portanto, procurae com zelo os melhores dons; e eu vos mostrarei um caminho ainda mais excellente.
