< 1 Corinthians 11 >

1 You are to imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.
Ẹ máa tẹ̀lé àpẹẹrẹ mi, gẹ́gẹ́ bí èmi náà ti ń tẹ̀lé àpẹẹrẹ Kristi.
2 Now I commend you for remembering me in everything and for maintaining the traditions, just as I passed them on to you.
Èmí yìn yín fún rírántí mi nínú ohun gbogbo àti fún dídi gbogbo ẹ̀kọ́ tí mo kọ́ ọ yín mú ṣinṣin gẹ́gẹ́ bí mo ṣe fi lélẹ̀ fún un yín.
3 But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
Ṣùgbọ́n mo fẹ́ kí ẹ̀yin mọ̀ pé, Kristi ni orí olúkúlùkù ọkùnrin, orí obìnrin sì ni ọkọ rẹ̀ àti orí Kristi sì ní Ọlọ́run.
4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head.
Gbogbo ọkùnrin tó bá borí rẹ̀ nígbà tó bá ń gbàdúrà tàbí sọtẹ́lẹ̀ kò bọ̀wọ̀ fún orí rẹ̀.
5 And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for it is just as if her head were shaved.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ náà ni obìnrin tí ó bá ń gbàdúrà tàbí tí ó bá ń sọtẹ́lẹ̀ láìbo orí rẹ̀, kò bu ọlá fún orí ara rẹ̀ nítorí ọ̀kan náà ni pẹ̀lú ẹni tí ó fárí.
6 If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off. And if it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head.
Ṣùgbọ́n tí obìnrin bá kọ̀ láti bo orí rẹ̀, ẹ jẹ́ kí ó gé irun rẹ̀. Bí ó bá sì jẹ́ nǹkan ìtìjú fún un láti gé irun orí rẹ́, nígbà náà kí ó fi gèlè bo orí rẹ̀.
7 A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man.
Ṣùgbọ́n ọkùnrin kò ní láti fi nǹkan bo orí rẹ́ nígbà tí ó bá ń sìn, nítorí àwòrán àti ògo Ọlọ́run ni òun í ṣe, ṣùgbọ́n ògo ọkùnrin ni obìnrin í ṣe.
8 For man did not come from woman, but woman from man.
Ọkùnrin kò ti inú obìnrin wá, ṣùgbọ́n a yọ obìnrin jáde lára ọkùnrin,
9 Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.
bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a kò dá ọkùnrin fún àǹfààní obìnrin ṣùgbọ́n a da obìnrin fún ọkùnrin.
10 For this reason a woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head, because of the angels.
Nítorí ìdí èyí àti nítorí àwọn angẹli, ni obìnrin ṣe gbọdọ̀ ní àmì àṣẹ rẹ̀ ní orí rẹ̀.
11 In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman.
Ẹ rántí pé, nínú ètò Ọlọ́run obìnrin kò lè wà láìsí ọkùnrin, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ọkùnrin kò lè wà láàsí obìnrin.
12 For just as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.
13 Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered?
Kí ni ẹ̀yìn fúnra yín rò lórí ọ̀rọ̀ yìí? Ǹjẹ́ ó tọ̀nà fún obìnrin láti máa gbàdúrà Ọlọ́run ní gbangba láìbo orí rẹ̀ bí?
14 Doesn’t nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him,
Ǹjẹ́ ìwà abínibí yín kò ha kọ́ yín pé, bí ọkùnrin bá ní irun gígùn, àbùkù ni ó jẹ́ fún un.
15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering.
Ṣùgbọ́n bí obìnrin bá ní irun gígùn, ògo ni ó jẹ́ fún un nítorí irun gígùn tí a fi fún un jẹ́ ìbòrí fún un.
16 If anyone is inclined to dispute this, we have no other practice, nor do the churches of God.
Ṣùgbọ́n tí ẹnikẹ́ni bá fẹ́ jiyàn lórí ọ̀rọ̀ yìí, ohun kan tí mo lè sọ sí gbogbo rẹ̀ ni pé, a kò ní ìlànà tí ó yàtọ̀ sí èyí tí mo ti sọ, pé obìnrin gbọdọ̀ fi gèlè bo orí rẹ̀ nígbà tí ó bá ń sọtẹ́lẹ̀ tàbí tí ó bá ń gbàdúrà láàrín ìjọ Ọlọ́run.
17 In the following instructions I have no praise to offer, because your gatherings do more harm than good.
Nínú àwọn àlàkalẹ̀ èmi ko ni yìn yín nítorí pé bí ẹ bá péjọ kì í ṣe fún rere bí ko ṣe fún búburú.
18 First of all, I hear that when you come together as a church, there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it.
Lọ́nà kìn-ín-ní, mo gbọ́ pe ìyapa máa ń wà láàrín yín ní ìgbà tí ẹ bá péjọpọ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìjọ, mo sì gba èyí gbọ́ dé ààyè ibìkan.
19 And indeed, there must be differences among you to show which of you are approved.
Kò sí àní àní, ìyàtọ̀ gbọdọ̀ wa láàrín yín, kí àwọn tí ó ṣe ìtẹ́wọ́gbà lọ́dọ̀ Ọlọ́run láàrín yín le farahàn kedere.
20 Now then, when you come together, it is not the Lord’s Supper you eat.
Nígbà tí ẹ bá pàdé láti jẹun, kì í ṣe oúnjẹ alẹ́ Olúwa ni ẹ máa ń jẹ.
21 For as you eat, each of you goes ahead without sharing his meal. While one remains hungry, another gets drunk.
Ṣùgbọ́n tí ara yín, nígbà tí ẹ bá fẹ́ jẹun, olúkúlùkù yín a máa sáré jẹ oúnjẹ rẹ̀ láìdúró de ẹnìkejì rẹ̀. Ebi a sì máa pa wọ́n, ẹlòmíràn wọ́n sì ń mu àmuyó àti àmupara.
22 Don’t you have your own homes in which to eat and drink? Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What can I say to you? Shall I praise you for this? No, I will not!
Ṣé ẹ̀yin kò ní ilé tí ẹ ti lè jẹ, tí ẹ sì ti lè mu ni? Tàbí ẹ̀yin ń gan ìjọ Ọlọ́run ni? Ẹ̀yin sì ń dójútì àwọn aláìní? Kín ni kí èmi ó wí fún un yín? Èmi yóò ha yìn yín nítorí èyí? A! Rárá o. Èmi kọ́, n kò ní yìn yín.
23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night He was betrayed, took bread,
Nítorí èyí tí èmi gbà lọ́wọ́ Olúwa ni mo ti fi fún un yin. Ní alẹ́ ọjọ́ tí Judasi fihàn, Olúwa Jesu Kristi mú àkàrà.
24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
Lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí ó ti dúpẹ́ lọ́wọ́ Ọlọ́run fún àkàrà náà tan, ó bù ú, ó fi fún àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀, ó sì wí pé, “Ẹ gbà kí ẹ sì jẹ, èyí ní ara mi tí a fi fún un yín. Ẹ máa ṣe eléyìí ni rántí mi.”
25 In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
Bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ lẹ́yìn oúnjẹ alẹ́, ó sì mú ago wáìnì, ó sì wí pé, “Ago yìí ni májẹ̀mú tuntun nínú ẹ̀jẹ̀ mi, ẹ máa ṣe èyí, nígbàkígbà ti ẹ̀yìn bá ń mu ú, ní ìrántí mi.”
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.
Nítorí nígbàkígbà tí ẹ bá ń jẹ lára àkàrà yìí, tí ẹ sì ǹ mu nínú ago yìí, ni ẹ tún sọ nípa ikú Olúwa. Ẹ máa ṣe eléyìí títí yóò fi padà dé.
27 Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.
Nítorí náà tí ẹnikẹ́ni bá jẹ lára àkàrà yìí, tí ẹ sì ń mu nínú ago Olúwa yìí, ní ọ̀nà tí kò bójúmu, yóò jẹ̀bi ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ sí ara àti ẹ̀jẹ̀ Olúwa.
28 Each one must examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.
Ìdí nìyìí tí ó fi yẹ kí ènìyàn yẹ ara rẹ̀ wò dáradára kí ó tó jẹ lára àkàrà nà án àti kí ó tó mu nínú ago náà.
29 For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body eats and drinks judgment on himself.
Nítorí tí ẹ bá jẹ lára àkàrà, tí ẹ sì mu nínú ago láìyẹ, tí ẹ kò ronú ara Kristi àti nǹkan tí ó túmọ̀ sí, ẹ̀ ń jẹ, ẹ sì ń mú ẹ̀bi ìdájọ́ Ọlọ́run wá sórí ara yín.
30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.
Ìdí nìyìí tí ọ̀pọ̀ yín fi di ẹni tí kò lágbára mọ́, tí ọ̀pọ̀ yín sì ń ṣàìsàn, àwọn mìíràn nínú yín tilẹ̀ ti sùn.
31 Now if we judged ourselves properly, we would not come under judgment.
Ṣùgbọ́n tí ẹ bá yẹ ara yín wò dáradára, kí ẹ tó jẹ ẹ́, a kì yóò dá yín lẹ́jọ́.
32 But when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.
Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí a bá dá wa lẹ́jọ́, láti ọwọ́ Olúwa ni a ti nà wá, kí a má ba à dá wa lẹ́bi pẹ̀lú ayé.
33 So, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.
Nítorí náà, ẹ̀yin arákùnrin mi ọ̀wọ́n, nígbàkígbà ti ẹ bá péjọ láti jẹ́ oúnjẹ alẹ́ Olúwa, tàbí fún ìsìn oúnjẹ alẹ́ Olúwa, ẹ dúró de ara yín.
34 If anyone is hungry, he should eat at home, so that when you come together it will not result in judgment. And when I come, I will give instructions about the remaining matters.
Bí ebi bá ń pa ẹnikẹ́ni nínú yin, kí ó jẹun láti ilé wá, kí ó má ba á mú ìjìyà wá sórí ara rẹ̀ nígbà tí ẹ bá péjọ. Tí mo bá dé, èmi yóò máa sọ̀rọ̀ lórí àwọn kókó-ọ̀rọ̀ ìyókù tí n kò ì ti fẹnu bà lẹ́sẹẹsẹ.
